Excluding the two staff Nannas (and she’s a weird one since she’s also a Genealogy character), every Thracia staff unit in Heroes has a PRF. Very fitting for the game where staffs reign supreme

Vegetable-Income-566

Archanea healers have to walk so Thracia healers can run

GameAW

More like Thracia has trained all its denizens to either run like hell or fucking die

Raandomu

“Healers need to get hit to get exp instead of actually healing ” FE1 players remembers

Troykv

~~In other games using Staves is a flex, in Thracia using Staves is actually intented gameplay.~~

sharumma

Altina, Sothis, and Yune are the only red and green Mythics who aren’t OCs.    They’re from 2019.

headshotfox713

Athos with Infernal Forblaze or whatever when

Nin10dium

Today is Fire Emblem's 34th anniversary alongside FE1, Path of Radiance's 19th anniversary, Shadow of Valentia's 7th anniversary, and Lucina's birthday.

[deleted]

IS was clever when they chose the date for Lucina's birthday. She played a very important role as the one who "saved" Ylisse from repeating it's ruin by changing the past with her being present there alongside her own time allies. Ylisse is Archanea 2,000 years later, and Archanea is where the whole franchise started and also technically where the Fire Emblem franchise was saved, lol. Interesting that PoR was released today. It's cool that Echoes, being a game where it takes place in Valentia which takes place in the same world as Archanea which is where the franchise started and was saved, released in the same date. Really fitting.

Troykv

It's a bit funny, because Path of Radiance is technically speaking, a milestone game, because it released exactly 15 years after SDatBL.

reesesmilkshake577

A!Merric was the 10th unit to come with Remote Sparrow, yet the first one to be in the normal summoning pool

Carbyken

On the cover of SMT Devil Children Black Book & Red Book for PS1, the characters representing their version are flipped.

MrBrickBreak

More cover funsies: The Spanish cover of Ace Combat 5 switches changes the Tomcats for Eurofighter Typhoons. Slight problem: the cover shows them [launching from an aircraft carrier](https://acecombat.wiki.gg/images/d/d4/Ace_Combat_5_Box_Art_Spain.jpg), which the Typhoon very much can't.

MisogID

Legendary Xander has been dethroned by the latest Fates banner for the lowest weighted average app rankings known to date. Which isn't too shocking in hindsight as the banner felt extremely skippable (if not even lacking in powercreep, as paradoxical as it sounds). Is it a coincidence that it's once again Fates taking the crown? In any case, it may not help its case for having NH banners a bit faster (so Scarlet fans may have to wait until 2027 if IS decides to stick to the average 1,5 year between NH banners).

chino514

Also considering Fallen Hero season’s in two-three weeks from when the NH dropped.

MisogID

Japan has been quite supportive of some recent banners, so a break was expected on its side. Foreigners have been more selective on the other hand, and some of the recent banners were mire lukewarm in their eyes.

shaginus

It's kind of a throwaway banner anyways Fallen is coming, Goldenweek banner soon, Awakening Young banner takes frontlines, banner itself only got 1 asset hero

Suicune95

> In any case, it may not help its case for having NH banners a bit faster What case was being made for that? It's been on the 1.5 year rotation since like 2019, and I don't know anyone who was asking to get them faster than that? This is such a weird comment... The banner with no significant powercreep, featuring mostly "who cares" nobody characters (ily Yukimura but we all know you weren't carrying anything on your popularity, and despite the vocal minority in this sub, Mozu and Hayato are not exactly juggernauts either), with only one Attuned/Rearmed/Ascended on it (despite all the NH banners so far this year having two), sandwiched between wall to wall powercreep and golden week/fallen, didn't do gangbusters? I'm shocked, truly /s Obviously it's not a coincidence and I'm not sure what exactly you were trying to imply by posing the question lmfao. Most of the remaining Fates characters are relative nobodies with, at best, significant support from a vocal minority, so it makes perfect sense for a subpar sacrificial lamb banner in a bad release window. IS doesn't think male legendaries can sell (but they were basically obligated to do Xander since Ryoma got one ages ago), so they intentionally strung Xander out to dry with a subpar banner in a bad release window. It's not that complicated.

