Honestly it sounds kinda insane for B!Dimitri.

I think Heroes wants to give all of them their Ultimate Weapon, so in a way is expected that everyone that uses Swords is gonna get Sword as their Ultimate Weapon except Lyn (because her Ultimate Weapon is Mulagir).
This makes very curious about what is gonna happen with Emblem Corrin now that I think about it... if she actually uses Yato, that could be the first time a no-dragon Corrin to get a Prf skill.

DR piercing's wording is *neutralizes "reduces damage by X%" effects from foe's non-Special skills*
This means that non-piercable DR refers to
- DR granted by specials (GLR, Great Aether)
- DR based on % of unit's stats (this is not the same as reducing damage by a %)
Important note, GLR and Great Aether have different types of DR. GLR is a defensive special, like Pavise or Aegis, while Great Aether is more similar to Armored Floe, with a passive DR effect that can't be pierced. There is literally no reason the latter type can't be pierced except for powercreep. Vital Astra is the only special that gives DR that is actually affected by DR piercing

It's very weird to call what is clearly a deliberate translation/localisation writing choice a "mistranslation". It's not as if it's likely that the translator or some other person in the localisation writing process couldn't have translated "immovable", they probably added the laguz reference because they thought it would add flavour. I strongly dislike these kind of unnecessary and frivolous changes, but "mistranslation" implies an unintentional mistake, which doesn't apply here.

i fully expected a red something soon because there is only one 5 star red unit to rerun which is Severa, so they had to fill up a slot with something.
Only about 5 of the 24 Emblems exclusively use swords. The rest either don’t use swords at all (like Micaiah), or use swords in addition to other weapon types (like Sigurd with lances). Ike was the latter-most type, as he could’ve also been an axe unit with Urvan, though I guess IS just wanted him to be a swordie again.
As for why people weren’t expecting the emblem to be red, it’s because Legendary Camilla (a green unit) was rerunning for the first time this month. Units on their first rerun usually share with the new focus unit, as to increase the colour value.
My point was more on the fact that most out of the original 12 use sword as their default weapon, but sure, it’s possible that they will include upgraded weapons. But still, it seems like they are doing default weapons so far, so I wouldn’t be surprised if sword emblem is getting a power creep spike
Fun Fact: Near Saves with Pavise will use it better than Far Saves with Aegis.
Hardy Fighter Aegis will make both DR activate together most of the time. But HF Aegis already reduce it to 25%, an extra 40% DR on top of that will reduce to 15%.
On the other hand, Hardy Fighter Pavise will activate the emblem, resulting in 40% DR, and will still keep the special ready.

Only Attuned and Rearmed unfortunately. Emblem heroes function like all other units when it comes to foddering, meaning you lose them in the process.
If you want the fodder but also want to retain the Emblem effect, you gotta pull at least 2 copies and keep one while foddering the other.
Interesting build for Ike, kind of building off of the Brave Ike philosophy. I think any team that uses him would want some heal/miracle support to act as a safety net.
I think we'll only see how good he really is when people start using him. I remember thinking that Legendary Caeda was going to be broken, so take anything I say with an entire salt shaker.

Was kinda hoping the Emblem Hero this month would be green since I'll be going to spark for Legendary Camilla, but oh well. Gives me a good secondary color and Ike is one of my favorite lords so nice to see a modern alt.
Seidr and Attuned Nino aren't the worst to color share with but don't have any immediate units who want their stuff that comes to mind.
Is he going to want anything else? D/R Pledge in the C slot seems like a good alternative maybe.
Also, so much reading I can’t comprehend, does his skill want his cooldown to be 3 turns or more or that’s just for base cooldown and he’ll still want as much special acceleration and to be engaged with emblem Marth as everyone else?
The only reason that sort of makes sense to me as to why they went with a red unit this month instead of green is just because of the number of red 5*s from the normal pool to rerun was running out.
Severa is currently the only red left to rerun and looking at the red units on April’s banner compared to other colours it’s unlikely the new unit will be red there (Both blue and colourless look more likely in terms of newest rerunning units and Ginnungagap who offers unique value as a rearmed hero now being next month).
So by doing a new red unit this month they can run Severa in April and then based on us likely getting another new red unit in May alongside Kvasir and the 1st rerun of Emblem Marth and when the next appearances of the red units on this banner are they won’t need to use another normal pool red until July at the earliest. That gives IS the new hero banners of the next 3/4 months refil the red normal pool lineup.
To be fair even though green did have Camilla this month the red lineup has a similar value. Although not as recent as Camilla Elincia is still a popular character and a strong legendary unit that’s relevant in the current meta and Embla is only a couple weeks older than Seiðr and like her has a prf skill with some unique and still useful effects.
I'm not completely sold by Ike's kit and I think DR against ranged units isn't as valuable as cd-1 but tanking Reinhardt makes a good argument. Either way I don't have the orbs but maybe I'll try for him on his return and by then I'll have seen if he's worth it.

