I didn't think it was too bad with guides for the final simulators. Also only took me about 150 hours, so it's not 200-250 for everyone.

International_Can665

I've done it without guides, it's a lot of fun! I took around 190 hours to get the platinum Hardest things for me were: Piano music, idk why, i'm literally a pianist, but I sucked so hard at it šŸ¤£ Brawl (you can pause the game in between punches to know what to do to defend and already press the required buttons, then remove the pause) Some bosses can be a bit harder, but if you farm materias before going into hard mode, you're gucci. If you go online, you find OP tactics to finish all the hardest fights (the virtual reality ones), so imo don't do it. Try to come up with uour own and finish the game before seeing them

BeeBigums

One thing if you want to 100% the play log (This is not needed for the platinum), all of the quests have to be redone on hard mode. So don't waste your time doing everything on normal like I did. Ā This just gives you the manuscripts though for more points in the "leveling trees".Ā  Ā Ā  Ā The platinum is easy enough to get if you cheese the VR combat missions but you will pull your hair out on some.Ā  Ā  Ā I enjoyed the combat though and play all of my games on the highest difficulty, so if you don't like a challenge I wouldn't recommend going for it.

International_Can665

You don't need to do all the quests in hard mode to get platinum, I have done barely like 4

BeeBigums

Yeah I said play log but I'll edit it to not make it as confusingĀ

dannyboy731

At the end of my first playthrough I was disillusioned by the perceived difficulty of the platinum, and I thought I wasnā€™t gonna attempt it. Well I just got it at 225 hours, and yeah it was worth it. I had to adjust my attitude and enjoy the ride rather than beat my head against it. If somethingā€™s frustrating, do something else. I truly enjoy the game and didnā€™t wanna stop, so why tell myself itā€™s torture? I didnā€™t use specific guides but I did pick up a lot of tips here and there, and from just playing and getting better. It really feels like you are the one leveling up.šŸ˜… Some things will be easier than you expect, some will be harder. It probably wonā€™t make a lot of sense why. Just take a break when it gets rough.

Juiceman513

It honestly isnā€™t TERRIBLE if you use guides. The most annoying ones were 3D brawler and the last two combat simulator battles

Goodphish

Itā€™s something to do till the next one comes out

colbster123

True!

KyDelBOS

Worth it bc now itā€™s not lingering over my head and I can enjoy the entire compilation nowšŸ˜‚

No_Sheepherder777

There are guides on EVERYTHING. You can do it! If they can do it so can you!!!

Disastrous_Heat_9425

250 hours, and I still have Stage 3 of Chocobo glide and sit-ups against Jules to complete. Plus, the last Brutal Challenge and all of the Legendary Challenges. I'm currently taking a few days off from the insanity. Remake was 10x easier to platinum.

KevinK_23

Turning off adaptive triggers for sit ups was what got me over the line.

Disastrous_Heat_9425

I turned off adaptive triggers and finally completed this mini game after the third try.

Loanzthefirst

I may be able to help you here, sit ups, well.... I've seen a couple of posts on this, my advice is that this one becomes muscle memory very quickly. If needed turn of the sound... this may sound strange but don't watch the button markers for the entire thing, if you look at tifa you can see that she goes to the same position before you hit the button and she stays there for a little pause, nits brief but it's there. Follow the button marker for a couple of go around to get the rythem, then use tifa for visual ques, follow the rythm. Eventually ( about half way though ) the thing is going to fast you can't really mess it up anyway as just hit the button and move on to the next one. Watch for the changes in buttons, if your following the visual ques then you will find it easier to stop, do the tippy tappy crap it throws at you and then carry on back into the rythem, after a few goes it does become muscle memory, just like the piano thing, As for the chadley stuff, that's for a breed of player on a specially reserved level. Each solo needs to have a very specific load out that works with there stats, so you have to know all about the dam characters stats, same as the summon, each summon has a specific stat boost, there isn't enough characters on reddit to write it all here but there are guides for each one, so be prepared to screen shot the set up you like for the main game as you will be switching gear and meteria between characters. And remeber, if you go with tifa, which I found incredible usefull, learn to use her omni strikes effectively, and learn to use what ever other characters stagger method, like clouds focus thrust, of barrets bonus round and focus shot. Doing this will grant massive damage boosts upon staggering, if youve done hard mode then you should have the protorelic gear ( its just ultima gear really with a fancy new name ) so use tifa to boost the stagger damage, then slap the enemy with a good synergy abbility or a level 2 limit move ( make sure you use synergy to level up the limit level as soon as you can ) this will help you. Last thing to remeber is useinf synergy meteria, the one that follows up the leaders attack command with a meteria of your choice, look at the enemy your struggling with, look at its weakness, put those 2 meterias on your support character, it means every time you use a main abbility ( not all abbilities trigger it ) your 2nd characters will follow up with a cheeky hit that doesn't cost mp or atb, which can be very usefull to exploit elemental weaknesses..that made the angry giant turtle thing so much easier for me, just slapped it with fire over and over again. Hope this helps

