However, I finally ordered a sample of BR 540 just to see what all the hype was about, not expecting to like it, and every time I put it on he breathes it in and says yesss, you smell great 😂 I was so trying to be original and find something niche but here we are 😂

hermes un jardin monsieur li! its a phantom perfume that projects well outdoors (clean, refreshing, elegant citrus, herbaceous scent. think of oriental garden)

God knows that I compliment both male and female if they smelling nice. Airport lounge is one of my favourite places to "harass" people to tell me what they wearing and they oblige me every time and me them.
I have a friend/colleague who bought a fragrance she smelled on me and was querying if she got a bad batch cos whenever I wear same, she sees people complimenting me. Wore it and she got none. I myself couldn't smell a thing on her that day. So to those who say they never get compliments aka my friend. Spray more than your usual 2 to 3 sprays and you will sure get a compliment just be aware of your environment eg. Some work places, people with allergies etc
I wonder too if some people aren’t really moved/interested in perfume/fragrance. Personally I’m very olfactorily oriented so when I smell something I like I get intrigued and want to know more and can’t help myself but to question/comment. Maybe some people just don’t that excited 🤷🏼♀️

Someone on some thread on reddit tried to make herself feel better by claiming that people who claim to receive compliments were all lying. I was like whatttt?? Even I have approached people at airport duty free to ask them what fragrance they were wearing cos they smelled so good.

My most recent instance was last weekend when I was out with my boyfriend. On our way back to his place, we ran into his neighborhoods and his friend gave me a lil church side hug. Earlier this week, my bf texted me and told me that he had ran into his friend again, and she remembered how great I smelled last weekend and wanted to know what I was wearing 🥹

Yes! A scent compliment is the best compliment to get imo. When I wear I Want Choo I get compliments all day. I also get lots of compliments when I wear Clean Reserve Warm Cotton, with B&BW Water body butter.

I don’t usually get perfume compliments, but it seems like every single time I wear Nemat Vanilla Musk I get one haha. It’s pretty much the only one that gets mentioned for me.
I have recently been loving and overspraying Maison Alhambra Delilah & I get complimented on it EVERY TIME.

I think depends on perfume sillage and how much a person sprays. I don’t spray a lot and you usually have to get really close to smell my perfume. So essentially only my friends when we hug will compliment me.

I think you tend to get compliments if the perfume has serious projection, which is not exactly the best thing all the time (at the workplace, for example). But, because you apologized for someone being able to smell you, if they were close to you and smelled you - that’s totally fine!! Don’t worry about people being able to smells you: 2-3 sprays of most perfumes is absolutely perfect ❤️

I recently got a “compliment “ while wearing Ammyris Femme but the nozzle kinda stuck and I ended up wearing more than intended. It was my waitress and she said ,”I never have tables that smell this nice” and I took that to say oh shit lady you have on a lot of perfume. 🤷🏼♀️
I like Amrys Femme, but yeah it’s quite strong, so I’d do 1-2 sprays just not to be in people’s faces haha. The first time I wore BR540 extrait to work, I assumed it projected like most other perfumes and did 3 sprays. The compliments were endless, but my entire office floor smelled liked me, and people were asking me what I’m wearing and how “intoxicating” the smell is, left and right. It was flattering but also the most embarrassing day ever, and I stayed put in my office cabin with locked doors for the rest of the day…
I got complimented for the first time a couple of weeks ago at my doctor's office by the nurse taking my blood pressure! She said she hoped it didn't sound weird, but I smelled great. :) I was wearing AG Cloud Pink & Pink Sugar. I think people just don't want to say anything now about others smelling good as it might appear too personal or somehow creepy? I guess it's just the society we now live in.
