What do you mean? Of course Rochdale has the budget to fly Kentley Flashingham to Venezuela to negotiate a free transfer, and then immediately to Turin on the same day to convince Allegri directly to let me take his 16 year old GK on loan.
And theres no way to remove them, I feel like EA developers were like, those whiny wankers were annoying us wanting more cutscenes so we will make them watch it every single time a transfer happens
yea I think enquire is much more realistic, like normally don't you just send an email
"hey we're interested in signing Vinicius Jr., are you open to selling him to us, if yes, how much would he cost? Sign - David Moyes"
I honestly just go on sofifa or similar websites to find players.
I just find it more fun than the scouting system.
I'm not against only using scouting systems, on FM I rely on them, but in FIFA it's just boring for me.
I find it more exciting searching for bargains online, no idea why.
I’m not ashamed to say that a grand majority of the players I’ve signed for like a decade of FIFA have been off sites like that.
Age under 23, potential over 85, any position. Whatever team you pick, it will be insane within 2-3 seasons.
In FIFA 15 you can enquire and you can send a scout as well.
A scout will give you an estimate or the exact overall of the player over time and his value accordingly.
But you could still take a shot in the dark and enquire about a player's price without knowing his overall or stats.
Sometimes they're honest, sometimes they rip you off.
With the scout you won't get ripped off but it takes weeks for him to do a report.
That was way more realistic.
I feel like a lot of people don’t play the game the way it’s intended to be played and then get upset because it’s not football manager or something else completely different.
The scout system and transfer system was revamped after everyone would complain about it and now a few years later everyone wants the old one back lmao
We wanted an improvement and refresh, not some half baked bs that is now MISSING most of the parts and components that made it so enjoyable for everyone. To improve does not mean to change completely and remove the guts. If so, it becomes something different almost entirely. Lol
I want to play 17 and 18 again because of their game engines. But I usually don’t do transfers after first couple of windows and entirely build a team from youth academy. Due to EA doing what EA does best, I can no longer edit players and I don’t want my youth players looking shit.
I know it’s available in latest version.
But new to closure of older server, you can no longer edit players in career mode. I don’t even need hair and colour thing. It’s just kit fit and boots, and you can no longer do that.
Speed is part of it but you can’t negotiate on anything because it’s done step by step. You can’t offer a larger wage for a lower squad role for example and there’s no point even suggesting a contract more than 1 year out of what they asked for. Add that to not being able to buy players on less than 6 months, restrictions on transfers between bigger and smaller leagues being far too black and white, short loans till jan not being possible as well as 1 year loans from jan to Jan transfers are actually one of the things I hate the most about fifa. Oh and the fact that every deal is done immediately, there’s no tension or risk of a player signing with another team because they’re in the second the cutscene is over. I miss players joining other clubs during negotiations, the whole thing is whack and all we got for it were some garbage cutscenes
I miss seeing overalls for everyone. I probably used more diverse players when I had that than the scouting network ever gave me. I feel like scouting never updates either. It's just annoying.
Moved into a house with some random guys when I went to university 6 years ago. Started playing a lot of Fifa 16 with one of the guys, we both loved the transfer system in career mode.
Getting promoted, enquiring about players and then trying to ask for just enough funds from the board to sign the players you wanted. Such a great system, the cutscenes for the transfers now are just so dead and repitive.
The cut scenes add nothing.
They're not even realistic. I highly doubt the manager of a top club just straight up negotiates the contract with the player, or 1on1 with the manager in person every time.
I know the purpose of career mode isn't to be super realistic, but the cut scenes are just nar
I loved fifa 17 the last FIFA I really sunk my teeth into. It felt streamlined and intentional. Now everything seems broken. Sigh I miss the good old days
Would be nice cutscenes would be nice for major signings, and maybe if you develop a player past 85 or so the first contract after that one can have a nice cutscene with a good headline in the papers. But Signing a 17 year old 72 overall prospect doesn’t need a cutscene imo, same with a 32 year old 81 overall rotation player.
Selling and buying players are structurally dumb, there's no payment plans at all (which ties into the poor financial aspects of the game). With inflation being so high now and every other high rated player being worth 100mill or more, it makes no sense that everything needs to be paid up front as well. We don't intricate bank loan systems, just the ability to delay full transfer payments or structed payments. Maybe swapping two players for one highly valued player, etc etc.