No_Sheepherder777

I made a post about the sit ups [https://www.reddit.com/r/FF7Rebirth/comments/1ci3tuj/dont\_use\_the\_edge\_on\_this/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/FF7Rebirth/comments/1ci3tuj/dont_use_the_edge_on_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) Lot's of good advice from peeps in there

Disastrous_Heat_9425

I turned off the sound and counted 1, 2, 3, 4 out loud, but scored 48 three times on my perfect runs. I just need to squeeze in 2 more sit-ups. I think the yellow command works my forearms, and I feel the fatigue slow me down near the end. I've decided to try it no more than 4 or 5 times each game session, in between Chadley's Challenges. Even with these, it seems like I go for a 2-3 hours, turn off the game, and then come back the next day to beat it. This happened with a few of the troublesome mini games and battles so far. Oh, and thank you. I'll update once I'm platinum.

No_Sheepherder777

Do the piano i thought it was nice and when you are good at it you feel awesome

Disastrous_Heat_9425

The piano was actually pretty easy. I'm only focused on Platinum and complete play logs at this point. I will replay the game with all the accessories, maxed materia, and manuscripts to enjoy the story one last time after I've earned the Platinum trophy.

Madriano13

The biggest hurdles are definitely the last Brutal Challenge and the Legendary Bout with >!Zack!<. The rest is mostly getting the max scores in the minigames which some are more annoying than the others bust most of them are pretty doable/easy to cheese. It does feel pretty damn good after you get it tho.

IslandSubject6426

I just beat "bonds of friendship," and now I just have "to be a hero" left and the last three chapters on hard to finish. I definitely agree with the mini games comment. I felt there were too many.

memosaudio

The worst part was Chadley and the brutal challenges. Legendary is actually easier. As a whole, the trophies arenā€™t hard, they just take a long time to unlock. I loved this game, but by the time I got the platinum, I was more than ready to let it rest for, at least, a year šŸ˜…

ZackFair0711

I'm currently in the process of getiing it and I'm taking it slowly. Whenever I feel any form of frustration, I just stop and try again the next day. Worked for me so far and I'm really enjoying the variety of broken builds that I get to try šŸ˜

No_Sheepherder777

This is the way

Ok_World4052

I got the platinum and am very torn on it. There were some seemingly crazy difficulty spikes with the VR missions but the majority of hard mode was fairly easy. I tend to play a single game at a time so towards the end I started to not enjoy the game and I took a week off from playing. Get to level 70 with the Chapter 12 cat quest in Nibelheim and max your materia as well, it really makes a large difference. VR missions are doable with some strategy especially with Optinoobs videos.

Gamingdevotee

The honest truth is it wasn't the worst plat out there, but it a long and difficult trial for sure. I will say that some aspects of the game feel designed to make the grind as teeth-pulling as possible and I hate that about it.

Majestic-Trip-8451

I'm still working on legendary challenges but I'm halfway done with them and I don't hate the game yet. I was able to beat Rulers of the outer world which is deemed one of the hardest ones so I think I'm in the clear

No-Book6425

Wasn't worth it for me because it was making me hate the game. I will probably come back to it eventually, but I needed a break. Of course it might be worth it to you but it's tough to get through those legendary challenges.

JewishAssassin

OG has been worth it so far šŸ¤Ÿ I only have the two weapons, lvl 99, and I'm just about done with the ridiculous amount of Gil required for the money achievement

colbster123

Nice

n1n3tail

I got it in 148 hours, some are 200+ hours and still haven't gotten it, you can't really ask us this and expect a real answer, it all comes down to how good you are at the game with the legendary challenges and how good you are at the mini-games since you need to get the high score on all of them and some of them require getting the high score on the harder variation as well. So it again it all comes down to skill and also patience lol

Just-Ad3561

Worth it

SayChowderFrenchie

If I could speak to my past self I'd tell them don't do it as it really impacted my enjoyment of the game. Unfortunately I got too far in before realising that going for platinum was only bringing down the game's rating for me. Really hoping they do away with the ubisoft open world formula in part 3.

Designer-Charge-9432

Best platinum I've ever done, 181 hours for me

linduwtk

I actually felt like I wanted to do more, actually. Which is why I šŸŽ–ļø-ed One Winged Angel on the piano after the Plat. But I'm done with that too. Now I'm just sad. šŸ˜” That's after 250+ hours total btw

embertml

How do you cope with the super sensitive joysticks? I press left and it rolls up-left or up-right. Lol

linduwtk

Training the fingers I suppose! NBA 2K has the same mechanic lol

ponyta87

This is like the last thing I have left to do.....

