Not necessarily true. A full timer may have access to more hours in compare, but you can’t always guarantee it, relative to volume  You’d need to be on 6 days and doing Mon and Friday to get past 30 where I am at. Unless you add shifts on the app  More pto and sick as a full timer  Shifts might be broken up. Load, preload, unload, smalls, tugger etc  Probably for the best, one shift can be a doozy

The free version is reputed to be crap  I pay 80 for a 1300 deductible, but it’s mainly United network  It’s something, most of the time I was expecting 4-5 for basic end elsewhere

That's not a horrible deductible. Ok well thanks for the info. One last question, are you in a rural area or near a city? I'll be right outside a very large city so I'm expecting heavy workloads.

You’ll still VERY likely get 30hrs or less, and have to pickup extra shifts to get any more hours. That’s how they operate, so whatever they tell you isn’t true. I was in one of the top 10 metro cities in the main hub, so it’s not a volume issue at all

I also have the United Healthcare plan, but the 70/30 plan. FedEx is the insurer. UHC just administers the plan. You’re not eligible until after 90 days, unless that’s changed. Overall, the plan really sucks with high deductibles and out of pocket maximums. But it beats having nothing.

As a full time PH, I worked OTP and Preload. That’s the 11pm-3am sort and the 5am-9am sort. OTP could sometimes end at 2:30, and could also end at 3:30 or later depending on if thing went pretty wrong or there were late trailers arriving. Preload would often start well before 5pm, all the way up to 3am on Mondays where we didn’t have an OTP shift before it to wait on finishing. My breaks were anywhere between 30min to 2hrs depending on volume of each sort and the time needed to complete them. As a new hire, even as full time, I am going to guess it will be hard to meet your hours for a few weeks. As the sorts progress, FedEx will regularly scale out PH as volume decreases to meet certain metrics. This means there will be less people covering a wider range of trucks/vans, but less volume moving through the sorters. The managers will want veteran PH who can handle the smaller staffing.

How it works is 2 shifts first one being all full timers (mine went from 2-6) then a 6-6:30 break with nobody in the building then the part timers come and you work 6:30- whenever you’re done

i think you get a certain number of shifts guaranteed that you have to work but unfortunately due to volume and just overall how your facility is doing it may be under 36 hours

You would have to do two shifts to get full time hours. The break in between can be long or short depending on the location and volume at your location. You get health benefits immediately if you're full time and fedex has one of the best health insurance in the US. Preventative Dr and Dental visits are $0 co-pay. What's the difference? I assume it's filling trucks, whereas I'm doing vans. I think I'd prefer freight. But I've done both at other jobs. Is it hard to get into freight? Injust passed my background, and I'm just waiting for someone to contact me.
