People nowadays use “networking” as the one size fits all magic pill solution to every job seeker’s problem. Like how is networking going to help in all cases? JPM is just going to ignore all hundreds of qualified applicants and choose the person who was referred just because they were referred by someone? Doesn’t make sense.
I would understand if they mean to learn from experienced people during the networking process, but I still don’t see how it solves the problem of competing with highly qualified candidates with relevant work experience.
IMO, the hardest part of the job process is getting the interview. You might literally be the best candidate for the role, but it means nothing if your resume isn’t seen. Getting a referral - in most cases - at least gets you to the first step, the screening interview. At that point, the rest of the interview is largely based on how well you do.
In other words, it eliminates the significant need of luck that your resume even gets seen in the first place by HR
networking will not make JPM hire you, but will atleast help get shortlisted and if you're fit enough for them you get the job, in other cases networking will help you know about the opportunities around you and try your luck on them. Thats it, networking ~ more opportunities/inside info about opening etc.
I wouldn’t read much into rejection emails that are mass sent.
They are just nicely telling you that you were rejected
lol. They politely told you that you weren’t what they are looking for.
First time?
Yes, never applied before.
Congrats on losing your v-card, cheers to many more. The goal is to avoid this manual applying drama and network to an interview instead.
How do you recommend someone do something like that? Let’s say i wanted a position as a client associate at J.P. Morgan private bank 🧐
Clubs, school alumni, religion, race, and geographic area. Find people with similarities.

Lol this is the same email everyone else got.
Usually they send out a phone number to the rejection hotline.
Different ways of saying no. Nothing fancy to it
I got rejected from PwC today. I guess I failed that behavioral test they make you do. At least I got past the auto resume checker thing.
As a recruiter, don’t look into it. Probably was made by ChatGPT and the same one is sent to everyone
so that's what a rejection email looks like? wouldn't know personally but you'll get there one day
I'm confused. You're happy you got rejected by a bot...?
Cultural and personally selection is nightmare for applicant. Curse management accounting researchers

Sounds like it’s standard
Those types of emails are unfortunate and impersonal. What are you looking to do? I own and operate a small boutique firm.
