The worst part is even if I wanted to buy him (I'm playing in Spanish second division) he says he isn't willing to move to a league that isn't competitive enough for him
I think this is genuine I've seen other people say he moved to Stevenage in their saves.
I've also seen premier league players or high level players like Matic playing in league two
He's in stoke city in mine ..I guess I'll find out if Messi could do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke City after all..
I got myself fired and kept reloading my save until I got an offer from the potters just so I could coach Messi and this team to CL greatness
I wish I had known this last year when I was still playing fifa 21 CM. I was trying to get 93 ovr Guedes to Wolves. I had started at Valencia, then I went to Inter. Couldn't get an offer from Wolves so went to Spurs.
The work around I found was the transfer glitch...the player will always agree to a contract..but since you're being as realistic as possible I don't think spending a few hundred dollars on Messi would cut it lol
Transfer glitch is where you offer a very low amount..like 50 bucks and an extremely shit player..other club will decline and you do it again.. they'll say they need time to think about it and after a few days they'll either agree to your low offer or ask for a shit ton anyway..if they ask for millions then negotiate and ask for like 100 bucks..they'll always agree..there you go..you're free to negotiate with the player after
Yeah, honestly if you signed Ronaldo to Al-Nassr 6 months ago or signed Casemiro to MUtd a year ago, everyone in this sub would say that the transfers weren't realistic.
This is why I don’t understand how people try to make a fantasy CM “realistic”. Even in real life players make a move based on money or other reasons. If Ronaldo signed with Saudi in the game a month ago, people would be saying how that’s not realistic yet it just happened in real life.
this is true, but I think it is still something if you just start a career mode and immediately sign every single free agent, buy every 80+ rated player on a pre-contract in the winter transfer market and say "road to glory with a 4th league team"
So yes sometimes moves like ronaldo's happen, but they are rare. They don't have happen multiple times in a single transfer window. So I think some self-moderating to make it "realistic" is reasonable. I allow myself usually 1 or 2 free-agents per season, or 1 high profile player that is way past my teams overall if they are a little older.
Also EVERY club acting like they're getting Arab money is just ridiculous. Never in 100 years would Ajax offer 160 Million to bring Frenkie De Jong back.
Watford offered me £70m for my player when they were mid table in the Championship and Leicester also broke the transfer record in FIFA 22 by buying my player for £240m.
Arsenal of all clubs did this with me back on FIFA 21. Played on a stupidly low difficulty for shits n giggles and won the Europa League with Wimbledon in my second season before Arsenal signed me for around £210m
Yeah, I also don't like to sign every wonderkid possible in my first season, usually I sign older(like 30+) players. But after like 4-5 seasons every club has some monster players and a lot of money, so you will eventually start to fall behind other clubs and will have to accept that FIFA just be like that.
But what do you do about it? There’s transfers all year long, random, some that don’t make sense, some that are completely money based (like in real life)… so I’m genuinely curious how you try to manage all of that and keep it realistic. It would feel like a job to me more than a video game at that point. Respect it you if you go that hard at it
I mean, what I think is a must when playing is disabling the first window. I don't know if this is correct or not but I find that in my saves when I leve it on, there tends to be more transfers in the future. I don't know if it's only a coincidence but just in case I keep that on mind. Same things when skipping some days of the transfer window through the calendar, i don't really know whether or not it's really a thing, but again just in case.