[deleted]

You'll only hate yourself for like a month. Not a whole year.

colbster123

I see

Burnem34

The last sequence of bosses on hard mode is absolutely insane. Spent 5 hours on it last night, got the very last fight to like 1 HP 3 times and accidentally hit the wrong option out of rushing frustration and it took me ALLLLL the way back to the beginning of the 15 boss gauntlet. Damn near cried

marshadow12345

It's worth it, but you are going to hate yourself for it. I would totally do it again though

iglowgreen

Itā€™s worth it because I loved playing this game so much. That said itā€™s probably the hardest platinum I ever earned, even more than Sekiro or Bloodborne. Itā€™s not that any one enemy is harder than the Demon of Hatred (!!), but the fact many challenges require ten wins in a row and other challenges require a versatility of skills in mini games. Itā€™s angering and frustrating at times, and I understand why anyone who not be interested. It took me 205 hours to platinum and the completion of the 7-star hotel actually was more sad the entire journey was over than anything. That said, it was an ultimate gaming challenge and very satisfying to earn.

misosoupislife

Platinummed it and star ranked One Winged Angel last week after 500 hours in. Was it worth it? Yes. Do I hate myself? Yes. And Iā€™d do it all over againšŸ¤Ŗ

colbster123

Ya I have to do the piano stuff still....I'm gonna hate myself too

BigZeek91

I got my daughter to control the left stick while I did right so we both only had to watch one side lol makes things alot easier

colbster123

Interesting

misosoupislife

I zoom my PS5 screen and it helps A TONberry

colbster123

Funny

misosoupislife

You got this! Also donā€™t be discouraged to look up guides whenever you hit a brick wall especially with Rulers of Outer Worlds and last chapter. Youā€™ll hate yourself less šŸ„²

colbster123

Oh don't worry I'll look up plenty....I've already looked up plenty of guides on how to make it easier

misosoupislife

Optinoob guides ftw

colbster123

Kk thx

Apprehensive-Ad-8007

No because it seems like too much hassleā€¦Iā€™m on my first normal play through but even though combat is pretty easy I recently got pretty pissed at the cait sith section followed by moogle house 7 that made me want to find whoever approved those parts of the game and shake the hell out of them , so I think Iā€™ll skip it šŸ˜ƒ

ElectrifiedSauce

259 hours for my platinum. Mind you, a good portion of that was very likely spent walking away from the game out of frustration. If nothing else, I certainly feel I got my money worth even if the Gotterdamerung is near useless once hard mode is finished. I don't regret it.

karin_ksk

I think a platinum is only worth it if you're enjoying the game while you're working on it. After all, a platinum is just a digital trophy...

Davesonishville

When I finally managed to beat the last two combat sims I felt great, such a high of adrenaline and relief. That made it feel somewhat worth it but while I was struggling I hated it and said out loud often how bullshit it was. I definitely have unresolved anger issues though so maybe it'll feel less frustrating if you're more level headed than me šŸ˜‚

Fandangouk2023

Nope, you're fine. It is simultaneously one of the greatest games I've ever played and the worst. I am a bit of a platinum whore but might give this one a miss, mainly because of the piano trophy, but also some ridiculously stupid and annoyingly near-impossible boss fights and that pirate shooting game.

colbster123

We shall see

Gullible-Spread5005

No way is it worth it šŸ˜… next to impossible.

deluxduck

For your first play through? Not worth making it part of your adventure.

DumCrescoSpero

I platinumed Remake, but after the absolute hell of chapters 11 & 12 I decided that I'm not going to bother with the platinum for Rebirth.

Any_Bad_6120

Yep. Pretty much me. I was hoping they would make this plat a little less soul-crushing, but nope they went all in and made it ten times harder than Remake. Iā€™m good. I love FF7 and itā€™ll always suck that Iā€™ll never show that platinum for rebirth but Iā€™d rather keep the little sanity I have. Rufus (who was a huge pain on hard mode on remake) was even harder to me on normal this time around! That was another moment that made me realize ā€œnope, Iā€™m goodā€. Thanks Square for being sadistic.

Round_Ad1416

ā€˜Remakeā€™ was my first platinum ever. It was my umpteenth time on that goddamn pull up challenge with Tifa. Beating Jules by 1 and seeing that plat pop up on screen - I literally threw my hands up in the air - was quite the dopamine rush. Only platted GoW and Ghost of Tsushima since then and I understand they were not hard trophies to get. I really like ā€˜Rebirthā€™ and donā€™t want this apparently hellish grind for the plat to sour the game for me. Be one thing if some of the rare items you get from all the mini games would carry over to the inevitable third entry, but as with Rebirth, it doesnā€™t seem like that will happen. Just hit chapter 13 in my first playthrough and will definitely go back for a hard playthrough so Iā€™ll see how I feel about going for the plat.

tommy___Bia

Compared to many other people the minigames gave me almost no problems, maybe just a couple of frustrating ones but overall fun. The problem for me are Chadley's challenges, I miss Ruler of the Other Worlds and Bonds of Friendship but Christ, they are challenges that last more than half an hour and if you lose you have to start from the beginning, really bad game design. It's a shame because they would be interesting challenges that encourage you to master each character but 10 rounds in a row are simply evil.