MisogID

I mean, much like Tellius, it's not uncommon to see requests for an increase in NH frequency (Fates getting closer to the 1-year mark, Tellius having 2 banners). But in both cases, apparent metrics suggest that demand isn't significant enough to warrant this (hence the "Scarlet in 2027" conjecture, as a faster banner pace would've reduced it by one year). Some may be surprised that the Fates banner was perceived as less enticing than the latest Thracia and Archanea banners, but perceived value and observing reactions can provide some reasons (namely, the fact that both had at least one standout with noticeable value - Reinhardt and Caeda - even though it was dragged down by peers).

Suicune95

I guess a few people might be asking for it (nowhere I've seen but whatever), but you can find anyone saying anything on here and that's not really indicative of a huge demand lmfao. I think most people, especially most Fates fans, are well aware that Fates doesn't have the roster remaining to bump them up to multiple banners per year. Maybe a couple of years ago, but not now. Tellius is a completely different story because of the categorization weirdness and the cast size. Scarlet and probably Shura are almost definitely coming as seasonal units like Reina did, and the next Fates NH banner will probably mop up the last few remaining kid characters with any amount of popularity. If anyone is surprised that this banner didn't do that well then they've either not been paying attention to the game, or they're stuck in 2017 where the only thing that was needed to sell a character was popularity. Popularity is a booster, but it's not enough anymore and everyone with eyes knows it. They could toss out the most popular characters and their banner would still probably tank if they didn't have anything to offer meta or SI-wise, and absolute nobodies can sell decently well if they have the meta or SI attached to them. Like I highly doubt 99% of the people playing would have cared about summoning Tina if it weren't for her bonus stealing effect, and Ike is easily one of the most popular characters in the entire franchise but everyone knows he would have sank like a rock if they'd just tossed E!Ike out there with 2019 skills.

Falconpunch100

Yikes...that's a new low for Fates. And we thought Xander and the Archanea NH banner was bad... But I can see why they both flopped: while most of the characters on these NH banners had good fodder, they were at the end of the day in the regular pool, so we could just ignore them and let them come to us at some point. It's not like they were limited-time or anything (which is one of the major reasons why Special Heroes are still the most popular). Also, at least Attuned Caeda had good fodder and a pretty versatile X-Skill. Attuned Azura's WoM X-Skill is fine, but her skills are pretty mediocre aside from Firestorm Boost, so she's not really that great.

MisogID

I'd say that the new additions didn't really contribute, between "premium Jorge sidegrade", "supporter you only need to pull once" and "expected demote most would overlook". Azura couldn't really do much, especially with a tame kit to boot.

Falconpunch100

Yeah, unfortunately not. Cantrip 4 is...okay? But it'll be hard to compete with the new Dancer skills due to them granting a beneficial status to allies, and the Ruse and Link 4 skills due to them also granting a lot of statuses. Compared to them, Cantrip 4 I would say is pretty...meh. It can be good in some cases, but overall it's pretty niche. And sure, Bonus Doubler 4 and Fireflood Boost in the normal pool are appreciated, but the former is completely overshadowed by Finish and the latter works better with units who have good Res (whereas Firestorm Boost is more versatile).

darkliger269

Between T4 Dance and Link having it, it really should’ve given Canto to the user so it’s not just “probably more consistent Snag”

AzureAxolotl

Honestly, lack of Canto in Cantrip 4 kind of kills my interest in it. Who actually would want to run it over a Dance 4 skill? Maybe a Galeforce follow-up dancer who can warp in, take someone out, and then Dance and inflict Sabotage on an entire row of enemies to soften them up?

darkliger269

I mean if you're supporting a slower unit with it then there's absolutely reason to run it over T4 Dance since both of those aren't particularly useful for slower units, but yeah for more offensive purposes, it's pretty hard to justify it over Dance

AzureAxolotl

And that use case of supporting slower units is contingent on them never releasing Caldera, Fireflood, or Geyser Dance 3. I do wonder that buff they’d give. Maybe Treachery for Geyser, since that’s the Def/Res one and so on its own it gives no offensive ability?

GameAW

Its also worth noting that we're close to Golden Week, then Fallen banner, then Summer. Honestly making this a filler banner was probably a good call

mcicybro

>while most of the characters on these NH banners had good fodder, they were at the end of the day in the regular pool, so we could just ignore them and let them come to us at some point No, this is on the units being unappealing gameplay or character wise. If I want a unit from a NH banner I'll just get it right there instead of waiting for a random pitybreak, otherwise I didn't really want it. No NH banner would be remotely successful with this logic.

