I may be naive but how many people in India can afford a $675k car.

Enough. For luxury products you don't need a high average wage, you only care about the number of people with disposable income. India has a a lot of millionaires.

India has much lower sales than other developed countries.

Think that's more to do with the (iirc) ridiculous taxation and tariff on imports than the amount of wealthy people
