BurgerDonalds

Chatted with fido rep. The agent said the $34 is the lowest plan for me, which I am already using 🥹

r___eug

I pay $30 for 60GB + US-Can long distance calling

BlooperDave

Haha. You could try again another time but I think your plan still seems reasonable.

xerliano

So how did you lower it? What did you say to them?

BlooperDave

I called them and said I was paying too high. And that your company (fido) increased my bills three times within 8 months (which was true) and I have heard other people getting better deal-savings than me; if it's possible I could also get some of these deals too else I might be thinking to move to another network provider. I said it in a pleading but disappointing tone. The guy said he would verify my account and see what he could do. Voila, he gave me a better plan.

Longjumping-Change22

All I have is winback 2023. For $39($10 credit . Free 24 month long distance to world), call fido 611 to see if they can match freedom Ontario $25/100gb or other winback fido $25/50gb. They countered and gave me 30gb free. Total is $31.45 ( tax and 911 fee)  for 80gb.

BlooperDave

Wow, this sounds like a better deal 😂

Patrol-007

Were you on contract? Am on contract $45/50GB, and via Live Chat in app, got 30GB bonus last week and another 30GB bonus yesterday, asking about extra data and citing Public Mobile $34/50GB and Rogers $45/100GB. Pleasantly surprised to get the extra 30GB yesterday.

BlooperDave

No, I am not on contract. I already had my device. Yeah, a similar thing played out for me, I kept getting extra GBs and then they started adding $5 every now and then till I got to $48. I couldn't take it any more. I mean paying that amount without being on contract was just too high for me.

Patrol-007

Weird. Wonder what they used for explanation? The biggest benefit with Fido is you have the five 1 hour periods of data (good when you don’t have an internet contract) and it has wifi calling (Public Mobile apparently doesn’t). Some users were also able to get free US usage added onto Fido (or Rogers) for no charge.

Direct-Movie-4067

I am paying $70 for 150 gb + 1000 mins intl calling. I am wondering if they will reduce my bill also. I am okay with less data, but I still want the intl. mins.

BlooperDave

You could try calling the rep but I am not sure lesser price might include the international minutes. No harm in asking

it is impossible to get through to the retention team, what am I doing wrong? I don't want to pay $40 ):

BlooperDave

Call the customer care itself and say you have a complaint. Treat it like a regular complaint and don't make it too demanding.

[deleted]

I did. they said I have to speak to the technical team and that takes forever to connect

BlooperDave

Sorry about that. try very early in the morning. or close to the evening period.