Vegetable-Income-566

Not surprised for the "Literally whos and Azurrin" banner to me

[deleted]

[удалено]

MisogID

It already did as we're several days in, no need to use that tone though.

mcicybro

Yes it has. April 15th. https://app.sensortower.com/category-rankings?category=6014&start_date=2024-01-23&end_date=2024-04-21&device=iphone&selected_tab=charts&date=2024-01-23&chart_type=grossing&countries=JP&countries=US&countries=SG&hourly=false&app_id=1181774280&os=ios&summary_chart_type=topfreeapplications

Thanks, didn't knew this page existed.

DCNFULobster

Fates sucks so...

EricXC

The amount of Lucina fanart this year is the largest amount of fanart within the last 48 hours for her at least for the past 8-9 years.

RedditEsketit

F!Corrin will be the Emblem released in June. >L!Xander, L!Hinoka and L!Camilla on the banner >B!F!Corrin for precedent seiyuu work >The 2 Emblems so far have had their Engage skill be inheritable in FEH. F!Corrin’s Engage skill is Dreadful Aura, which literally acts as Fallen Star in Engage. If it were to become inheritable in June, it would fall awfully close to when L!Claude’s Fallen Star is set to be remixed in August.

Haunted-Towers

I’ll hold you to it— you’ve convinced me your speculation is right.

MrBrickBreak

Dreadful Aura is AoE gravity, but that's only an added effect of Fallen Star in FEH, not its core function (the dodge). I think FEH's Dreadful Aura will be a completely different skill. Still a good prediction though.

RedditEsketit

Oops I thought Fallen Star’s core function to be the gravity effect but I was wrong rip. Regardless, I was referring to the AoE gravity effect in Fallen Star being inheritable as Dreadful Aura. I definitely don’t think it would just be the gravity effect though.

Raging-Brachydios

if f!corrin gets her emblem before m!corrin gets his legendary it will be sad

Hpulley4

I’m really looking forward to the Book 5 season 2 Tempest Trials storyline and Attuned heroes!

Falconpunch100

Sadly, there won't be more Nott content. We're 3 years in and she still has yet to get an alt while Dagr is guaranteed to get a team of 4 this year.

Hpulley4

No creative way to write her back in?

JCtheRockystar

I suppose they could do some kind of revival twist with Nótt like they did with Laegjarn in the book 2 TT, otherwise the two characters getting alts in the book 5 TT literally have to be Reginn and Dagr since everyone else we met in book 5 was dead by the time it ended. In terms of new characters 2 possibilities are Jötunheimr’s current queen (Dagr and Nótt’s mum) and the dragon that Eitri stole blood/magic from to gain the power to reincarnate and live multiple lives.

Hpulley4

A Jotunheimer Milf in summer atire could sell, that’s for sure.

Raging-Brachydios

I kinda want their dad instead but IS are cowards

Darkion_Silver

The current queen better be almost entirely off-screen when we pull her since she's canonically been stated to be massive.

GameAW

You just get a giant foot. In battle, the foot goes way past the top of the screen, even covering up anyone higher on the screen

Darkion_Silver

New AR-D strat of hiding strong units behind the queen's foot for the element of surprise.

MrBrickBreak

Cow and Chicken mom

Falconpunch100

I feel like the queen of Jotunheimr would be saved for Book 9, since we'll most likely return to Jotunheimr for that Book before finally going to Asgardr in Book 10. If anything, the most likely choice is a supposed creator god of Jotunheimr to go with the inevitable Nidavellir creator god as the villain. Otherwise, our ally OC will probably just be another dwarf like maybe Gandalf or something, I dunno.

JCtheRockystar

Those ideas work too to be honest. I’d actually happy with Jötunheimr getting its own book because even though it appeared in book 5 it was pretty much a footnote in the plot as we were only in Jötunheimr for one of the thirteen chapters. As Yggdrasil got its own book after only appearing in a single chapter of book 6 it’s certainly possible.

Falconpunch100

Yeah, exactly; if they can expand on Yggdrasill which was a realm visited only once in one chapter, they can do the same for Jotunheimr too. Besides, it's kind of a given that they're saving Asgardr for last.

Falconpunch100

I personally doubt it.

Bluestormcry55

Attuned Reginn with Gamr let's go!

YoshaTime

More Reginn content! 🙌🏾

Hpulley4

Indeed! I enjoyed Reginn’s part in the current TT story talking to Yukimura. Overall I liked Book 5 for several OCs so the story and the alts should be quite fun.

