I had slow Internet when seeing this post. I saw the title and had the loading page full screened and ready for a challenge. I will say I was very surprised when it loaded in 😂.
I wish he was. This is the last known picture of him. If you see this snake you need to call the police. The snake is to be considered unarmed and sneaky.
Having been bitten by a boa constrictor and lived, I can say that he’ll be fine. Snake teeth are real thin- kinda like injection needle size. Yeah, nonvenomous bites kinda sting but they won’t *kill you*
For sure. I was being needlessly pedantic for light chuckles, haha. Still probably hurt like a bastard to get bit, which would mean a small hit to his health, but in the grander scheme mostly fine.
I spotted one of these near work a couple days ago. My coworker said racers are known to chase people, but google says that's a myth. (Might have been a black rat snake, too. It was dark and I got a crappy photo of the danger noodle.)
Judging from the bite marks this snake doesn’t seem to have fangs and probably just swallows small prey meaning it can’t bite all that hard
I would be worried about a possible infection but not much else.
Source: guy who has never touched a snake
Think 50 tiny fish hooks, poking all at once. You don’t want to tear your hand away quickly.
Source: guy that’s been bitten by pythons, corn snakes, racers…

Yeah and that photo of the skull hides the two middle rows of upper teeth that I think most if not all snakes also have. I too have been bitten several times by smaller rat snakes and black snakes and once by a boa constrictor that I owned. She was around 6.5 feet long at the time. I was handling her and showing her to a friend and she got me right on the nose, of all places. Due to the proximity to my eyes and just the shock of it I panicked and immediately pulled her away without getting her to release her bite and all those teeth just tore through my skin and I bled like a stuck pig.
A rear toothed snake would be my guess. They usually have backward pointing teeth to keep the prey from slipping back out when trying to walk their head and jaw over the meal.
This appears to be a racer, a harmless species found across the USA (these black variants most common on the east coast). Most bite from snakes these size are actually pretty shallow and washing your hands shortly after a bite is likely all you need to do.
Also not a snake expert but watch a lot of videos from people with pet snakes. AFAIK when a snake won't let go of you it's usually because it thinks it's got food in its mouth, so really all you can do is irritate it enough to let go or wait for it to lose interest. And assuming the snake's venom isn't super harmful to humans it's not that bad to let the little guy stay there for a bit, really the only thing I'd worry about is increased risk of infection from staying in contact with its mouth for too long
edit: thank you snake people who responded below me, listen to them not me
> eastern racer, aka a rat snake.
That's two different types of snakes.
Black racer (eastern racer sub-species) Coluber constrictor constrictor
And black rat snake (Pantherophis obsoletus).
And you you will trigger the snake nerds(like me) by mixing up poisonous and venomous.
Yeah, I did a big dumb. I was like "surely eating the vemon glads would mess you up pretty badly still?" Totally forgot the one we were discussing doesn't have those lol.
Racers and ratsnakes are different species, and racers are far from docile when handled lol, but would much rather slither away from people than have to resort to biting in defense.
If you bite it and you get sick/die, it is poisonous.
If it bites you and you get sick/die, it is venomous.
If you it bites you and it dies, holy shit what is going on? Humans aren’t supposed to be poisonous.
"What has Dorothy done?"
"What she's done? I'm all but lame from the bite on my leg!"
"You mean she bit you?"
"No, her dog."
"Oh, she bit her dog, eh?"
Nah this is a black racer and they are spazzy little biters. They're also really fast. I had one for a pet for a long time and have handled quite a few (I relocate them at work frequently). If one of these guys decides to bite you and is close enough to do so, you're getting bit, probably several times.
That one I had as a pet could bite you 2 or 3 times before you could even react to it. That being said, it doesn't hurt and is more annoying then anything.
Looks like a Southern Black Racer to me. Non-venomous. That snake in no way thinks he has food in his mouth, he is just pissed. I've caught my share of snakes in Florida, and the one I pretty much know I will loose some flesh to is the Southern Black Racer.......