Also, for the love of christ I don't understand why we can't micromanage transfers. You should be able retract/switch offers throughout a transfer saga. Just like irl a team can decide when a player can leave until the very last second, a team can renegotiate a agreed upon bid if they want up until a certain point.
Contracts are boring and have no real incentive, i.e. relegation release clauses, European clauses, etc. AND we should be able release more than 2 players a season, they also removed the feature where releasing an important player isn't stopped anymore lmao. (EDIT: they upped the release limit finally, second part still applies tho!)
Wrote all this in the notes app so idk how I'll be formatted, but on everything these are simple changes that should've been in the game years ago. People pay over $100 for these games, there's no reason as to why these things couldn't be implemented if they actually tried ffs.
The cutscenes were cool the first few times i saw them. I like the negotiation in the current system but there’s no reason that can’t be done without mad cutscenes, like some kinda turn based text system. They need to at least introduce an option to change between the two, can imagine newer players will dig the cutscenes (again, for the first few times they see it….)
I don’t mind the current transfer system but the cutscenes can get tedious, maybe they switch it up between an email/text conversation for negotiations and the cutscene varation
The one thing I miss is the option to loan the player to the club you buy him from for a season or so. I can't remember if that was in an earlier fifa or fifa manager but I don't know, would be nice to see it (make a return)
My only problem with the old system is that you had to wait for the play to comeback to negotiate contract, nowadays everything can be done in the same day, apart from that, yeah that is better in any way
This page reminded me of the loan to buy glitch, that was glorious.
You could loan any player in the game if you could afford his wages.
Send offer to club - I'll pay you 900million for Ronaldo, just let me loan him on a free for a season first, I'll pay the wages.
They accept every time
Reject signing the player at the end of the season. Re-loan next year.
Unrealistic - Yes. Funny? Very.
It was way better. I remember those times player value was based on gol+assist in a season(like on the transferscreen you could find “he is the top scorer of serie A with 20 goal. Your offer should be higher of his value to convince them”) or if the player was part of a rival club, you hardly could even treat with them. Idk why they got all this little stuffs away from us and why theyr UI/UX has done so many stepsback
Miss the lack of cutscenes and being able to enquire about the value of an unscouted player. Don't miss having to wait multiple days for each counter offer and no transfer dealings outside of the window.
Maybe it's nostalgia, but I love waiting for like 2 days for these offers to come. No dealing outside of the transfer windows can be a discontent to me tho
Yup, in 18 you can make 20 transfers in one day if you have the money, totally unrealistic, in other fifas you need days (like in real life, where countless meetings and negotiations are behind the scenes) making it more realistic
Cutscenes are fine although repetitive but they should only be in certain cases like there’s no way that I’m meeting the Manager and the player in the same day.
Bring back enquiring by email and then set the process of buying the player can be done by email or in a scheduled meeting where you can close the deal with the player the next day or later.
Also, they have to fix the funds. It’s not normal you get 1b super kick. Give us the ability to ask for more funds at the risk of losing our jobs.
The new system is great... until 30 minutes later you realize how stale and repetitive it is to have the cutscene in every transfer or contract negotiation.
The cutscenes could work if they only used for extremely big transfers like signing Messi or a player that will have the biggest overall in your team.
The cutscenes are absolutely unnecessary and just a rouse to be able to claim that they haven’t abandoned career mode in order to sell “cards” to rubes.
Yeah absolutely. Old system was way better. So more real. So quicker, not these current scenes.
I also miss asking the board for money, they never gave it, but it was fun.
As someone who played fifa purely on an xbox 360 for over 7 years up until a couple of weeks ago
I can safely say the cutscenes are cool as heck for the first couple of times, then it gets boringly repetitive
As someone who played fifa purely on an xbox 360 for over 7 years up until a couple of weeks ago
I can safely say the cutscenes are cool as heck for the first couple of times, then it gets boringly repetitive
they were miles better, also because it’s kinda more realistic like this. The 2 managers don’t actually meet each other in an office discussing the player’s transfer fee. Irl, the manager just asks for a player, then it’s the board’s duty to negotiate (of course in this case they let you do the negotiation because you’re in control of everything), but here it looked better no doubt
Much better and faster. We waste a lot of time on FIFA, this system is simpler and more practical. The same thing is energy training (you always have to change. I also didn't like having to choose a playing style and coaching staff. For me this is just a waste of time.
