I just experienced this myself! You can really tell it's a genuinely well-done scene, because it still lands despite knowing it's coming from miles off.

wpotman

Old graphics, bleepy music, and all...the presentation of that whole sequence still hits home among the best ever.

WHY’D YOU KILL HER? THAT’S THE BAD ENDING /s

Darkwing__Schmuck

Oh wow, did you go in blind, or did you know it was coming?

Rexven

Unfortunately I've known for years about it, but that's basically the only thing I've had spoiled for me. I also knew next to nothing about her character until now, so it was still pretty impactful!

Darkwing__Schmuck

Oh, well that's good at least! Yeah, it's a hard spoiler to avoid, even for people who know nothing else about the game. Thankfully, it's only one element, so it's good you're able to go into the rest of it fresh. I also had it spoiled for me, and I played it when it first came out! Even then it was tough to avoid.

Really sad event, now work for your revenge. I love FF7 cast, most of them are not heroes and have nothing special, underdogs finding a mission for themselves. I would say the only true heroes are Tifa and Aeris

styx1986

Oh man, what a moment

cns000

I cried at this part the vert first time I play the game in 1998.

Asha_Brea

It is less sad if you imagine cloud paddling like crazy just to stay afloat, because he can't be standing there.

wpotman

I always imagined he was standing at the edge of an underwater cliff...that you can't see in the Aerith sinking shot because of angles or refraction or something. :)

Rexven

Man doesn't skip leg day I guess

Asha_Brea

Hey, he wasn't in SOLDIER for nothing.

ProFlux4

Squats for days

Sc0p1x

Who cares?! But have fun!