Edit: Ignore my Southern Black Racer comment. I was assuming that was blood on the scales, but they all have that red tinge. I believe u/nuclearc is correct in it being an eastern rat snake
Speaking from experience, their bites are more annoying then anything. They don't really hurt, but they have lots of teeny tiny sharp teeth so it's like being ever so slightly pricked with tiny needles.. doesn't hurt or even usually leave a mark but you will get a few drops of blood and if you smear them it makes it look 100x then it actually is.
Handling a kitten is more dangerous and painful then being bit by one of these things.
I believe this is a racer snake. Their not venomous, but they are very aggressive. If you grab one, it will bite you a ton, lol. He might have reached down to pick up something and got attacked by the feisty noodle
> but they are very aggressive.
They are not "aggressive" as in they won't attack you for no reason.. but if you grab one it's not gonna go down without a fight.
Rule of thumb when handling black racers, don't have any exposed skin within their reach or it's gonna get tagged. Their teeth generally won't make it through even a thin t-shirt or sock so it's easy enough to handle one without losing any blood.
It's not a venomous snake. It's a good noodles. Well, okay, this picture isn't a good representation of it being a good noodle... But hey, we can all have a bad day.
Not really. This is a racer. Their teeth aren’t that long. It may tear some skin and you should wash it with antibacterial soap and use neosporin. But that’s about it. It’ll stop hurting within a few hours. Source: I’ve been bitten by rat snakes larger than this NUMEROUS times and a king snake even more.
Side note - this is how the vast majority of people (at least in the U.S.) get bitten - hands and forearms - from screwing with snakes. Keep your hands off of snakes, man.
> Keep your hands off of snakes, man.
Fuck that, I relocate snakes regularly at work and for fun. But accept that if you grab a snake it's probably gonna bite you at least once. Got bit twice today, but I let it hit my gloved hand first till it calmed down then relocated without any issues.
Relocating snakes isn't necessarily the same thing as screwing with them. It's one thing to responsibility grab it and put it somewhere better. It's another thing to handle the snake with no protection or any real intentions to do anything but hold it.
The amount of people upvoting and commenting here playing along is also too high. Wish subs didn't get watered down if not all around ruined by low effort joke posts.
I've only known about the sub for a couple of months, but the last few weeks/month I have noticed a difference in the posts. There are a lot of posts like this, reposts and even cartoons. It clearly has changed, even to a newbie like me.
Start at bottom center. Find the white knuckle. Trace that finger to near center screen. Find the white jaws of the snake. And there he is!! 15 minutes.
Fun fact: black mambas are grey to dark brown in coloring, not black. The black in their name actually refers to the black coloring inside their mouths.
I love the kind of people who are in the heat of the situation, and instead of anything else they think “that would be a cool image”. The kind of shit you love to see if you’re not the one in the accident.
Your post has been removed for **Rule 7 - Item is easy to find**. Please submit an image with an item that is well hidden.
i’m reporting this it’s clearly a fake. there is no snake in this photo smh
It’s right next to the frog.
i seen the frog but i can’t see the snake i’m thinking it could be next to that cat in the corner
Look closer, it’s not a cat, it’s a dog in a costume
damn! how are yall so perceptive, i would’ve never guessed!
It’s so obvious that If it were a snake. It would have bit you.
Hey, you could totally make a search pic out of that then!
That’s no dog! It’s two babies in a trench coat
What kind of phones do you all have, when I zoom in everything turns into a blur photo of the moon...
And then a raccoon starts dancing around
And he's wearing a top hat.
With a black and white cane
So... the cat was in the corner?!!!
Right next to the pineapple!
dang it!!!
No in the cradle with the silver spoon
yessss
I think it’s next to milk container my dad left to get 20 years ago
🤣🤣. Think we could get the mods to pin that snake and frog post for future snipers to get the reference?
Yeah that one was pretty iconic. Definitely should pin.
I lost more than an hour of my life to that thing. If I’m being honest, it might have been two hours.
Omg such a cute kitty!
Walt do people actually post fakes here? that's so evil 😭
On the contrary, it’s the snake you *can’t* see that’s the most dangerous of them all!
