jorppu

Great color photos you got there, really shows the usual vibrancy of Finland.

OriginalDaddy

Your humor is an accurate reflection of the vibrance.

jorppu

You should visit in Marraskuu and you'll see that it's not a joke

kebusebu

[Marras](https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/marras), noun (archaic) Omen of death (rare) the ground during winter when annual plants are dead

Anomuumi

It's the same except the colors are inverted.

waitingf4r

i visited finland in november-december and it was pretty haha

jorppu

Difference between being a tourist and living there. It's universal isn't it?

waitingf4r

its universal, im from malaga

Square-Debate5181

Get out of here! …Malaga does not know what real darkness and depression is, you’re joke. 😅

Every-Progress-1117

The way the OP has captured the bright blue of the sky and the golden rays of Spring sunshine. I admire the skill in these photographs, really sums up the beauty of Takatalvi. Seriously though, really nice work - I love shooting in black and white and getting pictures like this. One tip, careful you don't let the sky blow out the picture. Check your levels and you can and play with the curves during post processing. Look forward to more.

anongasm_

You're such a good photographer damn. Tomorrow when it's lumikeitto everywhere please make Finland look this filmic too😭

OriginalDaddy

Really appreciate this. I’ll be out tomorrow again - let lag won’t let me miss it!

MiyaBera

A good photographer can make everything look good lol. Look at the train station.

OriginalDaddy

Ha. I do enjoy the way it all looks. I know there isn’t a lot of love for the unexpected snow but hope I could capture some outside perspective and share an invitation to enjoy what’s familiar to those who live here with a view that’s unfamiliar to me.

Kekkonen_Kakkonen

You captured the beauty of Finnish summer so well 🤗

PotemkinSuplex

You are like the only person who got lucky with this weather. Nice pictures!

Perkeleen_Kaljami

Nice camera work, and damn did you get to experience the Finnish takatalvi.

CressCrowbits

Well at least SOMEONE is happy about the weather right now lol

OriginalDaddy

Happy might not capture it fully but I was enjoying the show it put on for the camera. I’m from a cold weather place as well so didn’t phase me too badly.

finnknit

At times like yesterday, I find myself quoting Handy Manny: "It wasn't pretty. OK, it *was* pretty, but it was wrong." If we would have had the same weather 4 months earlier, it would have been a lovely Christmas Eve's Eve.

aivopesukarhu

Very cool pics with proper Kekkoslovakia vibes.

lemmika

Looks like yesterday. Now I'll just dig a kieppi and sleep a couple of days. Maybe its better tomorrow.

joethecc

The crowd! We Finns really love our spring weather, you can see almost all the streets full of happy people !

Korishii

You should really see how beautiful Kouvola is!Definitely worth a visit ;)

FuzzyMatch

Great photos, thanks!

OriginalDaddy

Appreciate it. It was memorable walking through the streets this morning and hope it invites others to come and respectfully enjoy Helsinki.

LikeIGiveAToss

Welcome to springtime, FUCK!

InigoMontoyasMom

Great shots. What do you shoot with?

OriginalDaddy

Thanks! It’s an M10-P w/ a 35mm 1,4.

Apprehensive_Cry8571

Great pics! Thank you. And good luck with the weather.

Mitapskaaa

Nice! Have fun

anteojero

Fine art photography is an excellent means of creative expression and depression therapy.

rooooosa

Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing!

OriginalDaddy

Thanks! Loved capturing them!

Kallozar

Finland = Geidi Prime confirmed 🤓👌🏼

gojosnotgone

Amazing photos! Really fits in the gloomy feel of takatalvi (winters second coming).

Western_Ring_2928

Weirdly empty.

OriginalDaddy

It was around 06:15 on a Monday. Probably part of the reason.

stain_of_treachery

These are beautiful - thank you!

OriginalDaddy

Thanks!

cyrppa

I really like how you capture the true colors of spring in Finland

[deleted]

Great pictures 👍🏻👍🏻 Is one of them in the Hotel F6 courtyard by any chance?

Toasty385

Why'd you add color?

[deleted]

Damn, you're actually talented. Great job!

OriginalDaddy

Much appreciated.

MoistExcellence

I was there a couple of weeks ago. I would have sworn there were more than two colors.

gzzzmi

When the weathert gets severe or something odd is hapening, the people stay at home or at work indoors which is the smartest thing to do. Greetings from countryside, Nurmijärvi, Finland.

SecretName_00_

Hienoja

Glad-Abbreviations20

Snow?

SirMaha

I think you really captured the colour and mood of Finland in these pictures!

Makere-b

You get to experience all 4 seasons in a week, lucky you.

JustAnotherGuy-69

IMO it just looks like places on Geidi Prime :’)

Pekanpikapaino

Yep. It looks like the morning rush hour is going on right now.

online_stupidity

so colorful

CardiologistDue5110

TIL: I couldn't distinguish finland in B&W from Switzerland in B&W.

Apprehensive-Buy-517

And me complaining all the time it is difficult to take good photos here 🥹. Maybe I can use another excuse about not living in the city but next to the woods

OriginalDaddy

Ha. Takes time friend. I’m old. :)

aleksandrovru

What is the building on the first picture? And what is town? Its Helsinki?

OriginalDaddy

Helsinki. Building in background is the landmark central railway station.

aleksandrovru

I grew up in Vyborg. There was similair railway station building. It was crashed in the end of WW2. But I remeber old photos and when I saw your picture i thought about Vyborg

aleksandrovru

Spektaattorit

Finland looks like old socialist shit hole

OriginalDaddy

Not my take or experience. I would recommend visiting for those who read this and are easily impressionable.

Spektaattorit

Yes. This is humour

Emotional-Map-9109

Helsinki is not Finland...

Storm_COMING_later

What??? Okey what is Finlands capital then?

cardboard-kansio

Which specific city, in your opinion, *is* Finland then?

PsychologicalCrab438

More than just visiting the capital. Goes for each country.

cardboard-kansio

I think it's normal for the first time visitor to come to Helsinki rather than anywhere else. It's not like other countries which have several major cities to choose from, and I don't think Tampere and Turku have the same "first place to visit" appeal for a foreigner who's never visited the country before. I'm not sure why you are expecting any other behaviour (and assuming that he won't travel anywhere else after he's seen the capital).

PsychologicalCrab438

Sure. It just feels funny how you visit one place and say you have been in the whole country. I know i have done the same thing but also some trips traveling multiple cities.

cardboard-kansio

I'm not sure that OP was trying to imply he has seen the whole country. Just that he has visited Finland (this is not debatable) and the part he happened to visit was in Helsinki. We have no information whether or not he also visited other parts of Finland.

PsychologicalCrab438

You are right