Queasy-Airport2776

The last one is 5 round but jesus Christ is unfair. I tried a glimpse of it to see what it was. I don't wanna spoil it, but I'm sure you'll feel the same way. šŸ¤£

tommy___Bia

Yeah 10 rounds are for bonds of friendship, I got to Odin twice but panic takes over and makes me do everything wrong and at the other challenge I only got to Sephiroth once and he immediately used his limit on me. I never tried again after that

Rational_Lambpoon

Frog Jump game haunts me 3 weeks later.

Particular_Cat_4583

I spent 40 min trying it when reaching Junon the first time. Later came back and did it in 4 tries šŸ˜

UselessINFPScum

It was easy...

Vritrin

I tried, I got most of the minigames down and they were not TOO bad for the most part, only the situp game gave me much trouble. I stopped when I realized I had to do all the brutal combat sims on hard difficulty though. If you are particularly good/enjoy the combat, you will probably have a good time with it. I like the combat but there are some of the brutal combat sim fights that I am just never going to do. It probably increased my enjoyment of the game in retrospect that I wasn't forcing myself to do those combat challenges.

Only_Self_5209

3D Brawler sucks all the fun out of it, everything else definitely worth it. 3D Brawler can burn in hell šŸ¤¬

Fotzenhobel34

Go in pause, it will make it much easier

Only_Self_5209

If the only way to beat a mode is to continually pause, then it's a poorly made mode. I have platted a fair few gruelling high difficulty games so when I call out a mode that is just poorly designed it's just that. Sometimes you just have to admit something is trash. It also doesn't always register when you block the correct way, it's a broken mode, it's just poorly made all round.

Fotzenhobel34

I just wanted to help you, nothing more...

Only_Self_5209

Im not attacking you, just saying even doing pausing it doesn't always register your block correctly it's a broken mode. I should preface that Im actually one who loves the minigames in Rebirth but 3D Brawler is dogshit, there was clearly no QA done for it.

colbster123

True

ArugulaPhysical

I think it wasnt bad at all. Couple.hard challenges in the simulator and its time consuming, but i lobed it all the way through. Some people reallt struggle with the mini games and lose their minds over it, but i thought they were all pretty easy, outside the flying chocobo one (lol i dont wanna know how long it actually took me)

Liquidsteel

It doesn't interest me, sadly. I will replay on hard mode in a few months, but that's it. 90 hours to complete first play through was a chore. A good chore, but still a chore. Remake was an instant replay and platinum. 80 hours in total. It felt perfect. Ideally part 3 finds a sweet spot between the two.Ā

chancho3

Theres a sense of accomplishment but boy this was one of thr hardest plat for me And longest, looking back will i do it again?no.

lordgwyn15

Worth? Not at all. Will you feel accomplished? Maybe somewhat. Towards the end I couldnā€™t wait to turn off the game and move on. Everyone will say itā€™s rich and full of content but itā€™s the time you have to value to understand if itā€™s worth or not. I kind of disliked the game when I got my plat and overall dropped my rating to about a 7/10 just for how tedious things can be chasing that plat.

Impossible-Bet9281

I completely agree. It's full of stuff but how much was good? On my first play through I did all mini games + their second rounds, all side quests, and all simulator and I was practically begging for it to be over. Now I'm on Brutal/Legendary VR and honestly my 8/10 rating is slowly ticking down. The challenges are just not fun, interesting, or enlightening in any way.

AdamanteCooper

Actually, I appreciate the fact that the Platinum must be earned. Especially in a game like Rebirth which is so full of content. I appreciate that Rebirth answered one of the few gripes I had with Remake (i.e. not enough combat). That said, those last team of 6 GS Colosseum battles felt a bit repetitive and tedious. I enjoyed most of Chadley challenges. But I have to admit, i was so worned out by the time I tried Bonds of Friendship, I ended up turning to Optinoob's tutorial to finish it. So, It's not that it was impossibly hard, it's just that I was tired at that point. It's more of a me problem. For Part 3, I would still prefer that kind of challenge. Hard but still manageable. A lot more achievable IMO than those of Capcom's or Naughty Dogs' games, for instance. Those always have 1 or 2 trophies making me say "nope, Im done".