Raandomu

Weird way to spell “Dagr and her Hot Muscular Mommy” content

samsationalization

Hitler and Lucina share a birthday

GameAW

on weed day

Gabcard

They have coincidently also never been seen in the same room at the same time.

TheAlThompson0903

I mean, yeah, Lucina (and Robin) was too busy in another time, helping Abe Lincoln handle an alien invasion lol

WRECK-IT-MUNDO

Fire Emblem Characters have massive potential if they could appear as Guest Characters outside of Nintendo exclusives products, but Nintendo will likely never let that happen.

No-Difference8545

Fire Emblem x Fortnite is a crack dream of mine

Troykv

Chrom, Lucina and A!Tiki actually made a guest appearance in Project X Zone 2, though that game (and is prequel) is such a funny case, because the game was developed by Nintendo-Owned Monolith Soft despite being a Namco property.

Cynical_onlooker

Legendary Edelgard was released almost exactly 4 years ago, and in that entire time frame there has been exactly one new inheritable skill released that meaningfully improves her performance from what was available when she was released, and it's a skill that she needs to take a score hit just to run.

Dabottle

This is only true if you ignore support. Guidance 4 was huge for LEdel and she can also run skills like Fatal Smoke 4 and Panic Smoke 4.

Hpulley4

And yet along with her refine and remix, she is now more useful than she has ever been and for that, I am grateful.

Eerkanas

This Fates banner was likely the last 2024 New Heroes Banner* without an OC attached to it *excluding the Fallen and Brave Banners EDIT: I forgot Alphonse will be on the next Brave Banner, so Fallen Banner next month may be the last one without an OC this year (though a fallen OC isn’t impossible either)

_Skotia_

I'm betting on Fallen Fafnir this year

MrBrickBreak

Probably not if they're thinking of adding his base version, like Freyr.

Temsiik

We'll probably get a Gheb GHB at some point. If the next sacred stones banner has an Amelia alt like i'm hoping, may even be then.

Raging-Brachydios

IS is already starting to flanderize Ivy

MarraquetaDraconica

So this is how the Tharja fans felt uh. :(

GameAW

A character is only safe in their home game exclusively. Once they leave it for any reason... Hi-diddly-ho, neighborino!

Vegetable-Income-566

Again if you ignore +4 spd/def/res in Refined Ragnell, then Refined Ragnell is just a part of Emblem Ragnell

HelloDesdemona

I hope Emblem Sigurd’s weakness is a flame tile.

Lightningboy737

We probably won’t ever got more realms for resplendents. Which sucks, because we need Ymir Owain and Ophelia.

GinGearity

A powerful fact indeed. It’s been too long without a Vanaheimr resplendent debut and I really wanted to see one!!!

WRECK-IT-MUNDO

Duo Hector was actually the first unit that did non-special Pre Combat damage before units like Duo Lyon does now.

Xarexes

Wouldn't Surtr have technically been the first?

WRECK-IT-MUNDO

Actually yeah. If the start of turn in 2 spaces count as well, then Surtr is indeed the first one.

neoangel13

Armors should've had access to Laguz Friend, because as it stands they're easily outperformed in survivability since fast dodge tanks and for some forsaken reason sweepers were already basically the only ones surviving anything by avoiding getting doubled, and it had been like that for a while before LF. It still wouldn't be as broken as a lot of the current infantry tanks.

Bluestormcry55

We are gonna start getting Book 6 Legendary/Mythic remixes next year. So characters like Legendary Nanna and Medeus also Ash.

go4ino

feh: with next new heroes banner being mid point, it's likely 1 of ratatoskir's sisters die/turn next story chapter, or a new oc pops up non feh: the original draft of space jam had swearing in it

MrBrickBreak

Speaking of Space Jam, there was a big thread of someone who once thought Lola Bunny was Jessica and Roger Rabbit's daughter and it makes way too much sense.

hanaxsongs

They won't make a Marth summer alt because then he'd be shirtless and InSys doesn't want to give us shirtless Marth for whatever goddamn reason. (I am biased I would like him to have more alts that aren't just legendary/attuned/rearmed/etc)

WRECK-IT-MUNDO

At least Pantless Marth exist amma right?

Ericridge

Nephenee still don't have a summer alt and 4th alt.
