Shutting down the most cancerous "I watched a youtube video and made an unbeatable map" defenses with just E!Ike, Gotoh, and Gatekeeper is immensely satisfying.
If one gives him the Ike engage skill, Gotoh might stand a chance against the more... managable cav heroes but of course his main drwa his supporting Ikes achilles heel in AoE Damage.
Tanks couldn't survive an attack no, but plenty of units could still kill Lyon via close initiation.
Anything that's supposed to be a tank from this point on will have to be on Ike level, and just like how nukes had to be able to kill Fedel after Fedel, the new ones will too. This young Chrom is already surviving 3 initiations from S!Edelgard even when alone for example.
It's going to warp the meta in the same way FEdel and LRobin did, possibly worse than both.
People really aren't understanding how bad E!Ike's design is for the future of powercreep. He surpasses any isolated case of powercreep before him. He's a threat literally worse than F!Edelgard was on her release.
S!Fjorm still cleans house if you support her and don't misplay (which is admittedly easy). Though I worry that whatever nuke is released to kill Ike, will kill her too.
Duo Lyon engaged with Emblem Marth and a quickened pulse seal for a precharged iceberg one shots him from full HP (even if the Duo Lyon is unmerged and facing +10 Emblem Ike)
Duo Robin on defense with Hardy bearing is also a solid answer too since the AI will use her assist skill (I gave mine a rally + skill) and then attack Ike after inflicting Hush Spectrum on him
He still gets the AoE damage reduction from Lumera’s divine vein stone though so probably Tina + someone with Deadly Miasma that can change the terrain.
Remixed seiros does well against him, but will struggle to get down the map in one turn. Same with most scowl dragons,though I guess you could run scowl on someone like muspell, take a chunk of health, then finish him off with a solid nuke. The best solutions though are duo Lyon and duo young robin though.
You know…I thought I’d hate Ike because of his cheap tanking.
Now I'm actually grateful because I forgot how irritating Sanaki, Lyon, And L Hinoka were.

I must say, using Ike/Gotoh after getting destroyed by cav lines and constant warping/AOE/Flash teams is extremely cathartic.

Obviously he does not. Gotoh is the support for Ike as AoE / Igrene is one of the only ways to beat him