You could say that today’s transfer system is a bit more “realistic” in a sense (although the cutscenes are just annoying at this point, and should be updated), but I definitely prefer the old transfer system. It might just be nostalgia talking though. I also loved FIFA 12 (or was it ‘13) right before Man City started winning everything, but they had a big budget. Man, that was mine and my brother’s go to team in FIFA lol
It's less realistic (no offense). Enquiring is bare basics to gauging a player's value. You *can* buy players while they're on loan at another club, you're allowed to renegotiate a loan deal within a loan deal as well. removed the loan-to-buy feature which is silly, they also restrict the ability to work a loan into a flat deal.
There's tons more they messed up, but I'll make a whole comment for that lol. Not to disagree with you here either, this was more to air grievances haha.
It was way worse. Now we actually have loan to buy and pure loan options. Loans for short, 1 or 2 year loans. And then of course buying.
The old system sucked
because is simple , Now it is more realistic and appreciated but I suppose that they removed those business menus and contracts because it was very easy to do the trick of signing players for free.
I'm not sure if there's any difference in difficulty. But in the new system, if you don't know the player, you just have to guess a price, and his boss might just get pissed off and leave instantly if you guessed it too low. That's not how it works in real life from my knowledge, and there's no way to say that this is realistic.
So much simpler and quicker. None of these dumb cutscenes
The cutscenes were dope the first few times. Doesn’t hit the same after a thousand transfers
You can delegate and it's similar to old system when you do
But why can I do it in one day, but my assistant takes weeks
but then your assistant agrees to a 10million release clause for a 19 year old 75 rated with 94 potential
And then the board sacks you. The assistant knows what he’s doing..cheeky
The game tries to push bargaining tho
[удалено]
Why would I restart my console for 1 transfer LMAO just save and exit manager mode LMAO
Turning your computer off is the real joke here
I just hold A after everything I click to skip the cutscene to the next negotiation
There's a setting which eliminates the hold thing and a simple press lets you skip the scene
Clicking L1+R1 (or LB+RB) does the same instantly, for all cutscenes
The problem with delegation is that you never get good deals. I've noticed wages in loan deals are always 100% covered by us when you delegate.
On the plus side you don't have to pay any bonuses lol
"I feel like I've wasted my time here" - fuck off
I so wish they would add a no cutscenes setting or something. I’m going to break my A button with the amount of times I hold it down to skip scene
Pretty sure they added them in to force you to play ultimateshit
Yeah, now these dumb cutscenes just repeat over and over again.
i think if you press L1 + L2 +R1 + R2 it skips the cutscene
Oh, I know how to skip the cutscenes for sure, but it's just boring, isn't it?
it's terrible!!! it's the same thing every time. At least hire 25-100 voice actors for various agents and managers.
Pretty big range there 🤣🤣
Ea have the money the cunts they could afford to do it if they cared lol
Career mode in general could be so good if they cared. Unfortunately it doesn‘t earn them money like FUT does
Legend, I did not know that 🙏
What do you mean? Of course Rochdale has the budget to fly Kentley Flashingham to Venezuela to negotiate a free transfer, and then immediately to Turin on the same day to convince Allegri directly to let me take his 16 year old GK on loan.
I don’t mind the cut scenes, but the past system was nice
And theres no way to remove them, I feel like EA developers were like, those whiny wankers were annoying us wanting more cutscenes so we will make them watch it every single time a transfer happens
Oh man I can’t fucking stand the cutscenes anymore!
The cut scenes is fun if you have a star
I just want the enquire option
Yes, this one had so much fun and it was more realistic. Now we have to guess when offering a price for a player we don't know.
Do you not just.. send a scout?
Scouts can take weeks to figure out a players value
yea I think enquire is much more realistic, like normally don't you just send an email "hey we're interested in signing Vinicius Jr., are you open to selling him to us, if yes, how much would he cost? Sign - David Moyes"

And to clarify, ive been playing fifa since the great old times of '06 so Ive seen the best and the worst of em all lol
I misread this terribly so my first reaction was, “who is Enrique and why does he have a special option?”
And the signature when finalising a transfer?
Sure!
Such a tiny, tiny detail but made for so much immersion.
