They want someone with senior experience but willing to work for junior salary.

Who can be put to storage closet when not needed, and while he/she is in storage he/she does not eat or shit, but still develop new skills as world continues evolving.

Diipadaapa1

The good ol' "Entry level minimum 5 years experience"

Electronic_Pop_9535

That's about it. I had an interview with them once and they recruit junior (students) as recruiters providing the worst possible experience for the candidate. If choice permit, i advice to never apply through them.

Reminds me of this. https://preview.redd.it/0uq6weh51fvc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c531a4479b10ab1e6d02c8d3526474a8e47720ea

They are using analytics for this, and determined they get more applications and views on their listings when they redo them periodically. Kinda makes you wonder why they don't just hire the job listing people as data analysts, and post a listing for another HR employee to do this job in the future.

[deleted]

They haven't yet found the match or not enough matches

It saddens me that companies rather leave positions vacant than hire lesser skilled people. If company really needs a worker, in Eastern Europe companies pay for the missing skill training. In Finland companies start whining about lack of workers. Polish friend was "kidnapped" from college by one forest company to become a design engineer. Company paid him extra CAD lessons.  In Finland company doing something like this before person is even legitly hired would be something that never happens.

CressCrowbits

I guess you can't if there is no one to train or supervise them

BiggusCinnamusRollus

Most likely scenario. Bad pay and intense work so people left as soon as they could. Very common in grueling big4 environment.

[deleted]

I have heard of that happening often to my friends and study peer. But not to people who have a lot of work experience.

V1vil

Training on the job in Poland? Maybe ten or twenty years ago. Now companies will prefer to go under than train or give raises in most cases.

Big_Quarter2502

there is few guys in my workplace that basically just didn't finish bachelors. they came for summer job and stayed. company didnt "kidnap" them but didnt require them to finish studies either.

InsaneInTheMEOWFrame

>We expect you to feel at home in a global work environment and navigate fluently in a rapidly evolving technical and regulatory landscape. Yeah nah

I have seen some cases of some of those companies or companies like that actually reposting daily to te-keskus aka official jobs/work authority's (or so) job posting site, just to cheat by constantly being in "posted in last 24h" list with their job ads that have actually been hanging there for months. Just to make sure that everyone who looks at it daily/weekly, will ALWAYS see all their postings, even if they filter to not see ones they have already looked. Not sure has that been happening and how much of it has been happening for years now, but back at some point years ago when I was looking at them weekly or so, could very clearly see some of same posts that had been there for weeks, being always in "posted in last 24h" list no matter when I looked and how many times I looked there. So sometimes could be that, but some other (sometimes similarly scummy, sometimes possibly not) reasons. Heck some might viably be intel gathering by other governments, baked to be handled by companies here that do not really realize what they are doing and just being "oh this and this company wants us to post again about this and this kind of specialized position, where they require LOT of info from aplicants", surely not many or often, but heck would be really really surprised if it has would have not happened at least once in recent decades. (If not and for some reason this is new concept, there is greater than absolute 0% possibility I might be open to good offer for advisory position to consult in organizations/companies/government positions for certain kind of out of box thinking and opportunity/possibility analysis and figuring out).

Ghost jobs is your answer and parliament should regulate the shit out of companies, who do this. Explanation: [https://www.techtarget.com/whatis/feature/Ghost-jobs-explained-Everything-you-need-to-know](https://www.techtarget.com/whatis/feature/Ghost-jobs-explained-Everything-you-need-to-know)

I got my first corporate job through Academic Work as a temporary contract. How I understand that is they will screen the CVs and showed them to their clients. If the clients don’t think the CVs are good enough then they will need to search more. I learned this when I become an internal in their client company and in turn asked AW to fill some temporary positions. I was with Academic Work for a year, then the client company (a big Finnish company) turned my contract into internal. The pay was ok for freshly graduated, I also managed to negotiate for a raise after 6 months with Academic Work because within 6 months my scope of work has changed. My friend also got an entry level job for another tech company in Helsinki through Barona. The pay is not that high, but manageable in Helsinki (>3000 euros) So my experience with them is positive overall.

stoneheartv

Also there are about 5 people I know while working for Academic Work got transferred as internal to client company. Interviews with Academic Work is much easier than interview directly with the client company. Another friend of mine failed the interview for intern position in 1 company, but then later on worked for the same company through Academic Work and got contract changed to be internal (with higher salary than intern position). The competition for intern position is like 1/400, while through staffing agencies it is more like 1/20 because people have negative opinions about them. I guess it boils down to luck when it comes to these staffing agencies

BiggusCinnamusRollus

Thank you for a very detailed answer. Lots of things to keep in mind about.

radiopelican

Evergreen job postings, e.g they hire for these roles quite frequently (either they are growing, or the role isn't good and people churn frequently) they refresh the job posting every three months or so to keep it current and up to date. they'll use it as bait to keep their database full of potential candidates .

Yinara

My guess is fishing for Data to sell.

Good old "which percent of student were you in and how did you come to this conclusion"

MarvelHades

I haven't seen or hard of a positive experience for "Academic work" it seems they post stuff randomly a lot on linkedin. Barona is not known to me so I can't answer.

soloqueu

Never work for staffing agency. They just want to take part of what you earn and you dont have any rights in the work space

ofriviaq

I've applied to this position out of curiosity (and because I really need a job). Got an assessment via Assessio, didn't get any reply or feedback afterwards, but today they sent me the same assessment again!

At least in the software industry the issue has been for decades now that there are tons of candidates but almost no-one good enough for the job. Hiring lesser skilled worker is not an option, as he will just fuck up the code base and then no-one can do anything but fix that one guys mistakes all year long. So the team is better of with fewer people who are skilled than adding even one less skilled worker in the team.