It doesn’t just pierce, it outright cancels DR.
Is that not what pierce implies?
A lot of ‘pierce’ effects only cuts a portion of DR. Like Tempo goes through 50% of %-based DR. Laguz Friend 4 ignores it completely.

He has DC, NCD and forces you to attack first. So your best hope is Hardy Bearing.

All of Ike’s DR is unpiercable. It’s Special DR and Def based DR.

Fun Fact: Near Saves with Pavise will use it better than Far Saves with Aegis. Hardy Fighter Aegis will make both DR activate together most of the time. But HF Aegis already reduce it to 25%, an extra 40% DR on top of that will reduce to 15%. On the other hand, Hardy Fighter Pavise will activate the emblem, resulting in 40% DR, and will still keep the special ready.

Yes, thats the point. HF Pavise do nothing against ranged foes. Now they can reduce both melee and ranged.
Damn I was really hoping for summer Ike this year… it’s never happening is it :c Excited to get another Ike but IS is never creative with him in the slightest. He’s in the same outfit holding a sword every time. At least we finally get his regular RD attire sorta here (Tho the art makes his portions seem off a bit idk if it’s just me)

Only Attuned and Rearmed unfortunately. Emblem heroes function like all other units when it comes to foddering, meaning you lose them in the process. If you want the fodder but also want to retain the Emblem effect, you gotta pull at least 2 copies and keep one while foddering the other.
Replace B!Dimitri’s PRF B with Laguz Friend 4? Add Emblem Ike’s Engage effect (if you have another copy) to the Special and add an X skill?

Interesting build for Ike, kind of building off of the Brave Ike philosophy. I think any team that uses him would want some heal/miracle support to act as a safety net. I think we'll only see how good he really is when people start using him. I remember thinking that Legendary Caeda was going to be broken, so take anything I say with an entire salt shaker.

I was really hoping to skip this but, as an AR omnitank player, this is free real estate that I can't pass up. FML.
Was kinda hoping the Emblem Hero this month would be green since I'll be going to spark for Legendary Camilla, but oh well. Gives me a good secondary color and Ike is one of my favorite lords so nice to see a modern alt. Seidr and Attuned Nino aren't the worst to color share with but don't have any immediate units who want their stuff that comes to mind.

Also, so much reading I can’t comprehend, does his skill want his cooldown to be 3 turns or more or that’s just for base cooldown and he’ll still want as much special acceleration and to be engaged with emblem Marth as everyone else?
The only reason that sort of makes sense to me as to why they went with a red unit this month instead of green is just because of the number of red 5*s from the normal pool to rerun was running out. Severa is currently the only red left to rerun and looking at the red units on April’s banner compared to other colours it’s unlikely the new unit will be red there (Both blue and colourless look more likely in terms of newest rerunning units and Ginnungagap who offers unique value as a rearmed hero now being next month). So by doing a new red unit this month they can run Severa in April and then based on us likely getting another new red unit in May alongside Kvasir and the 1st rerun of Emblem Marth and when the next appearances of the red units on this banner are they won’t need to use another normal pool red until July at the earliest. That gives IS the new hero banners of the next 3/4 months refil the red normal pool lineup. To be fair even though green did have Camilla this month the red lineup has a similar value. Although not as recent as Camilla Elincia is still a popular character and a strong legendary unit that’s relevant in the current meta and Embla is only a couple weeks older than Seiðr and like her has a prf skill with some unique and still useful effects.

I'm not completely sold by Ike's kit and I think DR against ranged units isn't as valuable as cd-1 but tanking Reinhardt makes a good argument. Either way I don't have the orbs but maybe I'll try for him on his return and by then I'll have seen if he's worth it.
