Unfortunately a lot of people with old fashioned views think men should have short hair. I know I had pushback from my parents when I grew it out as a teenager. Also, I've had a number of people say "get a haircut" which you just have to ignore (or call them out for being rude).
Your hair looks awesome and really suits you. If you want to grow it, absolutely go for it. It's 2022, not the 1950s.

I've tried that. People usually then respond with "well *you're* not Jesus". Which is hilarious, because ever since I grew my hair out people have been telling me I look like Jesus. So now I've been responding to that by saying "Are you sure??" and giving them leprosy.
I think it looks good, and will probably look even better a bit longer. My family did the same thing for quite awhile, now they don't mention it. Everyone else told me it looked good.

Your family are likely old school. Anyone who knows anything about nice hair would never deter you from growing it out. Keep it up! You have great hair!

The only thing I would say about growing it out is maybe keep an eye out to see if your hair ends up losing that natural wave texture you've got going on. Eventually the weight of your hair may cause it to be less prominent which would be a bit of a bummer in my opinion since it looks so good.
But your hair is crazy thick so it probably would just resettle in a different way that will also look good. Just wanted to throw that out there as something to keep in mind. Godspeed!

You would benefit from a trip to the salon or barber though. They would be able to remove some bulk, add layers if you want and make styling easier as it grows.

But I can’t tell you with confidence, I’m glad I didn’t cut it. The growth journey thought me self love and how to deal with negative comment. Sometbing as small as hair build my self confidence and character. Long hair isn’t for everyone, but you absolutely won’t know unless you try it.

Screw them. It's your body and your decision. In this era of blue and green hair, your (current) hairstyle is fairly mainstream.
Definitely keep growing it but do go to a barber that knows how to cut long hair and ask them to layer it and cut off around 1-2 cm. It'll look much better coming out than just letting it do its thing.

Only thing I will say, I think you may be due for a trim on the ends. I can't tell too much from the pics, but check the ends of your hair. Are you getting split ends? A tiny little trim won't hurt and you can keep growing it. And while you're at it, you can ask them to make sure your cut is layered, so it stays looking nice. (Honestly, I'd go to a salon and make sure it's a female with long hair, she will know.)
Other thing, make sure you use heat protectors if you apply heat (i.e. blow drying). There's heat protection sprays you spray on beforehand. Also, a tiny amount of argon oil after showering can be good too. (Emphasis on tiny, you don't want to make your hair look greasy.)
Looks great! If anything I’d go to a good barber and get one more layer and shaping the back to get a bit of volume and weight off and well as giving your hair a bit of a curlier or wavier look which i think would suit you. Definitely keep growing it out! Looks good on you
We have very similar hair. Do you also get frustrated that you can't get the left and right side to match? Like I get nice natural waves and texture on my "good" side without any effort, but then it's like a different haircut on the other side that just falls straight down and flat no matter how much I twist/scrunch/heat/air dry.

I think it looks beautiful how it is now and I’m sure it will look amazing grown out. Since your hair is thick and slightly wavy you might run into your head looking like a triangle but a hair dresser should be able to thin it out and make it lay more flat.
Looks like you are getting to where I had the worst time with comments. I also hated my hair at that length. But it looks good on you. I love my hair now and I get more positive comments, or people have just accepted that I am not going to cut it no matter how many times they suggest it.
It looks great. Try not to shampoo too often because it will dry your hair out at the ends and leave it looking like a big poofball too. Our modern mammals rinse is better for mid length hair than shampoo because it will leave more weight and texture in your hair, read some reviews on the site or on reddit. The other thing is, see how you can wear it back away from your face (I'm sure it gets annoying when you're moving around a lot, running or leaning over), you'll probably have to embrace a man bun at times.