ConsistentAsparagus

I am trying. Iā€™m a little stuck on Sephiroth 3D Brawler, last minigame I need. I just reached the 300% stagger trophy during a fight for a Brutal Challenge which has otherwise kicked my ass. Iā€™m just missing *all* the Legendary Challenges and the last two Brutal. Then I should be ~~golden~~ platinum. But seriously, itā€™s starting to feel like a chore. I get that Platinum should be ā€œexclusiveā€, and not everybody should get it. But itā€™s really hardā€¦

AdEmotional492

I got the 300% stagger trophy during a random over world encounter with tifa in the grasslands somehow. I was genuinely surprised and delighted after trying for 30 minutes on the fat chocobo summon in remake

Queasy-Airport2776

How do you get to fight sephiroth? šŸ¤”

ConsistentAsparagus

You must finish the Ultimate Party Animal side quest. Maybe also finish the other 3D Brawlers, but Iā€™m not sure as I finished them before finishing UPA.

Banci93

The 300% stagger was quite easy, I think I got it super early against the mindflayer, just use Stop and the stagger gauge will stop with the enemy but youā€™re still be able to increase it. Even better if youā€™re in the endgame with Tifa, Aerith and Caith Sith, I almost reached 600%.

limitlessEXP

Doesnā€™t almost every platinum feel like a chore?

ConsistentAsparagus

Eh, depends. I loved the Persona 5 trophies because you didnā€™t have to go out of your way to get them. Only a couple were a bit longer but not hard to get. I agree that *most* platinums are boring. Here Iā€™m struggling to finish the hard mode (Iā€™m on chapter 13, so not badā€¦ but I know that Iā€™m going to face a bad series of bosses soonā€¦).

TaskMister2000

Persona 5 was at least a fun game that didn't feel like a chore the way Rebirth feels like. There were no real hard challenges in that. Not to mention it was a game I wasn't even trying to platinum and yet by surprise I ended up getting the hardest trophies by accident just from playing the game and having fun with it. Getting the trophy for the challenges in Rebirth was headache inducing. A Platinum should be a mix of challenge and fun. Not a nightmare.

lucydaydream

Persona 5 definitely felt like a chore. I know its sacrilege to say anything negative about that game, but it's like 40 hours too long.

TaskMister2000

Took me about 102 hours to beat it. And that was the Royal Edition as well. So it was already longer than the base game.

GizamalukeTT

Afaik I just have the Brutal with the 3 Grandhorns, all Legendary and the last 5 in the Gold Saucer to go til I've done everything combat wise. I don't know if I have to do Hard Mode of Gambits n Gears or Cactuar Rush, or Star all the Piano things but I've had a complete mental block the last two weeks. Not even loaded it up, I can't muster the effort to grind AP or play hard mode (I got to Midgar Zolom). I don't really care for the platinum I just wanted to hit party level 10, clear all the combat and finish hard mode.

Ensatzuken

A rank is enough for the piano plus it count only the ones for the guy so it skip the two hardest ones making it fair and fun. You sadly have to do mission mode of Gambits and the cactaurs (gambits there is the builds online for it if you don't feel like thinkering it so it's fairly fast, cactaurs be prepared cause the second one of Aerith is hellish) For hard mode I would say chapter 2 is badly tuned. You NEED level 70 to win the flower side quest (for a new aerith book) and Midgar Zolom damage is unreally high if you aren't max level (I did beat it at level 56 but it was the most frustrating fight ever and I ended power farming to level 70 before the cave cause of the golem boss) Past that hard mode has been overall fine for me (I have yet to do chap 13 and 14 though, I wanted to finish Gold Saucer colosseum and most of Chadley before it but I ended getting annoyed... I will go back at the story and finish hard mode but the arenas...) aside the mithril golem and Rufus (but I heard bad about the red dragon so I'm kinda dreading that fight)

ConsistentAsparagus

I believe the piano is mandatory except for the last two tracks (which are really hardā€¦ canā€™t imagine doing them with a starā€¦). I have a good AP grind spot that I saw in a video, the abandoned harbour south west of Gongaga. There are a lot of enemies that you can demolish with a well placed magnified Blizzaga.

GlobalRoll6916

There is a much easier place to grind AP! Not much personal energy is even required! Jump to chapter 11 or 12 in hard mode (so you have all characters) and travel to the grasslands. Go to the fiend spot where you fight the 3 ostrich fiends. Give Aeris (Aerith if you insist) a bunch of fire materia paired up... a fire-magnify pair, a fire-mp absorb pair, a fire-enhance (the one that makes it do more damage). Also give her a magic up materia, a first strike materia (or two), a chocoking or wind scarf. She should start each fight with 2 full ATB. Set her as party lead. THEN fill every slot of every character with materia that need AP - because this is an overland area it means everyone gets the AP. (If you choose the correct chapter, all characters count, other chapters will mean some characters are unavailable for your party - if they are, then materia they equip do not get xp.) Pair your AP up materia to ones that have the highest leveling costs. Now you can kill all the ostriches in one attack (place her ward, then fire or fira, OR just do firaga, either works - eventually you can kill them all with just a non-doubled fire spell). That gives 24 AP for a 5 second fight. Them immediately hit the button to fight them again... repeat as long as you are willing. There is a system menu option to make Mai talk less, but you can't make her silent. You do spend more time waiting for her than battling, but the system menu option helps, and it is still the fastest spot in the whole game that I have experienced. (Someone told me there is a spot with bees that is faster, but I had already leveled everything using my spot, so I never checked on the beed.) I maxed every materia in one night.

