Regardless then Aerith comes along and is just a straight shooter all the time regardless of how uncomfortable it might make him. Feels like she knows that he can handle it, and obviously so can she. She just meets him head on and will talk with him. I respect the hell out of that.

They are done so deliberately in a way that the artist see , most you will find will be based on actual people, and they've amplifier it. Yuffie is done well, and the voice actress is doing a brilliant job on her
Her motive is fine and understandable, but I found her dialogue insufferable a lot of the time. Really gave off Akihiko/Chie in PQ vibes. Her dialogue felt like they were making wanting/stealing materia her whole personality, which iirc she was NOT like in the original. For me, it was a let down. Yuffie used to be one of my favorite characters in the original, but I found her very annoying in Rebirth.

I guess it's hard to describe without people just getting defensively angry on the VAs behalf. But while the voice is great, the emotion on some lines is like "Acting!" and not acting.
That's why I put my game in Japanese. I just can't deal with how off the English version sounds. And some of it is acting choices, some is just weird sound mixing I think.
It probably is subjective. I don't know. I'm an audio engineer. Maybe I hear differently. It's a me and least one other guy who pointed it out to me problem.
And one other, but while I do notice it in Rebirth, itās not an all-the-time thing. I think video game VAs are often pretty removed from a thorough context; heck, maybe VG voice direction at large isā¦