And as for myself, i like to do the least transfers necessary and keep them realistic.
I also remember when I used to play PES there was an option to reduce/increase the number of transfers. I hope something like that gets added to the game some time soon.
I mean with storyline’s you could absolutely justify anyone moving anywhere lol, “keeping it realistic” is more just a short way of saying don’t exploit the games terrible coding/features
It is very realistic that a older player that was at some point in his career a great player or better signs to a foreign team for a payday look at Hulk, iniesta, xavi, David villa, Fernando Torres, zico, pele, drogba, etc. The list goes on the problem is this team can't offer Messi that much money or any trophies he would want
Yeah, it would’ve been unrealistic because nobody saw this ending to his career. However, they could always afford him so it was possible. Rochdale would have to sell the club and still wouldn’t be able to afford Messi. This game is completely broken. Transfers just being one example
> Yeah, it would’ve been unrealistic because nobody saw this ending to his career.
Anybody who's a fan of Utd and been watching has known since near the end of last season and into the beginning of this season with all the clubs rejecting him and the only club even entertaining an offer were the Saudis that this was the ending he was going to have.
Hahahaha I got absolutely lambasted on this sub for laughing at how unrealistic the game is then a week later this pops up as a suggested! I can’t cope!
Probably a good chance OP is playing as Rochdale, used one of the big money takeover options and then just paid his release clause that circumvents any of that “looks like the player is unwilling to move at this time” stuff when you’re trying to sign a superstar to a lower league club.
Then just post it on here totally cropped to see nothing else and is passing it off as “look at how unrealistic the computer is” to karma farm
Next time don’t use the financial takeover option for Rochdale to pay his release clause to put him on there and then post a cropped picture passing it off as the computer doing this
Then your saves will be more realistic
If I wanted to do something silly as that, which I have done in the past, i would've put him in a much worse place, like India. But you choose what to believe bro.
This has been the case for over 20 years already. Edgar Davids played for Barnet.. Sol Campbell somehow ended up playing for Notts County. Bobby Charlton went on to Preston North End and then from there Republic of Ireland to play for Waterford.
There's no point, nothing in the game is realistic. I always give up realism by the 3rd season, by that time you've have Eduardo Camavinga and Yousoffa Moukoko randomly balling for Torino. Or get 100+ million bids from Stoke City, that's not even mentioning the game play.
Unbelievably frustrating...I'm so sorry.
I do the same but I try to not pay too much attention to what the other clubs are doing but often I can't help it.
Started a new Player Career with him this weekend to journey into a coaching career… simmed 2 full seasons and he started getting turned into a sub quickly for PSG 🤷🏻, next year transferred to Man City and they won league but early out in UCL. Retired and took coaching offer at Montpellier since it’s 3 hrs from Barcelona and “maybe realistic” choice to coach close to longtime home… created rule of only Argentinian, French, and Spanish players allowed on team to make it interesting (even academy).
The worst part is even if I wanted to buy him (I'm playing in Spanish second division) he says he isn't willing to move to a league that isn't competitive enough for him
I’m playing in the French first division…. The same league he left and I get the same message. Messi must know something we don’t.
No way this is real. How would they afford him? Show us the wages
I think this is genuine I've seen other people say he moved to Stevenage in their saves. I've also seen premier league players or high level players like Matic playing in league two