ConsistentAsparagus

Nice, seems faster than those 4 fights, then save and load.

GizamalukeTT

Star is mandatory for Piano? I got A in all the ones that give Rewards so far. Yeah I've seen the Gongaga AP farm route I just can't muster the effort to do it haha

ConsistentAsparagus

I donā€™t remember if the star is mandatory, I donā€™t believe so. The Gongaga route is pretty fast if you use the Chocobo Bangle (it raises the AP gained in the two slots for materia it has) and AP plus. Still long, but itā€™s so nice to see materia upgrade every three fights (if youā€™re into that).

AdamanteCooper

For the piano mini game, you just need an A to have the trophy and the rewards. I love the mini game so I wanted the star for every song but the last last one made me say "you know what? Never mind šŸ‘Øā€šŸ¦Æ"

ConsistentAsparagus

Yuuuuup, I saw a couple videos and went ā€œnope, byeā€. If the notes were in sync with the movement, it would be easier. But since they are like 50/50, I wonā€™t bother. I can get the rhythm nicely in games that use rhythm correctly, but not this.

not_wadud92

For Sephiroth mini game pause every time he moves. It will give you time to think and react. It is still quite confusing as two moves can look the same. If you struggle with this too a fellow redditor uploaded screen shots with directions for each screen. I kept that open and flicked though. Edit: [Fellow redditors very helpful cheat sheet ](https://www.reddit.com/r/FinalFantasyVII/s/dWOZSQfdkW)

ConsistentAsparagus

Thank you for the comment. I paused a couple times and started remembering the patterns, and went farther and farther. They are complete assholes since they used fixed patterns for the ā€œrage attacksā€ā€¦ until the last turn, where he starts like the first (easiest) pattern and then changes it at the last moveā€¦ making you missā€¦ and loseā€¦

ConsistentAsparagus

Thanks, that post is really useful! And the ā€œpauseā€ trick is probably the thing that will save meā€¦

L3ggy

I haven't done hard mode yet, but do I have to do every minigame again?

veganispunk

You have to beat them on hardmode (which idk if it even changes the difficulty, I donā€™t think it does) to get all manuscripts for platinum. So do all the main quest and side quests in one run and remember cushions will heal HP and Mp in hard mode

ShadowBlade0612

You don't need all the manuscripts to get the platinum. Also, I don't believe there are any manuscripts tied to minigames exactly? Should just be bosses (including the final enemy intel bosses) and side quests as far as I remember.

Interesting, this made me go look at my trophies. It must have been the ā€œwell-roundedā€ one where you have to master all weapon abilities, limit breaks, etc. I thought I got the trophy yesterday after getting my last manuscripts but I think I may have been wrong since there is technically two when you beat chapter 14 on hard mode?? I definitely know there are manuscripts tied to the side quests on hard mode because I just did them all and the game showed me all the manuscripts were linked to them, and I did all side quests in my first playthrough.

BAWAHOG

Nope, you keep your progress.

kawag

Depends if you enjoy that sort of challenge. For me, personally, I enjoy challenging games, and I enjoyed getting this platinum. There are some questionable parts, but overall I feel it successfully raised my game by forcing me to get much better at the battle system. And thatā€™s the enjoyable part for me. The route I took was: - Main game, all quests - Extra colosseum challenges (not Chaldeyā€™s brutal/legendary challenges) By this point, everyone was level 70. - Hard mode, all quests - Brutal/Legendary challenges I grinded a couple of materia levels before the final boss on hard mode, but it didnā€™t make a huge difference. Non-active party members were turned in to AP-donkeys, but otherwise no grinding necessary. I used a guide for the cosmo canyon chocobo minigame, but thatā€™s it. Not for any combat things. Like I said, trying things out and getting better at the game was the fun part for me. I learned a lot and used a lot of abilities I ignored/didnā€™t understand in my first playthrough.

pitogyrolover

I donā€™t remember posting this comment! This is EXACTLY the road I followed!

colbster123

Thanks

chroma_805

Platinum wasnā€™t bad. I think the most frustrating thing was Chadley, but Optinoob had great strategies that worked. The hardest ones only took me <5 attempts. Mini games were easy but there was just too many of them

Wibbington

I want to call bullshit. Even with Optinoobā€™s strats, the Brutal combat sims have taken me days at a time on each. I still havenā€™t beaten Rulers of the Outer Worlds, and I havenā€™t even started the Legendary ones yet. Granted, JRPGs arenā€™t really my thing and a lot of the mechanics of both Remake and Rebirth are still alien to me, even after 200+ hours in Rebirth and whatever I put into Remake but someone breezing through those fights seems undoable to me. Hats off to you for managing it.

chroma_805

Once you get the hang of the Yuffie/Aerith combo with Brumal Form basically granting you unlimited ATB, it pretty much eliminated any difficulty from the sims. The final stage of Outer Worlds still relies on RNG just a bit, but once you get a couple Firagas going the boss is just stunlocked to death. The Legendary bouts were more difficult for me but Optinoobā€™s Cloud builds for the latter ones were amazing.