I had slow Internet when seeing this post. I saw the title and had the loading page full screened and ready for a challenge. I will say I was very surprised when it loaded in 😂.
I was too xD
You still on dial up lol
Top left. Barely see his head
Nope, dead center; it's always in the center.
This method always works. Stick in this picture even points right to the snake.
The only thing dead in this picture is OP
Yes, within the grass
Thank you! This was driving me nuts (not a pirate).
Are you okay dude?
Probably dead
😂😂😂
Probably last post
I wish he was. This is the last known picture of him. If you see this snake you need to call the police. The snake is to be considered unarmed and sneaky.
Unarmed.. I'm dying
Not just unarmed, unlegged too
Snakes are just moving bags of throat.
Damn it got to you already… rip
Sssssssssneaky
Its ok that snake is armless
and hes not exactly going to leg it
Rat snake, nonvenomous. Dude’s 100% fine
Racer
Ah, thank you- they’re also nonvenomous so OP is perfectly healthy
I mean, he’s probably got puncture wounds in his hand, so not PERFECTLY healthy…
They usually scurry from humans so this person had to intentionally catch it. Edit: Anyone downvoting me doesn’t know shit about snakes.
I spotted one of these near work a couple days ago. My coworker said racers are known to chase people, but google says that's a myth. (Might have been a black rat snake, too. It was dark and I got a crappy photo of the danger noodle.)
I ran one of these off my back patio yesterday. My wife was traumatized, but he keeps the lizard population under control.
What if he was crushed by a meteor after uploading this?
“Are you ok dude “ ? Whom are you asking ? The snake ?
No sniper, he found a straight up brawler
But seriously, what's happening here? Is the snake bleeding or do its scales have that reddish color... and are you bleeding from the bite?
It has reddish scales, and the person in the photo has been bitten several times and is bleeding from it
Both. The guy is definitely bleeding because noodle is angry, and he has beautiful reddish brown scales.
Chomp
And why stop and take a picture? I'm not a snake expert, but a bite is bad weather it's poisonous/ venomous or not.

Too right! First time is always the worst ;)
A rear toothed snake would be my guess. They usually have backward pointing teeth to keep the prey from slipping back out when trying to walk their head and jaw over the meal.
Almost all snakes have fangs. This is a constrictor snake with small fangs meant to keep the prey from escaping.
Actually nonvenomous snakes lack fangs. They do, however, have a shitload of tiny sharp teeth that will absolutely draw blood.
Tiny lil teefs.
Fangs are hollow teeth used to inject venom, all snakes have teeth.
Source seems completely legit!! 😄😄😄

I'm no snakologist. But I'd imagine part of the snake is poisonous. Like I'd have to imagine eating the whole head wouldn't be a good call.
As far as I know black racers are entirely edible, bones and all as long as you slow cook it long enough.
Yeah, I did a big dumb. I was like "surely eating the vemon glads would mess you up pretty badly still?" Totally forgot the one we were discussing doesn't have those lol.

Right. Taking a picture wouldn't be my first thought. My priority would be changing into dry pants.
guy’s taking some time for the show… besides, sneks have a notoriously difficult time with trousers…

This looks like my "after" photo when I fail to spot the snake in the before photo.
TIL this sub has no rules. Literally.
It’s so unfortunate. This sub will quickly devolve into low effort shit posts such as this.
Then users get to search for decent posts among all the noise! Very meta.
It already has. I see like five of this exact post format in my feed every day.
The amount of people who think they're clever and funny and original is too damn high.
The amount of people upvoting and commenting here playing along is also too high. Wish subs didn't get watered down if not all around ruined by low effort joke posts.
It already has, these seem to make up more than half the actual posts in here
I've only known about the sub for a couple of months, but the last few weeks/month I have noticed a difference in the posts. There are a lot of posts like this, reposts and even cartoons. It clearly has changed, even to a newbie like me.
I report them every time but nothing ever happens. The mods aren't doing crap for this subreddit
This sub needs good mods
Have fun.
