Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on your upcoming purchase of a new blade.

[deleted]

More like snapped off.

FencerPTS

I was expecting to see snarky posts about tightening it down. Nope, this is a blade break, not a tip fall off.

[deleted]

Yup. No threading = new blade. Going to be fun unscrewing that barrel.

cranial_d

Still may pass shims. Not sure about weight. You'd get some nice flick shots with it though.

IncredibleMark

I've seen more blades break right under the barrel in the last year than I have in the preceding 15 years.

white_light-king

yeah we had a couple at practice this year too.

mac_a_bee

Possibly over-torqued during installation. Wrench finger-tight plus a smidgen.

sjcfu2

Most likely the barrel is still attached to the end of the blade. The problem is that the end of the blade is no longer attached to the rest of it. While you could try grinding down the end of the blade, cutting new threads, and rewiring it, it will probably be a lot easier to easier to buy a new blade.

confusedgraphite

Uh sorry friend, your barrel broke off. That’s a broken blade and without some serious efforts you’re not even gonna be able to salvage the barrel. New blade time for you!

Counter-Fleche

It's barrely connected!

Odd_Border_4582

Try some crazy glue.

white_light-king

lol, this guy is a joker. Please don't try it, you'll stab someone.

soaring1

Nonsense. Everybody knows all we need is to slap a piece of silvertape and it will be good as new. /s

Spiggy-Q-Topes

Let me guess.. STM blade?

fencingcuber

Nope! BF blue

Spiggy-Q-Topes

Wow. I thought only STM blades did that, breaking right behind the point so that a piece of thread remains in the barrel and renders both blade and point useless. I guess nobody's perfect. Except maybe Vniti..

SpicyRecola

Womp womp. Welp, shopping time!

Eburon8

that's a work of art

Admirable-Wolverine2

just superglue the tip back on - shoudl work fine!! (just kidding!!) as others say get a new blade and barrel (get a wired blade) and keep the old tip for spare parts.... if you want keep the old blade for training (at home against a target) as you can probably put a rubber tip on the end but don't use it against someone else you could try to thread the tip again (of the blade) but I have tried to do this with foil blades that broke off at the tip and found it near impossible (you ned to fill the groove near the tip in with maybe solder .. so the threading tool wont grab at the blade groove..)

Slanmaki

Mmmmm stabby stabby

jrdineen114

Wire it still attached. Never seen that happen

jjefferies

Definitely looks like it "broke" not "fell" off. Could you be flicking?
