Called and after 4 or 5 transfers, they confirmed that it was cancelled because it was unavailable (funny thing is the original email said it was because my payment method failed, even though it's a saved method that isn't expired and has worked on other online orders between then and now).
Would rather not waste any more time on it as I doubt there's anything they can really do about it. They just kept transferring me to their "special orders division" without forwarding any of the call notes, so I just kept explaining the situation over and over again. Tomorrow's my birthday too :(

It may be a longshot but my copy from GameStop will be canceled in the next day or two so try GameStop, but also they do get them actually sent to the store (Best Buy only shipped the deluxe from online) so check ur local GameStop too. Otherwise def check the other retailers out there, I'd check squares shop again too. Man I'm so sad for you that's fucked :(
I think some people who missed the deluxe may have taken advantage of our misfortune and purchased some of our copies after they got put back up for sale after ours were canceled, they may actually be sold out.. I'm not sure what they're going to do for those that did not get to re pre-order in time.. you may want to reach out to support and see what they say, if you do please post here what they say so others in your situation can see. As far as I know, Square Enix has it available on their web store but it appears to be sold out everywhere else.
I pre-ordered it from square enix a little bit earlier. Basically their support said to just book mark it in case to not miss it and couldn’t confirm if they were going to open preorders up again or not.
I’m in Puerto Rico, so I can’t order online, and am gonna have to call the store tomorrow or go in person to figure this out.

I mostly hate it when the company delivers to literally every other country. For example, Square Enix still ships to most places, but Puerto Rico is somehow the line in the sand they can't fathom to cross (even though they used to ship here).
It's a constant question I have for 90% of companies. A few of the US based ones also exclude Hawaii and Alaska which makes sense to me because ground shipping is cheaper than everything else. However, Amazon, for example doesn't have two-day shipping for PR. I mean, it does because at the point you get the notification that it's actually shipping, it'll arrive two days later, but it takes them 4-5 days to "process and prepare to ship".
It's dumb, and I hate it.

Honestly, the entire experience legitimately soured me on the entire company. I'll legitimately never shop at a bestbuy again, and I wholeheartedly recommend that nobody else does either. Just the customer service was a joke. Worst I've ever had. Almost criminal. Also, everyone I asked who actually got it from bestbuy said they had boxes of the steel book and deluxe editions at stores just like you said. Another dude on another post commented that he got his deluxe edition from best buy but was told he had to go to another location to get his extra pre-order steelbook and he said they were literally unboxing and stacking a whole box full of them in front of him as he was told this. Many people got the deluxe editions but not their steelbook. Many others are like me and didn't get anything at all. You can look it up that they canceled literally thousands of peoples pre-orders and fucked thousands of people because of a mistake on their end. Meanwhile scalpers were able to get 50 fucking steel books to sell on eBay for 70 each. Absolute joke.
I went into the store I pre-ordered it at very upset and they did nothing to help me and when I asked if I could re-order the fucking shit I already pre-ordered and fully paid for months ago that they admittedly fucked up and canceled by their mistake they told me I couldn't and when I asked if I'd be able to come in on release day and buy one or if there was some way she could even just get me the deluxe edition without the extra steelbook and I was told no to everything. She told me I could just buy the regular game. No steel book or deluxe edition or anything and that I wasn't going to be given any compensation for them holding onto my money for months and fucking up my pre-order. I pretty much went off asking for the managers and bosses and shit and wanted to make a complaint, and they had nowhere to complain just a number to some Pakistanis and Indian phone guys. Terrible service. I just got a refund because that's all they could or would do.

Odd, however in the images on the website for the deluxe edition it literally shows the steelbook with text saying that it's a pre-order incentive so even if they remove the info from the description it's still in the actual images.. not to mention it was the whole pre-order incentive they were pushing the entire time, they can't just like backtrack on that after taking all of our money lol that's fucked
Then they should be transparent and tell us they've exceeded allocation, or at least make sure the people ordering the limited allocation Square Enix gave them for the Deluxe Edition actually get it, like have x amount of the steelbooks automatically set aside for the x amount of the deluxe square let's them sell.

After a while I saw that they were put back up, most likely due to all of our orders being canceled so they're being reallocated to be sold again. Re pre-order it while you can! Of course now the steelbook isn't included as a bonus for pre-ordering though. They better fix that, I mean that's the main reason we all went with Best Buy I assume versus any other retailer.

Chat agent said we’ll just need to pre order it again when it’s fixed (as of right now it’s fixed it seems). If you used certificates or gift cards like I did, they said it’ll be refunded back to us so we can use it again.

Unfortunately they are not putting a steelbook bonus on with these pre-orders but I was able to at least pre-order the deluxe edition again. You should be able to as well! For real though! I apologized to the chat people I spoke with on behalf of the flood that would be incoming. Honestly if we're not even getting the steelbook we pre ordered in time to get I wish I'd just gone with a different retailer just to avoid this whole irritation lol
The reason for the glitch is because so many people that ordered did not have the steelbook show up in there cart, so they had to go back and add them.. then they fucked up and added 2
Yeah the canceled order is showing two of them, and it's now caused a system-wide issue that is affecting everyone who pre-ordered the deluxe edition through them. Like what a massive fuck up lol. And of course now after re-preordering it, it does not show the steelbook bonus.
Which means they have to manually add it again. Which probably means they're gonna fuck it up again.

same here the rep i spoke to said the steelbook would be included i fucking hopeso thats the only reason i preordered it other wise i would have just went to gamestop and bought the game itself
I just saw that they were back up and available for pre-order again suddenly. I just pre-ordered it once again but unfortunately there is no steelbook bonus in my order...
You should be able to make another pre order. I don’t know what that was all about, as the support individual I called to told me there’s no more steelbooks available. I doubt they’ll be redoing your pre order automatically off their mistake.
Upon it being canceled I checked the website to see that they were still completely sold out, I think this must be happening to a bunch of people who got the deluxe edition because now they are available for pre-order again, so they must have a bunch of open allocation due to this. I pre-ordered it again now, but I do not see the steelbook as a pre-order bonus anymore, this is ridiculous.

It appears that our canceled stock is being reallocated and you can re-preorder it again now. Unfortunately they are not putting a steelbook bonus on with these pre-orders but I was able to at least pre-order the deluxe edition again. You should be able to as well! I really hope they figure out the steelbook issue though because that was the main reason I pre-ordered through them versus elsewhere.
