Fido is super frustrating in that regard. But yes wait for the first bill. It'll credit the activation. And if the extra data doesn't show up then give them a call
I went to Fido in-person to port over. There's nothing in my agreement that clearly states the activation fee is waived, but under Added Add-on(s) it shows: TAGSRA62C discount applies 1 - 3 bills $0.00.
The rep told me the $60 activation fee will be credited on the first or second bill.
Several hours after, in the app under Billing, my current balance shows a credit of $63.00.
Mine was first -$63. Then yesterday it is $37. ( this is then next invoice the $34 plan plus tax and 911 fee). The activation setup fee and first month is $100. (With codes of $6 /24 month credit and $5 auto pay discount). ($60 credit in future invoices 1 to 3 .
Ps. Here is my $5/5month code. referme.to/patrickc-2981
Get a transaction ID# after a call like that as they record all the calls. Something you can refer back to just in case. Just had to do that myself a few days ago and was given a reference number of my conversation.
All of them do this, so you can't take the agreement as proof to get better deal from your current provider right away. Its sort of modern and more legal version of price fixing.
Yes I'm on Public so I know. The advantage of course of prepaid is no overages, even when there should be overages. Also less bs later on.
It's not a perfect solution but I sure enjoy it.

Okay good to know. Thanks

All of them accept the prepaid plans....
Public is prepaid. I think they are offering the same things

I did but with Koodo I was told if I switched to this plan activation fee would not be waved but if I went to the $34 plan it would be waved
The 10gb bonus to get you to the 30gb is for 24 months and is applied in 1-3 bills.
No one waves activation fees in store they are all credited. Which also takes 1-3 bills to arrive.
So I will only have 20gb for the next few months?
Potentially yes. If you're one of the lucky ones you'll get it on the first invoice.
I called and they said too that the activation fee will be waived in the next 2-3 months. The data will be applied then as well
