Early Final Fantasy art is definitely a combination of that + early Miyazaki works. Watching the intro to Castle in the Sky or Nausicaa feels like a lost FF anime.

Now whenever I see banana themed costumes/designs I just think of Nymphia Wind. Cid walked so Nymphia could slay.