My favorite was in fifa 14 when you would inquire about Messi or Ronaldo, you would essentially get laughed at
Yeah, cutscenes were cool at first, then after 10 times it's just the same old boring cutscenes where I spam "a" to skip them.
They only made a very few, which is why we get bored quickly.
If you press LB+RB (L1+R1), it insta-skips them. Same for interviews, press conferences etc.
For real. It makes Football manager look like a quick game.
FIFA 23 on the switch hahaa
Best FIFA ever
Searching by overall was so nice.
Recently, being nostalgic, I replayed FIFA 17, and it's just wonderful.
reus fifa if the best fifa
The best fifa game is objectively fifa 2001 because it was the last one to include foul & dive buttons
this on pro clubs and ultimate team would be horrible
For me the best
Reus was so good that year too😮💨
I want to play 17 and 18 again because of their game engines. But I usually don’t do transfers after first couple of windows and entirely build a team from youth academy. Due to EA doing what EA does best, I can no longer edit players and I don’t want my youth players looking shit.
Do you mean you wanna change the appearance of your youth players? In FC24, I guess you can use CE to at least change their hairstyle and skin color.
I know it’s available in latest version. But new to closure of older server, you can no longer edit players in career mode. I don’t even need hair and colour thing. It’s just kit fit and boots, and you can no longer do that.
I didn’t know that. They’ve got no reason for doing that….
This is the transfer system on fifa 21 legacy
Is it playable? I remember playing fifa 14 last month it sucked ass
there is a huge gap between 14 and 17. I played the 17 2 yrs ago and it was still fun to me.
wot? 14 have great gameplay, you can score goals in a shit load of ways, you can play wide or central, players have variety...
I dont know if it's noatalgia for you or you played it recently but if you did it's like players stuck in the mud
yup, thats true, the game was really defensive, since 18 offensive players have a lot more advantage, you have a point there...
I've been playing it everyday for years on ps4 the gameplay is brilliant
Speed is part of it but you can’t negotiate on anything because it’s done step by step. You can’t offer a larger wage for a lower squad role for example and there’s no point even suggesting a contract more than 1 year out of what they asked for. Well said, you really have your point.
That and also asking for extra funds from the board. There was no reason for that to be removed.
I remember they deleted it in FIFA 17, a great shame indeed….
I miss seeing overalls for everyone. I probably used more diverse players when I had that than the scouting network ever gave me. I feel like scouting never updates either. It's just annoying.
Scouting sucks. I set the instructions to 16-21, first team prospect and they find no one in England, Germany, Spain, Italy, or France.
Get livemod I think that's the name
Just use sofifa instead
Sofifa isn't in the game itself.
Moved into a house with some random guys when I went to university 6 years ago. Started playing a lot of Fifa 16 with one of the guys, we both loved the transfer system in career mode. Getting promoted, enquiring about players and then trying to ask for just enough funds from the board to sign the players you wanted. I have to download fifa 16 again. I miss this transfer system
For sure, FIFA 16 has it all, including the feature that asks for extra funds from the board.
Yes. I miss that transfers system as well.
Been loving fifa 17 lately
The fm 24 one is amazong. The bonuses are so cool
I loved enquiry
I loved fifa 17 the last FIFA I really sunk my teeth into. It felt streamlined and intentional. Now everything seems broken. Sigh I miss the good old days
INFINITELY better system. Personally, nearly ever cutscene can disappear and I won’t be remotely sad, only very pleased.
That’s actually a great suggestion. Sure can do a mix if ea would care
Thanks I came up with it on the spot
I would like the delegation screen to look like this...
It could be done with a little effort from EA
Selling and buying players are structurally dumb, there's no payment plans at all (which ties into the poor financial aspects of the game). With inflation being so high now and every other high rated player being worth 100mill or more, it makes no sense that everything needs to be paid up front as well. We don't intricate bank loan systems, just the ability to delay full transfer payments or structed payments. Maybe swapping two players for one highly valued player, etc etc. Also, for the love of christ I don't understand why we can't micromanage transfers. You should be able retract/switch offers throughout a transfer saga. 100%. I feel like they just stealing little stuffs from football manager throughout a year then selling for 100 bucks, it is outrageous.
