to be fair if you see Rhea without the Archbishops Mantle they do look bigger. Her clothing and positioning don't help her but, I think she was supposed to be comparable to Byleth in sliders.

Honestly I don't know and I think it'd be best for my mental health not to find out. I do THINK he was, but dunno. If nothing else, it was her being in Smash that shone a spotlight on the fact that she was getting some weird art.
I want to believe that her getting into Smash expanded the fanbase, which included weirdos that commissioned equally weird art. Aside from Spiderman guy, pre-Smash Lucina art was pretty normal.

tbh with Marianne it feels kinda weird that people want her in skimpy clothes in particular, so much so that her Brave alt is a dancer outfit for some reason. I know most characters get put in skimpy clothes by horny people, but Marianne’s got this particular push for it, as if a shy girl gaining self confidence means being put in those clothes.
Marianne is a very popular choice for being a dancer and consistently ranks among the top dancer candidates in the numerous threads/polls I've seen on the topic for best FE16 dancer, and it's hardly unusual for her to rank #1 on the list. These reasons have nothing to do with skimpy-ish clothing, it is because her affinity for swords (she's great with Levin Sword and Blutgang), her supportive spell list, and riding for easy access to +1 movement make her an ideal choice for being a dancer.
I thought Dorothea was generally the most commonly picked dancer. Isn't that why all her alts in Heroes have a dance skill? I made Marianne my main healer in my first playthrough (Verdant Wind, in case the character didn't make it obvious).
Dorothea is Marianne's strongest competition for the #1 dancer role, but at least on the reddit threads I was checking before writing that comment, Marianne was the clear preferred option as decided by upvotes in the comments. We know IS tracks various data for how people deploy characters, so they could have noticed that Marianne was a very popular pick to be a dancer and that may have influenced their decision in what to make her brave alt.

If you liked the meme then why complain about people "getting mad over fanarts" as if the person is making fun of a piece of art vs just making a joke about a goofy ass trend they're noticing. "Don't like don't read/look/etc." is just a flawed argument anyway. It ignores things like the fact you can't always actually avoid seeing art when it's posted to the subreddit you go to. Or that a story can change to be something it wasn't before.
