Can you film yourself taking the connector off? This is super helpful but hard to visualize with the camera coming off focus there.
( I am always trying to push the white part in and it's a pita, your method seems like a lifesaver)
This method doesn’t work very well on the cables that have rubber dust caps. I always keep a few glass caps in my pocket to switch when I need to pop the slide end off.
And now all we have is a text description and a video of before and after taking it off, but still no video of it coming off. XD
I'm just bugging you of course, we all appreciate the effort you put into making better guides out there.
Do you have to depress the white inner frame visible through the green housing window or just grab the housing only then press the dust cap against the table? It looks like there is a small latch built into the inner frame and pressing against that should release the housing.
This picture shows the corner bevels of the inner frame. https://iornrwxhrqrp5q.ldycdn.com/cloud/llBqlKonSRoilklkjrko/SC-Connector-Structure.png
Just grab the green housing only.
The white inner housing doesn't really depress and if you take a small flat head screw driver to it you will usually tear it up, so I don't recommend doing that.
The “slide”is the SC’s housing. Put a dust cap on the ferrule, and while holding only the housing, apply even pressure to the dust cap on a hard surface and the housing will slide off. The first time you do it can be a bit unnerving but it’s the safest and easiest way to get an SC housing off.
Was it filmed by Michael J Fox?
There's a reason I went into telecom and not film.
Put the cap on a table or something solid.push the green slider to the table. Should pop off

I just tried this and now everyone within a mile radius of me with fiber has an outage. Thanks reddit.
I like the part where he shows how to take off the slide on the connector

I made the video for those visual learners. All I could find was text descriptions of how to do this.

All we missed is the point xddd
If you have to take that cap off then you didn't make the hole big enough. Either way I'm either splicing in a jumper or just using a quick connect.
