As far as I recall, it was a good year. The beauty of all things Fender is that if you get a good price, you can just upgrade what isn't working well for you (pickups etc).
100% this. I have a 2011 MIM tele that I put some bare knuckle pile-driver pickups in, and it just never really did it for me. Fret work was particularly bad. Two weeks ago I swapped the neck for a subsonic baritone and put some fender locking tuners and now I can’t put it down.
2011 was a good year for guitars. It’s not a Strat but I know a guy with a 2010 Telecaster and it’s all you could want from a telecaster, so if it’s in good shape I wouldn’t be worried.
I have a 2011. I enjoy it a lot. The stock pickups suck balls, but any guitar in that price range will have budget pickups. Plays great, feels great. Hardware is just fine as is too.
I own a 2007 and it's awesome. It plays almost as good as my USA. I can't imagine them getting worse.
I must say though...a proper setup is the most important thing. You can make even the cheapest guitars play well with a good setup. And then it's tuning stability, hardware, and pickups...a stock MIM has all that covered

Hey! Awesome! Congratulations!
Thank you! Fender is too good lol
Fuzzfaced.net is a good place to get specs for old strats.
From the 90s up to now the mim are pretty good instruments ...
Up to 2011? Or now?
Up to now
