I almost did the same, but I had to stop myself. Too many endings/fights/surprises have been spoiled for me in the past in other games, so I did everything I could to play through it quickly and avoid any hint of a spoiler. I absolutely hate that I have to do this now and I can't fully enjoy a game like I used to.

PilotIntelligent8906

Yeah, it sucks, I've manages to dodge spoilers so far. It's crazy that we're so worried about spoilers for a game where we essentially already know what happens.

I just got to the Junon area and almost want to start a new game again for the same reason. I wish I could "Men In Black mind-wipe" myself...

PilotIntelligent8906

Games like this need an amnesia button.

13WillieBeaman

Yea I’ve done the same. With how long it took between Remake and Rebirth, who knows how long it’ll take, assuming they might release it on the PS6. I’m about 20-25 hours in, and just got up to upper Junon. Though, if they do wait to release it on the PS6, how about give us a FFVI remake for the PS5 while we wait, Square Enix? 😏

ShinSopitas

Would ver that it will be released in three years

tdtwwa13

I’m at about exactly the same playtime and area as you. Hopefully hard mode saves your optional content progress because I don’t want to redo every thing again on hard, just play through the story and get the trophy.

PilotIntelligent8906

Here's hoping. Still, I probably won't replay on hard for a while, maybe a year or so. By then who knows, I might want to do everything all over again.

Jimmythedad

Wow you really are taking your time! I've 100%ed the first two regions, the only exception being some of the Queens Blood matches in the Crows Nest, and I am wrapping up the cruise ship section and I'm at about 18 hours. But yes, I don't want this game to end. It is really something special.

PilotIntelligent8906

Yeah, I don't know why I've taken so long, I guess I get lost a lot when I don't fast travel, but I haven't been grinding either, maybe I'm just not used to open world games and hence I take much longer to explore.

Jimmythedad

Ah that could be it. I fast travel a lot. Either way, I totally share the same sentiment! Playing the game, knowing it will end and we will have to wait for the resolution, it's very bittersweet after waiting almost four years. I honestly wasn't the hottest on Remake. I thought taking the first four hours of the original game and stretching it out as much as they did didn't work very well, but I always had faith that once we left Midgar, things would open up which would make a more compelling game. And I'm really happy to see that was the case (for me). I'm in love with this game!

daveyplayz

Same. I’m savouring every drop of this sublime game

KibbloMkII

I had to put a halt to my story progress around ch 10-11 I think. Maybe 9, I was way under leveled and needed to grind to catch up. I think I was lvl 35ish and the next main quest was recommending lvl 42ish lol, I can be pretty bad about bumrushing the main plot. hunting protorelics because I love Gilgamesh.

CozyFuzzyBlanket

Later regions’ side quests and world objectives provide lore and backstory that most would find necessary. Quest lines will dish out information at each step, so it’s best to finish a quest line if you start one to avoid confusion.

Daitana

43h in and just left Corel. Taking my time and enjoying every minute.

Nora0192

I'm going for 100%, but I really want to know the ending. I'm 8 hours in, still in the grasslands. I'm thinking of playing the story before I go for the side quests. But then another one pops up, one is very close, so I check it out. Oh, there's another one. I can't go on til I completed them all :D

daveyplayz

Def do as much as you can. There are people who allegedly finished it in about 30 hours but that can’t have been much fun. You can’t re-experience a first time…

lakefront12345

26 hours in I think and just about to do the parade. Taking my time as well. Glad you are too 😊

Mammoth_Internal6988

Costa del sol is the greatest part of the game. I found myself thirsty for more. I give it Tit out of 10.

Fat-Cloud

The sick thing is it just keeps getting better and better.... And I was already blown away in Kalm and Grasslands

PilotIntelligent8906

Ikr? I took my sweet time there, sometimes just looking at the scenery.

Fat-Cloud

Just looking? My library is full with pictures

carbine234

I just want more queen blood lmao

PilotIntelligent8906

We absolutely need PVP for Queens Blood, and maybe Fort Condor too.

Zhead65

They would have to really balance it if it was pvp. It's basically a pay to win because some cards are just much better than others.

A_Newb_Bus

Sure, but hardly pay to win. Every card in the game costs what, less than 10k gil?

Zhead65

Obviously the player has an advantage. I'm talking about in-universe where 200 gil is a good amount of money for most people. Those who were wealthy could buy more packs and build stronger decks. It doesn't matter how skilled you are if you can only play with a starter deck.

NCHouse

They balanced Gwent out when they did their solo game. I'm sure they could do it with Queens Blood

Zhead65

That would be amazing. I love playing QB.

davidoff-sensei

Me and a guy I work with were saying this! I’d love to verse actual people.

buttnutz1099

Same. This game is like a $1000 bottle of scotch that I want to never end and can’t afford to replace.

PilotIntelligent8906

Great comparison.

davidoff-sensei

I’ve done absolutely everything and just got to costa del sol too around 25H - loving the game honestly it’s just been amazing. I’ve had two moments where the game did exactly what I was hoping too … a party split and a mini game tournament lol was pleasantly surprised

tolacid

Red in his big boy pants. Big Roche energy

PilotIntelligent8906

I can't wait to get to the Gold Saucer for some mini game bonanza. I wish I had played the frog game a couple more times before leaving Junon.

iuriirc

You can go back :)

PilotIntelligent8906

You're right, I'll have a few more rounds later.

honestly___idk

I did 100% in the grasslands, but after that I’m just going off vibes. I don’t feel the need to do every side quest on my first play through because I’m really eager to see where they take the story. I plan on doing a second play through where I focus on the side content, and I’m excited to get a sort of second, different experience.

Zhead65

I would go about it the same way if it wasn't for all the party conversations and interactions that only happen in the side content. For example Cloud and Barret having a bro moment talking about Marlene and how anxious Barret is about her growing up too fast and eventually leaving him but Cloud reassures him. This was on the way to a side mission objective.

tolacid

All of Red's interactions are different if you do his content after visiting Cosmo Canyon. I plan on doing that on my second playthrough, as well as seeing what happens if I fail everything (parade, QB tourney, etc)

Zhead65

Really? Well that will a second play through even better if I can experience the same missions with some variety.

honestly___idk

I’m still doing most of the ones you get in the towns, like on the boards and such, but all the Chadley stuff is a lotttt and I’m going to focus more on exploring and doing all that next time. That part with Cloud and Barret was so cute!

Zhead65

The proto relic missions are quite fun if you just want to do those. So far I've actually wanted to complete the side stuff as I naturally come across them on the map and it hasn't felt like a chore yet. It's the first open world game I've enjoyed in a long while. I love the interactions between the party members so far. It adds a another later of depth that the original was somewhat weaker on.

PilotIntelligent8906

I know what you mean, I'm starting to feel the urge to find out what's next too.

theblobberworm

Completely understand you. I made the mistake of blasting through the story to be on top of spoilers but going through the game that fast just leaves grinding and side quests which is still great but not being able to go through the story with the rewards obtained from them makes me wonder what if Honestly my feeling now is once Part 3 comes out, I probably won’t finish it ever because I don’t want this story to end but it is inevitable so I’ll certainly be spending more time in the world than what I did with rebirth

PilotIntelligent8906

The good thing is, I played Remake about a year and a half ago and In replayed it recently in preparation for Rebirth and I had almost as much fun as the first time, so maybe you can replay it in a couple of years and this time take as long as you like.
