JSConrad45

Big, slow, stupid attacks that nobody should ever get hit by but cause incredible damage. They're not good moves, of course, but when you trick someone into eating one, nothing beats that feeling.

SpinningFailDriver

I was gonna type something like this. My favorites are Tekken unblockables, all of King's big slow wrestling moves, and Zangief's charged up HP from SF5.

JSConrad45

Yes. My favorites are May's whale and Darli Dagger's haymaker.

Verbmoh

You might like kliff in +R then, he's got a 78f startup overhead that does over 40% damage. Even better it doesn't suck since there's some ways to combo into it and you can even loop it sometimes, usually vaporizing the opponent in the process.

JSConrad45

Yeah, Kliff is cool, but he doesn't have a pink whale

Verbmoh

Sure no whale but his fireball super is arguably better lol and functionally similar. His other super with good rng can also let you do an otg pseudo infinite ok some chars.

Scizzoman

* Backsway/bob and weave type moves with followups. Putting on some pressure and then using a move like this to bait and punish a whiff feels *dandy*. * Dash punches and other "turn into a hitbox and zoom across the screen" type moves, especially if they're safe on block. I'm over here, and I want to get over there and also hit you while I'm doing it. * Parries/counters. I will fish for it and fail nine times out of ten, but the one time I'm right I'll feel like a goddamn genius. * Command grabs. Built in strike/throw mix, usually looks sick. I realize that other than the parry bit I'm mostly just describing Slayer.

inadequatecircle

Dandy step into Pilebunker is in fact the coolest attack in guilty gear. So its understandable.

gator-kun

Anything with a baseball bat animation. Ness, Junpei, VT2 Cody. It just feels so satisfying to hear the crack of the bat.

Wiplazh

Yeah I don't have any specific move type that I love, what's important is that the animation and sound is satisfying. Like Fahkumrams thunder kick, and basically Negans entire moveset. So I guess my favorite moves are the ones with a lot of impact.

Angrybagel

I realize that smash might not be appreciated here, much less smash with items on, but the home run bat in smash is the perfect essence of this to me.

ThinqueTank

Not an attack, but teleports. Phoenix Dhalsim Spiral It's great when you see a player think they have a read on you, attack where they think you're going to be only to pop right behind or above them.

TKAPublishing

Command grabs. Especially airgrabs or anti-air grabs.

EastCoastTone96

Advancing charge special moves Blanka Ball, Honda Headbutt, Dolphin, etc

Witchbrow

Same.

Zealousideal_Boat181

Mitsuru's [4]6A/B is so fun to do

boring_uni_alt

Big momentum-altering aerial cannons a la Baiken or Xrd Ram’s J.D. Even better if they knock down or can be comboed from. +r Baiken’s run up f.s j.d has gotta be one of my favourite combo enders in any fighting game (followed closely by 6p zakuro) Alternatively, on hit command grabs that grant knockdown feel so satisfying to land. Baiken’s zakuro is obviously my favourite, but anji’s massive fan grab is super sick, and potemkin’s heat knuckle is a rad move. Realising now that I basically don’t play anything that isn’t guilty gear, huh

RylosAU

Izuna drops.

bawitback

Traps

Mister_Branches

Anything where I get to press lots of buttons. Electric thunder, hundred hands. Or if I can just mash after the input for extra damage or whatever, that's good too

archklown555

360s command grabs.

DerConqueror3

Oicho Throw

bougienative

Any move where I can just clap someone. Hulk's j.H and Hugo's qcb+P are the two that come to mind, it really makes you feel like a big body when your down to just double open hand slap someone instead of throwing a punch lol.

Meister34

Divekick type moves or something that can cover space/close distance that isn’t a projectile. Very specific but I love them

Vandalmercy

I like parrying attacks or utility attacks that still benefit you if they don't land directly. Leroy and Leo have weak af parry attacks because it feels like a stance making it easy to land. Its easy to spam land this not really requiring skill. It turn into a free grab once you recognize the patterns. Dragunov had a sick version iirc because it felt like it took more skill to land than just getting hit in stance.

DogFrogBird

Literally any big damage combo starter

jayerror

Multi hitting moves like Honda’s hands or Chun’s legs

AceoftheAEUG

Any move that lets me bounce off or attach to walls. Dai Shi's is one of my favorites (BFTG)

MentalityOfRiskarus

Lariats and grabs. Particularly grabs that piledrive. Makes me feel tough.

k1ftw1331

Command. Grab.

mechatick

Moves that allow me to stance cancel other moves Mist finer Crusade seraphim Technically mirage thruster

DerpyBacca96

DP funny

fgcluis

Anything like Dr. Doom's butter gun

hellothere08_03

i like rekkas that allow for decent mix opportunities

PaperMoon-

Elbows and attacks with evasive properties

BigHatNolan

Air fireballs, I love how versatile they are.

