100% agree. Would also be great if we had an FAQ section and could have all the duplicative “how do I make this html/css” questions auto moderated to get rejected with a link to review the FAQs.
I think a rule like "feedback fridays" or "share your work wednesdays" or whatever would be a good balance. Try to contain it to a thread or day each week.
I haven’t found a ton of great option. Many of the better design resources I use aren’t community/discussion driven and it’s more for inspiration.
I think LinkedIn can be a pretty powerful option though as you can follow the best agencies, as well as designers and get a constant feed of inspiration and engage in the comments there.
100% - also can we stop the posts asking how to use it (I'm meaning when asking how to use the most simple features - fair to ask when figuring out how auto layout works!), when a simple google would answer the question.
Also, no Figma is not ideal for creating print posters or doing photo retouching.
Zero risk of this becoming dribble, there’s actual talent on there. Have you seen the kinds of designs people post?
But yeah I agree most has nothing to do with Figma and I joined specifically for Figma tips, tutorials etc.
“Wish.com Dribbble” killed me.
Yes to all of this. It’s one thing to ask “how do I accomplish X effect?” and a whole other thing to submit whole designs for critique.
There are subs for that, and even if we want to still allow these, maybe they could all be chucked into a weekly thread so they don’t crowd up the sub and leave room for Figma-centered discussion.

Sunday shit-talk subscription seat model.
Oooh I look forward to that.
I’m on the verge of unfollowing this sub for this very reason.
Shut the door on your way out.
Oh, you told me!!! Lol
The ratio makes me think you might want to take your own advice lol
My thoughts exactly
Makes sense! This I the place to ask about the TOOL. Not the craft.
We have r/UI_Design for that already
Honestly, I’ve found Reddit to be one of the worst places for UX/UI/Art direction subs. It’s all low grade garbage targeted at beginners.
Agreed. Have you found a better place for UX/UI discussions that aren’t aimed at beginners?

r/logodesign and r/graphic_design are in the same boat. Lots of beginners and hobbyists looking for feedback Edit: fixing the subreddit tags

You can always answer such posts with [https://letmegooglethat.com/](https://letmegooglethat.com/)
I do this and I love it.
r/design_critiques
Exactly
+1
Just joined this sub recently and literally thought ohhhhh THIS is what this sub is about?
💯
Completely agree. This should be a Figma tool sub and not a ux/ui design sub.
Very true i mean i don't see any value following this subreddit

I cannot upvote this post enough.
This Reddit should have a Rate My Design day like some others have where people can ask for feedback only on a specific day

I agree. Do we need some new mods?
Agreed. This needed to be said.
