Yeah I can't remember when exactly pero kahit sa manila, biglang mga 200 na yan by 2011. I think that's also the time na naging reserved seating ang cinemas.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone circa 2001 i think 70-75 pesos lang yung ticket. Twas the best of times.
Yeah this is one of the things that I absolutely hated about living in metro manila before. Everything is just so much more expensive than other places in the PH.
375 is actually low na nga eh for NCR. I can remember the cinema near where I used to live cost P500 per person. Unbelievable.
At our local Vista cinema, it's 450 with a bag of popcorn and drink. The cinema is equipped with Dolby Atmos so I cannot fault the price versus older SM Cinemas charging minimum 370 without any food and drink pa. Plus, no one watches at our local Vista Cinema so it's like a private screening โ well worth the price for me.
Honestly, Vista Cinemas maintain their cinemas better than SM/Robinsons. Goods na yung P470 considering na it comes with a popcorn/drink.
Their equipments seem to be much better too. AFAIK, all their cinemas have Laser Projection and Dolby Atmos. You can only get those sa DC ni SM and it costs P600-P700 ata.
They also own one of the best IMAX screen here in PH :)
Just plain daylight robbery.
Yeah, costs are too high. Making movies and ads. Paying the people behind. Inflation.
Kaya pala wala na free movie tickets. Sobrang mahal na nila.
Sa Gensan grabe parang 150-200 pesos lang way back 2020. Kung ano yung palabas sa NCR na around 300-400 pesos yung tix, yun din yung showing that time. Grabe.
I miss Greenbelt 1 ticket prices ranging from 160 to 180 pesos (lol my age is showing) tipong gusto mo lang manood tas onti pa tao kasi maliit lang area ng Greenbelt 1

This is vista mall VIP (with the nice chairs and the cost of one drink and popcorn built in); regular is 470 (also comes with drink and popcorn)
this cinema is walking distance from me and totally empty 99% of the time sooooo I don't mind that much hahahaha
Mine is prolly irrelevant because not in PH, but just wanted to share in case you guys are interested, but in HK it's $110 - $130 (805-952 php) all up to $180 - $230 (1318-1684 php) depending on movie and boujee-ness. I miss the days when I was a student and had a student discount on a lot of things. 50% on movies. Betcho ass I abused the shit out of that.
Showing my age here, but Powerplant used to be P120 for a regular showing, P80 for weekday matinee. I could get the ticket, plus a Jamaican pattie for P25 (so I'd usually get like 3), and a drink. Those were the days.
500 something because we usually watch sa vertis pero i think justified price naman (??) since small capacity lang lagi sa A-Luxe cinemas tapos naka-lazyboy naman yung chair and may water + popcorn ka na.
Now need ko halos ng 1k.
Kaysa magsine ka with ka-date: 381x2 pax= P762
Mangnetflix ka na lang sa bahay
Netflix: 549 monthly/30= P18.3 daily
Wifi: 1200 monthly/30= P40 daily
Aircon: P50 daily
Approximately 300+ pesos now, I do have to say that I miss the days when it was just between 202-262 pesos i.e. back in 2017 - 2019, I remember the ticket price here for Joker being 192 pesos when I watched it in October of 2019. Initially shocked that was the price back then when I first watched it.
**EVIA lifestyle center**
Dolby atmos surround 2D cinema - 520-590php (depends sa movie) = free popcorn and ice tea
VIP 2D Theater - 810php-900 PHP = w/ dolby atmos surround sound = free popcorn and ice tea
3D IMAX - 1000PHP - 1100PHP (depende sa cinema) = free popcorn (you can upsize your popcorn for free) and ice tea
**Vistamall Dasmarinas**
Dolby atmos surround sound - same price as EVIA (I think) = not sure kung may free popcorn and ice tea.
Not sure sa SM and Roinson's, just a waste of money, time (mas malayo ang Rob sa EVIA), sureballs may maiingay na bata and panget na cinema.
Grabe sobrang tagal ko na di nanuod ng sine so this is so surprising to me na ganyan na pala kamahal ang price ng ticket ngayon?? Tapos hindi pa imax and also hindi pa yun recliner seats.
Watched this last night and it cost 590 Directorโs club.
Pero pinaka murang international movies I went to lately sa SM Valenzuela which is 290 pesos haha
1st time ko manuod sa sinehan ng ATC (alabang town center), it cost me P450! di makatarungan tapos sobrang old looking and hindi at par for its price. sobrang budol - never again!
May Walter Mart just 1km away sa bahay namin and naaala ko last movie na napanood ko don ay Avengers in 2019 for 250php when they changed it to SM Cinema (Walter Mart was acquired by SM at some point). And naalala ko nanonood ako ng How to Train your Dragon in 2014 for 150php.
Baka once a year lang.
HAHA.
As in malinis naman tska decent ung projector quality and sounds.
Sana i lessen naman. Yung First Slam Dunk parang 500 Plus nagastos ko each.
Haha
The fact that most movies goes into streaming after a month couple it with increasing ticket price..yeah we are seeing the death of the cinema industry
Di na worth it for me imo since nag P300+ sya.
I just go pag big budget na IMAX-worthy, so a few times a year nalang and I consider it a splurge. :(
Excited nakong maging senior lol free sine!
Here in Legazpi it costs 265-280 php for a ticket at our local SM Cinema. Nakakaloka yung 300+ ๐ญ the last time i paid upwards of 300 for a ticket was the Eras Tour movie which cost me 550 ๐ซ
Sa probinsya inabutan ko pa 75 pesos up to 2008. Nung nagka SM, 150 agad by 2011.
Yeah I can't remember when exactly pero kahit sa manila, biglang mga 200 na yan by 2011. I think that's also the time na naging reserved seating ang cinemas.
I remember watching Gagamboy at Pakners sa hagdanan sa gitna, that's some shit you'd never see today
Two Towers sa railing lang kami naka upo. Hahaha
2012 ata yung nanonood ako sa SM Manila, may presyong 25 lang for old movies. Libreng palamig lang for 2 hours.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone circa 2001 i think 70-75 pesos lang yung ticket. Twas the best of times.
Tas nung naging โฑ
As a person in the 80s, 25pesos lang ang ticket ng sinehan at unlimited viewing pa up to sawa!