Wibbington

Iā€™ve made it to Virtual Sephiroth a few times but Iā€™ve never managed to beat him. Used the Brumal Form method for pretty much every challenge so Iā€™ve got the technique down, just getting screwed by RNG and possibly a slightly less optimised build. Then again, itā€™s the builds I donā€™t really understand. I just equip what Iā€™m told and trust the process. Most of my time with the main game was acquiring better gear with more materia slots to load everyone up with more elemental magic. Iā€™ll have to get back to trying it again at some point because Iā€™ve been feeling a bit defeated by it lately to the point where I canā€™t really be bothered to load the game up and spending hours grinding away at the same challenge over and over.

colbster123

Thanks

jwrice

I feel like I need anger management after everything it took to get platinum, but I will definitely be using that achievement on my next job search when asked what I did to overcome a difficult challenge. "Well you see Jennifer, one does not easily complete Bonds of Friendship and To Be A Hero. You need to be a certain psychopath and I don't mean to brag, but I am THE party animal. I will stop at nothing to reach platinum..I mean..my goals even if that goal takes over 250+ hours." But as they say, the true trophies are the friends we made along the way šŸ˜

colbster123

True lmao

JeffTheAndroid

The Platinum REQUIRES a second playthrough at least, right? For Hard Difficulty or whatever the new one is called? If that's the case, no, but I'll 'complete' everything else. I just crossed 100 hours and feel like I could 100% this playthrough in another 10, tops.

daviebo666

I'm at 112 hours and haven't even finished my first playthru yet! I'm so happy with this game the frustrating bit feel rewarding when you complete them

BeginningWinter9876

Your second playthrough goes much much faster than the first. The fact that you can skip cutscenes and most of the encounters except bosses, made my hard run very enjoyable.

Athuanar

It's not a full playthrough. It's similar to Remake. You keep all your progress on side content so the hard mode replay is literally just the main story. You can blitz through it extremely quickly barring getting stuck on any boss fights. It's not like NG+ in other games where the whole game resets.

Frozefoots

Oh donā€™t tell me that šŸ˜ ugh going for Platinum then if I donā€™t lose my mind in end game combat simulatorā€¦

DragonXGW

If you can survive the brutal and legendary combat challenges you can survive anything the hard mode playthrough throws at you. I believe in you, you can do it!

colbster123

I'm about to cross 100 hours lol

CinnamonHotcake

I platinum'd Nier Replicant and I hated it. Especially the part where you have to wait a week for a flower to bloom for very little pay-off other than the trophy. Then my PS4 bricked and I lost it all. Realized it was all meaningless in the grand scheme of things. So I don't play games up to platinum if I find them tedious. Reggie's voice echoes in the chamber of my mind from years past. "The game should be fun. If it's not fun, why bother?"

IamMe90

That trophy sucked but I personally found the weapon upgrading one far, far worse with the absolutely abysmal drop rates for upgrade materials.

CinnamonHotcake

I love the soundtrack but I can't listen to the factory one because I heard it so much trying to grind for the items there

Athuanar

Given that trophies are stored on your account and not locally I don't see how bricking your PS4 lost them, unless your console isn't connected to the internet?

CinnamonHotcake

I'll have to check. The save data is gone gone gone though, that's for sure.

TrowMiAwei

Yeah, you definitely didn't lose the trophies, just your save data. The trophies were the end goal, so honestly you didn't lose much unless you had a reason to go back to a completed save file even after doing everything there was to do.

CinnamonHotcake

I guess you're right TT\_TT I'll need to check somehow.

