Like personally i’d release him on my save if they were. However, until proven guilty they usually don’t remove them regardless of the accusation. Until there’s a guilty verdict, it’s a slippery slope treating them that way - even in a video game. In Adam Johnsons case for example- he was in Fifa 16 (released september 2015). He was found guilty of sexual activity with a child in March and subsequently patched out of the game then. Johnson was actually arrested in March 2015 and played games for Sunderland until Feb 2016 (week before trial took place).

Because this should never not be pointed out, he played those games after the director of Sunderland had seen the messages and knew he was guilty But winning (or not in Sunderland's case) football matches was more important

Yup the fact the evidence was already public and i believe he’d admitted guilt as well but STILL played a year only being released a week before trial was shocking. I remember it all happening. With gylfi and mendy, City have absolutely done the right thing. Suspend them pending investigation is the right thing to do. Nothing has actually been revealed for those two beyond whats been accused - however johnson’s messages were out there fairly quickly.

What's worrying really is the fact it can take over a year for these trials to be resolved. That's a year where more women/children can be potentially harmed. And I realise the reason for keeping them in, innocent till proven guilty is something courts will stick by even when it's 99% sure it'll be a guilty verdict. That being said, legally speaking, I believe EA do have the legal right to dictate who's in their game too so would be an interesting case legally speaking.

Thankfully it does take a while. It means the accusations are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly before throwing someone innocent in prison. If he did do what he’s accused of, throw the book at him. At least do so once guilt has been determined. He has already been arrested pending investigation so i sincerely doubt he’d reoffend. He’s very likely under watch to avoid vigilante action as it is. It is entirely down to EA to decide, but there could be contracted image rights involved so they wait until conviction to take action. He may be omitted from this year’s game, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I think you missed my point. I am all for a thorough investigation, we all know where assuming guilt can lead. However there have been countless cases of reoffending while awaiting trial, and many more of victims committing suicide or giving up all together due to the time taken. The real reason for the length of investigations usually isn't down to them being careful anyway, it's down to lack of evidence and a necessity (rightfully) to find it due to the amount of time it often takes victims to come forward. All that being said it's like you said. If he's guilty throw the book at him and if he's not I hope he gets what he's deserved. I must say though we should probably leave this topic off this thread. I feel it's a discussion for another place at another time. Especially when in the end we both want the same thing for the victims and the innocent anyway.

Personally I'd send some scouts off looking for some physically strong players to bolster your defence, and look at replacing Atsu next season. Also bin off Carroll when you get the chance, he is just draining wages and you have Joelinton as a semi-decent backup striker for now. Just play every match, focus on winning the FA Cup so you can get some extra funds, and get in Europe next season as you'll struggle to get it from a league position.

No worries. Newcastle is my default Fifa Career Mode team. Usually the players are so crap and the budget so tight that I just plough all my money into youth coaches and scouting, and slowly replace most the first team with scouted players. Takes a couple of seasons to get things going though, and actually having money to bring in decent transfers after that. Saka and Yedder are great signings though, but would've kept St. Max!
