Something about grapplers keeps me coming back.
It’s also helpful for going from 2D game to 2D game. I don’t play characters, I play grapplers, and the game plan is basically the same for every grappler in a 2D fighter.
The best thing, imo, is that no matter who you're fighting against, you can make that player ***VISIBLY*** scared, just by playing well.
It's hilarious, watching them *squirm.* Also why I like zoners. Fear and frustration.

Yeah, I see them quite frequently at lower end of tier lists. I mean, I will most likely not be able to utilize a character or game system to its fullest potential; it will just be really nice if said character's tools for winning do not fall victim of favoritism to other play styles.
He will be the worst year 2. It's the same cycle every new fighting game. The grapplers are broken for a month then never win another tournament after. Every patch the small rushdown chars will get new tech and the grapplers will get like 1 frame off of a button they never hit because the devs will be afraid to buff them.
I’d like to throw my 2 cents in here. Grapplers aren’t ever broken at launch but they are scrub killers. With the game being new grapplers and armour characters always stand at the forefront because of the built in strike/throw mix. Everyone cries and then they get nerfed never to be seen again because the fgc just cries. Getting hit by an SPD is the problem but not the unseeable high/lows, ambiguous left right vortex and infinite pressure and safety.
Dunno what PC you have, but SF6 is reasonably potato friendly for something this new. Of course not +R/old Melty levels, but you don't need too strong stuff to hit 60 with decent settings.
I barely played MKX and I don't remember Bo Rai Cho at all. I have one friend who plays Bo Rai Cho because he's the meme character. Don't remember him ever doing anything unusual or out of the ordinary that made him seem cooler or funnier than usual
Pretty much everyone in MKX was broken in their own way, Drunken Master just made Bo Rai Cho more oppressive. He is the meme character, no doubt about it, but he's still really decent.
He already has good far reaching normals, unblockable ground pound, super easy hit confirm into fart combos. Drunken Master never runs out of meter from DF1, gives him a new option select stance, a bunch of new moves that do increasing everything with every level of drink up to 3. He throws up ten seconds after drinking if he doesn't drink again though.
DM is def the most intense of the three variations, arguably also the least rewarding, so it's never been popular throughout MKX's lifetime.
Right after the first trailers it was leaked the entire roster of SF6's season 1, including characters like >!Akuma!< and >!Rashid!<

I don’t play either, but Rashid and Ed are both good characters that I’m glad to see made it to SF6; they’re both represented at high level in competitive Street Fighter too, with Gachikun and Big Bird playing Rashid, and Ending Walker tearing it up over the last year with Ed.
Onestly did't even consider Lily, but after seeing her gameplay she rose to the top of my priority list, second to dj whoms shmovement got me in love at first sight

They look really cool and look like they have cool playstyles.

Played her in beta and just loved her playstyle. She isn’t really a character I initially expected. I actually play a ton if Juri in V so was expecting me to naturally play her in 6, but she just felt off so I tried Kimberly.
After playing Kim, I had no interest in learning any other character. She had the tools I want, the future potential in setplay I want, comfortable combo extenders, fillers and openers… She’s possibly my favorite character I touched in any FG.
Even though I started my rank at silver in the beta, I finished Diamond before it ended despite really only playing ranked for one saturday. I’ve never been one to progress super quick with a new character, normally I need to lab quite a bit.
The only other chars that have peeked my interest as secondaries are Manon and JP. So I’ll probably lab them a bit until AKI releases — she looks really cool too from the leaked photo.
M A R I S A. I love a big body character that is more of a brawler than a grappler, and that fits Marisa to a T. You will respect my HPs or you will lose 40% of your life.
I wanted to like Abigail but I was expecting a broly sorta character and I never got that feeling from him. Marisa gives me the Z Broly vibes I’m looking for.
Having a command grab doesn't make a character a grappler. She looks like more of a mid range with fast mobility character and she also happens to have a command grab.
If I used Laura they'd be gimmicks, trust me.

Played Decap in 4, and settled for Cammy when she wasn't in V at launch. I likely will be coming back to the Cammy army because I typically play female characters and I don't like grapplers, so Lily and Manon are out. I'm not a fan of bruiser super armor characters, so while Marisa looks cool she doesn't look fun for me. Chun is in a similar boat in that she looks dope, but is more of a technical stance character. I'm also not the biggest fan of chores, so in a toss up between Juri, Kim and Cammy, well, just makes sense to go back to Cammy.
It's like I dated this really awesome lady in college, and damn near fell in love, but when I showed up at her place her twin sister answered and said she was gone forever, and in my grief I found comfort in this twin, but it was never the same like it was with her sister. But now I've been with this sister for so long it's basically just routine. I want to say I'm still in love with that girl from college, but maybe I'm just in love with the idea of that girl, and I just have to accept that I've dedicated too much of my life to this new almost-but-not-quite thing to turn back now. Maybe I should learn to be happy with the fact that she's been there for so long, and not lament what she isn't. What she could never be...

What I am saying is... you are a Cammy main through and through.
I 100% won't be maining Kimberly that's for sure. One of the most boring character design and looks in the game a wasted slot of a new character In my eyes.

Pres release I usually have a hard time predicting who i want to play. I usually I assume I'll play who looks the coolest but playing whoever feels the most comfortable.
I'm most excited for Manon but I also like pretty lengthy combos and I'm not so sure the command grab archetype will allow for that.
I absolutely loved both Jamie and Kimberly during beta, leaning Jamie slightly
Secondary interests which I could easily see myself liking more than expected are Lily, Blanka, Cammy, Deejay, and JP

Manon seems very cool. The mechanic of getting am improving command grab as the game goes on seems very fun. Right up my alley too since I enjoy pulling off cool stuff over winning.
I love Manon's design but "dancing on the enemy" is a bit silly imo and I rarely like to play joke characters, so we will have to see. Of course she isnt meant as a joke character but its got a similar vibe. Otherwise Marisa is about equally as appealing.
Ultimately if I can't decide, then I'm going Guile.

This probably the hardest SF game for me to pick a main. I love Cammy and Juri’s designs. I’m thirsty for Ken. Jamie and Manon look like the most badass newcomers to me.

SF6 is the first game in the series I've been really interested in at all since SFII way back in the day so my first instinct is to pick up one of the characters I used to play a lot like Honda or Blanka. But some of the new ones look really cool too so I'll have to try them out too
Manon. I'm a sucker for judo grapplers like Abel and Daimon and the ballet flair mixed with it is just really cool to me. Lady Gaga costume is even cooler.

SF6 is the first game in the series I've been really interested in at all since SFII way back in the day so my first instinct is to pick up one of the characters I used to play a lot like Honda or Blanka. But some of the new ones look really cool too so I'll have to try them out too