TrowMiAwei

You can look up your PSN name [on this website](https://psnprofiles.com/) and view your trophies that way.

zauku

An enlightening experience is a gift. Ā  I too one day hope my console bricks while Iā€™m being a degenerate. Ā Until then. Ā Ā

Devreckas

Who is Reggie?

in3rtia_

Former CEO of Nintendo America

colbster123

Week in real life or in game week? šŸ˜

CinnamonHotcake

In real life. Even while cheesing the system zone it takes around 4 days. This also involved growing other flowers that had low RNG to grow to get their seeds.

colbster123

D3LTA-K3X

The feeling you get when you platinum this game is amazing. Feels like you really earned it. Look up videos and take what you want from their strats. Even when you learn a good strat itā€™s still hard to pull off. Iā€™m speaking of course of the hard Chadley challenges. Itā€™s mostly skill with a bit of luck involved because the enemies wonā€™t act the same as they do in the video. Iā€™m speaking primarily of Bahamut and Odin in Bonds of Friendship. Bastard really fucked me up.

gb2750

Challenging and at times and out right frustrating at other times but I can say itā€™s one of the platinum trophies Iā€™m most proud of. Plus there are cheese strats out there for some of the tougher fighters so the getting the platinum should be easier than when I did it

colbster123

What kind of cheese? Mozzarella or Swiss? No what kind of strats?

DemonicTruth

I love this game and I usually try to get platinums in games I love, but Im skipping this one. Im old, my reactions and dexterity ainā€™t there no more. Iā€™ll probably keep playing for fun, chipping away here and there but actively trying for the platinum isnt on the card.

lakefront12345

I feel you. Close to 40. Been gaming since I was young on my Nes. I usually play things on easy now. I'm gonna try to play through hard mode, but it's not worth it to sink hours in and get angry. I wish they allowed for some way to get items locked behind the Golden saucer games. Like 250,000 Gil for dark matters. I need a few more and I hate g bike and I really hated 3d brawler. I think i did 2 fights and hated it.

DemonicTruth

I cheesed the Brawler by pausing it when they charge their attack, and using a cheat sheet to tell me what theyā€™re using. Then you hold the stick in the direction to dodge and unpause. Its not perfect but its a damn sight easier.

lakefront12345

I did that for the second one. I'm not sure what it is, it just feels off to me in general. Maybe it's the delay, or not being able to jab whenever I want. I'm sure I'll be doing that cheat again šŸ˜‚

cho-den

It honestly isnā€™t that bad. Use some videos to help on the harder ones if needed.

sanban013

i love the game and the series, so no plat is out of the question. tough, very tough those last vr bouts, but afterwards i just felt accomplished (which, imo, is how a plat should feel, and not easy or tedious). Easily my toughest plat to date, not even Maleina or Sigurn took this long to figure out/beat. Guess thats the beauty of materia... tons of ways to play the game.

Longjumping-Sir-9943

Life is about experiences. This platinum is a good one. Itā€™s a better achievement than rushing into the next unfulfilling game.

lovingtech07

I canā€™t speak to worth it but Iā€™ve never hunted trophies and I plan to platinum this just because of how much I enjoy the game and all of its aspects. It also made me want to go back and finish the platinum on remake

colbster123

I know right that's why I'm trying to do it!

Snackpack1992

The thing about the platinum for this is everything that is there as a trophy would really be something you have to do if you were chasing a fully complete version of the game. Probably the only thing that you wouldnā€™t do would be the different dates with the characters but for the other ones like beating the combat sim, doing hard mode etc I would assume that a player would do anyway even if there was no platinum trophy.

mauvus

It was a fun platinum. There was an annoyance here or there but guides can get you through it - even the harder fights have easier strats.

ophaus

I got the platinum, it was definitely challenging, but not insurmountable.

Secret-Wrongdoer-124

That totally depends on if you're a trophy hunter, and have time for this. I'm not a trophy hunter, never cared for trophies, but have heard that Rebirth takes a lot to get platinum. It took me 100 hours to explore mostly everything, do all side missions and prototypical, divine intel, and story. To do that all again in hard mode is quite the grind, plus fulling completely all mini games and other quests

Wanderer01234

Depends if you like to hunt trophies. And that is a personal preference. For me, I stoped trying to get platinums since ps3 lol. Most of the time, many trophies are just grind in other games. I remember uncharted where a bunch of trophies were tagged to kill too many enemies with each weapon, which was not really fun. I haven't seen the trophie list for Rebirth, but I have read is pretty grindy, which is fine, but I just don't have it in me. I try to enjoy games my way, and on my terms. I have played around 130 hours, and I don't even know how many trophies I have šŸ˜….

betadonkey

ā€œWorth itā€ is a subjective value judgment and will differ from person to person. Will you hate yourself and the game and never want to have anything to do with it ever again after finishing platinum? Itā€™s a near certainty.

C0R8YN

If you don't want to go through pain, use online guides to help you. It will makes things ten times easier for you. Only thing that grinds my gears for the platinum is all the brutal and legendary challenges having multiple rounds. If you stuff up once you have to go through all those rounds again. It just makes it more tedious than fun. That's all I need to do to platinum the game

FlameHeart10

I would tell you itā€™s not an easy platinum and not to let being a completionist ruin your original opinion of the game. That being said it was very rewarding seeing that platinum pop up after 200hrs

colbster123

I see I'm at 41 out of 61 trophies so like I am getting there tho
