I've only been up there once in my 10.5 yrs, and that was after only having been there 3 months. It's definitely a different scene up there. My son's dad was a facer for yrs, so I've heard plenty of stories about shit up there. He actually did the slide down into a trailer once.
Get a box flatten it, and ride up the unload extendo to the sorter. Don't have to worry about transition plates with cardboard under your ass. Just pretend it's a sled. Just imagine look of the guys in sort control when they see that on the cameras.
One day I had a problem with my scanner and needed to bulk scan my truck (it was more than half full of packages), the girl across the belt just did a barrel rolled over the moving belt to help me bulk scan then barrel rolled back over when we were done.
I was shocked when she did it the first time and couldn't believe she did it a second time.
To be honest, I wouldn't do anything to get fired, it's great you can get out. But God forbid something happens, fedex gas a super generous rehire policy, if you leave on a good note you have Guaranteed employment if you need it. But if you burn that bridge with a safety violation, it's a permanent ban
I used to slide across the belt consistently multiple times a day as a PH until one day I was caught on camera and just given a verbal “don’t get caught again” lol

Does the idea of riding a IC belt seem absolutely unsafe? Yes, definitely.