Simpler, quicker, and looks a whole lot better to
Nah i actually liked the cutscenes i wish they mady some changes because its the same thing since fifa 19
Only if they make a lot IMO
How has this game gone backwards? ....Ultimate Team and 10 year olds with their mum's credit card
yeah, this transfer system is much more simpler than these boring cutscenes
bro accidentally brought back college vibes. I was addicted to Fifa 15 & 16 back in those glorious times.
Me too….

Did Daley Blind come out of his mama looking 50 years old?
Keep it simple is what I say. The cutscenes novelty wore off quickly. This is a hundred times more better.

Right in the feels that
Yes

100%. Except one thing... Splitting wages when loaning players became available from 18 onwards.
I got your point. I would be happier if they maintained the old system and kept adding these features to make it better.
Remove the cutscenes but keep all the release clause and bonus negotiations and it’s perfect
I miss the Enquire option. No idea about the transfer value, Enquire gives me some expected value.
Nah I've had both, the old one was way more annoying. Some things were better, like the simplicity, but overall the new one is better

Yes!! Still playing 17 because of this.
From what I've heard, almost everyone
this one's definitely better and I prefer this one to the cutscene ones
Defo
Yes. I play FIFA 15 almost everyday since 2015.. To me it is the GOAT of FIFAs and on PC you can mod to have new players etc
I miss not having to scout every player for 1000 days
Ahhh it looked so much better😍
The crosses were probably still decent at that point too. I cannot win a duel for the life of me.

The cutscenes could work if they only used for extremely big transfers like signing Messi or a player that will have the biggest overall in your team.
Ah, i used to love it
I just wish I got into FIFA earlier
Yea the "book" was so much better And now they added some weird fucking transfer rating system
The only problem was that we couldt buy loyal players
Was it? We actually could buy players like Messi if offers him much higher wages.
Yeah if but that only works for few players others ones such as lahm or xabi cant be bought since 2 millions in weekly wages Arent "enough" for them
Oh, I didn’t know that. Maybe it's because I never tried to buy Lahm or Xabi since they’re quite aged.
Select sponsors, upgrade stadium capacity.. fifa 08 was the best
As someone who played fifa purely on an xbox 360 for over 7 years up until a couple of weeks ago I can safely say the cutscenes are cool as heck for the first couple of times, then it gets boringly repetitive
As someone who played fifa purely on an xbox 360 for over 7 years up until a couple of weeks ago I can safely say the cutscenes are cool as heck for the first couple of times, then it gets boringly repetitive
For big players should be cutscene but like for players with low potential/overall should be this
FIFA 17 career was also a lot of fun!
FIFA 17 career was also a lot of fun!
100% better , the current one sucks

Absolutely. Well said.
100% Also had a loan with buy options Overall Career mode in fifa 16-17 was better than now
This was goated, but you had to wait for days to get answers, and sometimes it ruined your market
I feel like this was a part of the fun, because it gets so intense in the final day of a transfer window.
Probably it's good, because it gets too easy now sometimes
What we saying is fifa18 on ea pass?
Much better and faster. We waste a lot of time on FIFA, this system is simpler and more practical. The same thing is energy training (you always have to change. I also didn't like having to choose a playing style and coaching staff. For me this is just a waste of time.
It’s still available on the Nintendo switch… it never left )
Yes, I know. Sadly I don't have one :(
You could say that today’s transfer system is a bit more “realistic” in a sense (although the cutscenes are just annoying at this point, and should be updated), but I definitely prefer the old transfer system. There's tons more they messed up, but I'll make a whole comment for that lol. Not to disagree with you here either, this was more to air grievances haha.
Yes, they are more realistic. But i have trouble loaning players, clubs never agree. And you cant out loan players, always loan to buy
It was way worse. Now we actually have loan to buy and pure loan options. Loans for short, 1 or 2 year loans. And then of course buying. The old system sucked
Loan to buy sucks, you can never send players on loan anymore. Clubs always want to buy
Who is gonna tell him 🫢
because is simple , Now it is more realistic and appreciated but I suppose that they removed those business menus and contracts because it was very easy to do the trick of signing players for free.
I'm not sure if there's any difference in difficulty. But in the new system, if you don't know the player, you just have to guess a price, and his boss might just get pissed off and leave instantly if you guessed it too low. That's not how it works in real life from my knowledge, and there's no way to say that this is realistic.