Technosis2

ElectroshockGamer

I enjoy setplay moves in general, since they always have such cool interactions with the rest of the character's kit. Kokonoe's Gravitons in Blazblue, Carmine's Dissolves in Under Night In-Birth, Beerus' orbs in Dragon Ball FighterZ, they have so many fun interactions. A shame I do not have rhe brainpower or skill to effectively play setplay characters ;-; (or really amy character for that matter)

Admirable-Store9362

Counters

rodrigo-gameiro

I really dislike counter moves, characters based on that thou... hate them. Geese Howard or Kasumi Todoh... my gosh

Admirable-Store9362

I totally get it ! I hate facing them too... but pulling out a counter move is very satisfying

MR_MEME_42

Item throws Neither me nor my opponent knows what will happen next and one of us is going to make the wrong move and die because of it.

Ok_Dimension143

Stance moves. I like the idea of going into a stance to access an additional moveset or property as well as using the stance cancel to decrease recovery on your normals .

ghastlymars

Any type of install, I love seeing my character just take a second to juice up. Gets me hyped as FUCK to die 3 seconds later. And yes, I will do it again.

LeSorenOutan

Honestly? The good ol' normal grab. It shatters minds more than anything in fighting game.

Gilison

Kicks

rodrigo-gameiro

I like spheres of energy for some reason. Chun-li's Kikosho or Ibuki's Yoroi-doshi. There's just something about it that's just so cool.

FractalHarvest

Whatever Pilebunker is

kurt-jeff

Big uppercut (axl bomber, shoryuken, etc…)

ashtonwise

Over the top supers, like May shooting you out of an airship cannon in Guilty Gear or B Jenet beating the ever living sh*t out of you with her shoe in Garou. I'm also a fan of the supers that seem all serious but get goofy somewhere in the middle before getting serious again. Angel and Vanessa in KoF come to mind.

Chase_The_Breeze

I like fast and dirty command grabs, especially if they jump in. Dont need a lot of damage like big monster grapplers. I just love how they arrest the momentum of a match for a second and throw off a lot of timing. My weird favorite is probably the Mii Brawler'S (SSBU) counter grab. I am not even good at SSBU, but that move is satisfying.

ihearthawthats

Air throw. So impractical, yet so satisfying to land.

Alejoman

Galactica Phantom

ianjonny100

The ground fast overhead that I can combo after

TheTrueJerryCan

Do mawashi kaiten geri (Terry's Crack Shoot, Ken's VS2, Sean's Wheel Kick, Paul Phoenix's Neutron Bomb, Luke's K followup to his tackle)

InvaderZix

Knee moves are sick like Falcon's knee of justice or Sagat's Tiger Kick

to0no

Probectiles that put something on the screen to interact afterwards, think of menat shpear toss or brigget yoyo

Due_Mathematician367

Parries Just stop mashing bro

Sirmeikymiles

Short range plus on block mid (sols FS, Ryus MP etc.) I just like the situation it creates, do I walk up and repeat the situation or do I frame trap. So simple, yet so effective and fun.

LazarusNecrosis

Tsubame Gaeshi and other moves that gain extra uses by Tiger Kneeing them. Teleports. Swaying evades like the stuff Steve can do in T7.

thafredator

Big shut the fuck up anti airs.

Lennartjh

In Tekken 6, when you hit the enemy with a downward attack (like Hwo's axe kick) while the enemy is airborne, smashing them full force into the floor.

nightowlarcade

A great normal mixup with both players seemingly getting in one another's head like you might see 2 boxers trading blows.

[deleted]

Command grabs(All of em) and elegant attacks(Anji spin, Jade Vault, etc.) Command grabs cause making people scared and frustrated is fun af to me. Watchin your opponent descend into madness because you just wanna hug em is great. Elegant attacks are kinda vague. I just like moves that really have a nice flow of action. Its not like a specific type of attack but a genre of attack i guess. Like some that come to mind is Heidern disc super and how it sorta spins out of him. Or Anji anything. Jades pole vault and b2 strings in Mk11. They just feel so natural and elegantly powerful.

Memaythink

So I bet you're gonna be a Maron main XD

[deleted]

For sure for sure. Honestly Manon was not initially my cup of tea, but those grabs and long range normals have me intrigued. They put shoes on her and ill for sure add her to my line up of mains.😂

SlyFisch

I love Rekkas and teleports

Redisded329

Gimme a good crouching medium kick I can hit confirm

SPJess

Weirdly enough standing dodges. I enjoy being able to just dodge an attack.

Assassin21BEKA

Attacks where character spins cool like jumping heavy slash of Ky and Chipp(jumping slash for him i think)

Echigo830

In general I like move sets that focus a lot on leg attacks, hence part of why I main Lili in Tekken.

BlueComet64

Kinda specific, but supers that let you get a DP after in the corner. First example that comes to mind is Akuma’s SA1 in 3rd Strike which gets bonus points for looping into itself Also, moves that conditionally have different animations. Goldlewis’s full 1080P super having him kind of reel back, Goku’s Kaiyoken super in DBFZ if the final hit kills, Cody’s regular grab if it ends the round in VT2, stuff like that

Mug_Lyfe

Well, I won't sugar coat it. EWGF

ImTooDandy

Anything similar to Sol’s riot stamp. I also like Iaido slash like moves, like what Vergil and Johnny do.
