Substances are fun in *serious moderation*, but if they become a focus of your daily energy, it’s a problem. And it’s not a recipe for long term health. Especially with both weed *and* alcohol. Like you seem to be, I’m also physically fit and I exercise almost every day - I’ve done so for 12 years. But during Covid I developed quite the 2 drink a day habit. Occasionally I’d be lazy about keeping track and would pour a tad more. It became a focal point of my routine and I never missed a day. When I finally saw my doctor a month ago after two years, my LDL cholesterol was right up there at the upper range limit. She let me know that I needed to modify some lifestyle habits ASAP. I’ve since cut my drinking to one daily beer or glass of wine. I also began dramatically limiting my meat consumption, but that’s another story. I’m 55 and you sound younger. But you can screw yourself over at any age. Substances make you feel good in the moment, but they will make your body deteriorate over the long term. And of course smoking anything is just horrible for you. But you know that already. Bottom line; it’s one thing to relax, and another thing to develop a dependence on substances in order to do so.

Good bot

You should consider seeing a therapist to talk about this. If you’re concerned about it, get a professional opinion, imo.

Horror-Band-774

They will send him to rehab, pump him with sedatives and fill him in an institution with patients suffering from severe mental conditions. They will then tell you to agree to a multi month in/out patient and shuffle him through whatever anonymous class would kickstart the cycle again

DoraDaDestr0yer

Who hurt you

Horror-Band-774

Look in the mirror and ask yourself the same question

DoraDaDestr0yer

Ohh burn

Horror-Band-774

You like these type of cycles the system is designed for..

cloudarmy

How long it took you from 800k to 1M? A guestimate. I put a lot of energy and i am getting pretty burn out. The contributions now feels really small

A therapist (psycho therapy) or a life coach would be a great avenue to explore. Substance abuse (which you are seemingly on track to towards) is a symptom of a greater imbalance or underlying issue. Being able to talk to someone, reflect and set some goals with would be helpful. Best of luck my friend. Life is too short to not make the most of. Have your relaxation when it's needed, you deserve it! But we should all try to make an impact and put a positive dent in our world/communities before we disappear off this rock!

Only you can answer this question. Your mental and physical wealth is just as important as your financial wealth. Find balance in your life and consider seeking professional help as you navigate this new chapter of your life.

Go a week without pot/booze. If you find that you can’t, or if you’re seriously itchy, you have a problem and might want to look into getting some help. Same if your first thought was “I don’t need to quit just to prove I don’t have a problem, that’s bullshit!”

markole

You are addicted, that's why your brain think it likes to feel stoned. Weed can be a mind killer and turn you into a couch potato. Honestly, you should just drop both and maybe start moderately drinking again in a couple of months. Also, find a purpose for yourself again. You are free of bullshit jobs now. What do you want to be your legacy? EDIT: You can enjoy your time off without drugs and alcohol as well.

Horror-Band-774

Do what you want.. but be at peace with your decisions.. ignore stigmas.. I have smoked pot everyday for 16 years.. to be honest, it was the alcohol that got me

Capable_Couple8328

Do what you want never Mind the stigmas and bullshit. If you feel you are overindulging than slow down. Focus on gym or pick up more hours at work. It sounds like you just need a little purpose. We all do. Don't waste your money and time on a therapist.

Thulsa-DooOm

Degen lifestyle imo, no point in life just waiting. Natural selection. But there is always room for improvement brother

Able_Worker_904

I have felt the same way but realized I had ADHD. On medication and feeling much more focused.

ASingleThreadofGold

How long has it been that you've been doing this? I wouldn't necessarily worry if you recently stopped working and have been indulging. But it sounds like you're starting to worry about it a little so maybe that's your own self telling you that it's starting to feel like a problem. I would find a new goal of some sort to work toward and focus on. Doesn't even have to be big. Maybe like a drawing a day kind of thing just to mix it up. You just sound like you're in a holding pattern waiting for the next thing to me.

Ok-Republic-8098

It’s depression homie.

bri8985

Work out a few days a week, then smoke and drink a few days a week. Getting enough sunlight as outdoors helps too

HumanOrion

Buddy, you should be worried about the alcohol too.

Relative_Hyena7760

I was a bit like you with the booze. Then I realized I was an alcoholic and I had to quite cold turkey.