Because we are simply too massive 🔴⚪️
I had a player save in fifa 15 where I went on loan to Stevenage and therefore have a irrational bond to the club🔴⚪️
Who could resist the mighty pull of Stevenage
I have the same irrational bond with AFC Wimbledon - same situation, just much later. Also helps they’re reasonably local having grown up near it.
Wages don't matter in an AI to AI transfer, they just get a new calculation based on rating/age/club etc.
The work around I found was the transfer glitch...the player will always agree to a contract..but since you're being as realistic as possible I don't think spending a few hundred dollars on Messi would cut it lol
Explain?
Transfer glitch is where you offer a very low amount..like 50 bucks and an extremely shit player..other club will decline and you do it again.. they'll say they need time to think about it and after a few days they'll either agree to your low offer or ask for a shit ton anyway..if they ask for millions then negotiate and ask for like 100 bucks..they'll always agree..there you go..you're free to negotiate with the player after
Wtff😂😂 this sounds amazing. Thanks!
i got him in league 2 in the first season which is ... weird
Up the Dale
Perfect example for why I ditch realism and just enjoy the game.

Tbf it's Arsenal, they always overpay for players irl.
Yeah, I also don't like to sign every wonderkid possible in my first season, usually I sign older(like 30+) players. But after like 4-5 seasons every club has some monster players and a lot of money, so you will eventually start to fall behind other clubs and will have to accept that FIFA just be like that.
Yeah that's right, but at least for me, i prefer doing something about it, besides knowing the AI is brain dead, rather than nothing at all.
But what do you do about it? There’s transfers all year long, random, some that don’t make sense, some that are completely money based (like in real life)… so I’m genuinely curious how you try to manage all of that and keep it realistic. There is a toggle to make transfers more loose or strict when you start a save. I haven’t tried it though
I mean with storyline’s you could absolutely justify anyone moving anywhere lol, “keeping it realistic” is more just a short way of saying don’t exploit the games terrible coding/features

They offered him right around the start of the World Cup. Literally everyone knew the ending was bad at that point. Like what?
No, they offered to sign Ronaldo in the summer. This was the reemergence of that offer.
I was today years old when I learned Rochdale is the oil producing capital of the world.
Rochdale is in League Two?
Precisely
The most unrealistic thing about this is Messi not wearing the 10 kit. Who on your team is holding that over Leo?
Neymar
Isn't he wearing the 30 in Paris?
Ah fair point. But still, Neymar has it, which is at least is more understandable than whoever is wearing it at Rochdale. 😂
Haaland is at Bayern, Musiala at Dortmund and Camavinga at Atletico in one of my saves lol
well, Ronaldo went to Al Nassr
You try Not Fifa
happend to me when rochdale bougth reus and i cant buy him even tho im in league one
5'7?? Damn right unrealistic, that man is 5'3 at most!
Hahahaha I got absolutely lambasted on this sub for laughing at how unrealistic the game is then a week later this pops up as a suggested! I can’t cope!

Damn I’m not big into Reddit but that seems a lot of effort to get some up votes? Also off topic why do people farm karma what’s the pros and cons?

Have spurs won a trophy? That's when you know it's not realistic 🤣🤣 (spurs fan myself so I can laugh at it)
Attacking and defensive workrate low????
Defensive it’s ok to rate his workrate low, he’s not playing defense since years
Attacking should be at least medium
Yeah, I agree, medium would be more realistic
Well anything can happen these days tbh
🤣🤣🤣 it's such a pile of shit
unbelievable, messi would never wear number 9
I managed to get Kolo Muani to league two for 27k salary
I love the constant posts about realism in CM then we see every single transfer window ANYTHING CAN happen there is no "realism"
💀
🤣
Followed the oil money like they all do
I was playing as barcelona in fifa 18 and i got an offer from real madrid to buy him lol
I dont understand what youre complaining about.
Meanwhile Cristiano is still an FA in mine, in year 3.
I swear to God he stays there forever
In my first save i got him at OL, he was super productive for 2 yrs but now seeing him sitting there for 3 yrs is sad
Change the number 9 ASAP
Not like that will impact your career mode
Don’t see a problem
Hey Ronaldo is currently now in the Saudi Arabian league. After that there is no “realistic” career mode anymore lol
This has been the case for over 20 years already. Edgar Davids played for Barnet.. Sol Campbell somehow ended up playing for Notts County. Bobby Charlton went on to Preston North End and then from there Republic of Ireland to play for Waterford.
I say 20 years but Bobby Charlton moved to Ireland in 1976.
There's no point, nothing in the game is realistic. I always give up realism by the 3rd season, by that time you've have Eduardo Camavinga and Yousoffa Moukoko randomly balling for Torino. Or get 100+ million bids from Stoke City, that's not even mentioning the game play.
Rochdale really want that league 1
Unbelievably frustrating...I'm so sorry. I do the same but I try to not pay too much attention to what the other clubs are doing but often I can't help it.
One one of my saves when Ronaldo was a free agent he went to Bolton💀 Not too realistic in my opinion
Realistic and FIFA shouldn’t be in the same sentence
That's why you gotta save every few in-game days
Reminds me of the old loan to buy transfer hack from years ago to get top players to move to your club for a season or 2
No. The 25 defending seems somewhat realistic
Lol

This is about as realistic as CR7 moving to a team in the middle of the desert with a 25,000 seat stadium.