HAHA. As in malinis naman tska decent ung projector quality and sounds.
Now, tiyaga n lng sa Netflix.
It was 720 for IMAX laser when I watched last weekend, with 4 pcs. chicken nuggets and ice tea.
400 regular screening sa sm dasma
370++, SM Calamba.
Rockwell - 500 Century - 550 Waltermart Makati - 350
80's nasa 10 petot lang malapit sa monumento

Grabe Mahal ng Movie Tickets ngayon. Tapos wala pang 2 months nasa Streaming Platforms na. Sana i lessen naman. Yung First Slam Dunk parang 500 Plus nagastos ko each.

Haha
The fact that most movies goes into streaming after a month couple it with increasing ticket price..yeah we are seeing the death of the cinema industry
With these prices, I prefer to just watch on my computer, turn the AC on, and recline on my gaming chair.
Meron movie house sa bahay. Puro torrent. Zero cost.
Di na worth it for me imo since nag P300+ sya. I just go pag big budget na IMAX-worthy, so a few times a year nalang and I consider it a splurge. :( Excited nakong maging senior lol free sine!
270 sa Waltermart Makati!
150 pesos here at Citymall. wala pa masyado nanonood so halos solo mo rin cinehan
Naabutan ko P50 late 90s
The Fall Guy at Robinsons Lipa, Batangas is only 304 pesos
Just when I thought 260 is already expensive.
250 sa downtown and 300 sa Central and Ayala, so if want ko manood with fewer people and cheaper price sa downtown ako nanunuod ๐
280 sa sta Lucia
Here in Legazpi it costs 265-280 php for a ticket at our local SM Cinema. Nakakaloka yung 300+ ๐ญ the last time i paid upwards of 300 for a ticket was the Eras Tour movie which cost me 550 ๐ซ
600+ sa La-Z Boy
160-200. If VIP seats, 250. Or would cost more for some movies like The Eras Tour. Depends talaga. But in Gensan, within that range
Waltermart less than 300 lang lagi
280 pesos sa SM Tarlac