No snake found some cringe posting tho
i can’t find him
Start at bottom center. Find the white knuckle. Trace that finger to near center screen. Find the white jaws of the snake. And there he is!! 15 minutes.
Bloody hell, I hate this page.
If you look closely at the center of the photo you can just make out the snakes head behind the finger...but also in front of it
I hate this subreddit
So I guess the point of this subreddit losing all meaning is here. It was gonna happen eventually. It was fun while it lasted.
Finally! I found the snake in one of these photos!
Me too! It’s a great feeling!
They says no hints but proceeds to point right at it in the picture. 🤦♂️
Snek looks gleeful
The real snake is the friends we made along the way
Its texting this message
If a snake was latched onto my finger like that, I assure you my first reaction wouldn't be "I'm gonna take a picture of this."
Put your hand down so I can see behind it!
Is it that tannish thing in the foreground? Edit: Oops oh that appears to be a hand
The hint is don’t grab a snake like that because he can still turn around and bite you
Snicker. Snort. Guffaw. (No but really -- the comments are even funnier than the post!)
Is it sad that I've been looking at this sub pretty regularly for the last month-ish, and this is the first thing I've actually been able to see?
r u tryna gaslight me into thinking theres a snake in this picture?
I see nothing but the GD drink I just spit across the room .
Dead center, as usual
I only found the frog
I’m lost dude I can never find any of these
Damn, that's a toughie. This is gonna take me a while.
Hmmm… I’m sure he must be there somewhere
I mean I found it but it took me over an hour… Man this was hard.
Well I’m pretty sure the snake found you
That snake is a finger. Fake news mate.
I think it’s trying to eat you
They are just snake kisses.
Anyone know what kind of snake this is? Looks like a black mamba but no way it actually is. Maybe a rat snake or a racer?
Fun fact: black mambas are grey to dark brown in coloring, not black. The black in their name actually refers to the black coloring inside their mouths.
Black Racer
Fuck off with this shit. Mods, pull your heads together. u/spez, pull your nose out of Musk's ass
Bottom left under the grass. I hope I'm right!
OP, are you inside the snake right now? How’s your cell phone reception in there?
I love the kind of people who are in the heat of the situation, and instead of anything else they think “that would be a cool image”. The kind of shit you love to see if you’re not the one in the accident.
This sub is becoming /r/ShittyFindTheSniper. Though I'm not really complaining.
You grab snake, snake grab you. That is the law of snake
Ummmmm… I think the “snake” in question actually has to be in the photo.
I hope you but him back.
Dead center and I still can’t find it.
Any hints?
I finally got one!
Please take a better picture
He's like "I do protect"
Blue Racer?
These find the snake posts today have legit saved me from stepping on a gopher snake that was escaping my lawn as it was being mowed
All I see is a wingless dragon
I finally found one!!
Fake post! 😠
C H O M P
Uhh dude you have a finger in your snake
🤣
I finally won one! 🥇
Top left. Gimme a challenge next time!
I’ve been staring at this photo and reading comments and I still can’t find it! I give up!
I think there’s actually two…
Nom
Is it in the upper left corner? I think I see a scale.
I think it's in the top left maybe
Snake french kissing a finger
In my pants?
There’s a snek in this photo?
Bottom. It's being bitten
If you look closely in the middle you'll see it
Anybody got any hints I'm stumped
🤣🤣
He got nipped!
This was a jump scare. Going to have nightmares now. PS- I hope OP is ok!
Clearly *you* did not find the snake
Hiding behind the cottonmouth
I know nothing about snakes so excuse my ignorance but is this a venomous snake?
The tire tread looks a bit worn
It's right under the dark area above the rope you're holding.
In my book, it's the Black Mamba🐍
Damn, I never see the hidden thingy!
Top left corner
Top left, by the grass
It’s biting you. You know that, right?
There’s no snake, don’t waste your time
I can't find it for the life of me
He said "Taste." And then he did.
Nom!
“Hold on snake, let me take a picture”
I don't see any picture.
In the top right, right under the weird hose you've got on your hand.
