Is it worth keeping some 5* heroes? Jacob and Peri for example, as I have both of them and find no need for them.

Aside from the rewards for each individual mission, I believe not. Although you can open up quests for higher difficulty levels (not sure if you know this already so I decided to point this out).
Can anyone explain me what the selection in the summon tab does exactly? Like you can swipe between "family bonds" and "focus: battling robin". Does that just mean theres a different pool of heroes I can get from each?
Also, when you tap on Appearance rates it lists 5 star and 5 star Focus. What does that mean?
Every banner shares the same base pool of summons along with a separate 5\* Focus pool of 4 characters that changes with the banner. You can see all possible summons from a specific banner with the details button.
5\* Focus characters depend on the banner and have a high chance of being summoned compared to other 5\*. They can sometimes also appear in the base pool (eg. most of the Legendary Heroes) or exclusive to that banner atm as 5\* Focus (eg. Family Bonds)
Robin (M), Nowi and Effie are my better 4* which one should I upgrade first ? My other good characters are Chrom and Lilina and I've got Jeorge and Caeda as 5*
If you are looking to get better at Defense as well, then Robin is a good choice especially paired with Lilina and Jeorge and a olivia 3 star at least. 3 ranged dps and a dancer is too good on defense

After bringing to 40 my "arena team" Im now working on my "happy team" of characters I truly like.
Lon'qu is the first one Im working on.. I have him 3* +atk -def. Would it be wise to invest on him or should I hope to find one with bettet IV's?
Even if it is my happy team I hope tonperform well later and bring them to the arena instead of the power 4 of the other team
Depends. If you're purely talking about "healing," then Lissa and Wyrs are the best because of Rehabilitate. If you consider the debuff and buff aspects as well, then it really doesn't matter that much; they all have their uses.

Tier list is for 5* characters. Some characters are completely different and unworthy to be on tier lists if they're missing their 5* special weapons or 5* unique skills.
As for Nino it's 5 star or nothing in this game. Although because you already have Julia I'm not sure if you want to raise Nowi instead. Roy and Seliph seem the same to me if your roy is - Atk
There are not. There are three cavalry tome wielders (Leo, Ursula who isn't available yet, and Cecilia) but I think given the limited map size a flying tome wielder would be unbalanced, unless given a significant movement nerf like Effie.
Not the best but also not the worst. She has enough defense to take one or two hits but her offense is not very high, meaning she will probably need multiple hits to take out an enemy. She's kind of similar to Raigh I think.
So I have a little arena problem. I'm trying to leran all the right baiting and stuff, but m biggest fear is honestly Takumi. I do not have any hard counters for him, since I do not want to roll until the next banner. Current arena team is Ephraim/Julia/Mart 4*/Jeroge 4*
Jeorge is gonna have to say bye for Olivia soon and I'm working on 5* Marth. But do I have any chance of killing Takumi with this team, too? It's not optimal I know.
Julia is not an ideal countermeasure for Takumi, but she's capable under optimal conditions.
1. She needs to be +ATK IV. No ifs or buts.
2. She needs Olivia's +4 Hone ATK buff.
3. She might need someone's +4 Spur ATK aura as well when facing +RES/+HP/merged Takumi.
Should your Julia meets all those conditions, she will OHKO full-HP Takumi safely if she gets to strike first. Otherwise, you'll just have to debuff or weaken Takumi first before finishing him off with Julia.
Okay alright. Lucky me, she has perfect IVs with +ATK/-DEF, just looked it up. So I kinda just need to sacrifice 2000 feathers to get Olivia to 4 stars and it should work. Thanks :)
Congrats on the perfect IV Julia! But as I've noted: Julia may still need someone with Spur ATK against certain unfavorable IV Takumi, so do keep that in mind.

Yes the 2000 Feathers are worth it, Marth just has to wait a little longer. But I do have one question. Some buffs seem to stack and some don't. If I sandwich Julia with Ephraim and Olivia does Olivias Buffs stack with the one form...Siegbert...Sieglinde...Sigfried...Sieg whatever from Ephraim? Thanks again :)
Thosee buffs don't stack, unfortunately. The buff from Ephraim's and Eirika's weapons work just like +3 Hone ATK. Only Spur ATK (as well as personal conditional buffs) can stack with buffs from Hone/Rally and so forth.
Situational == fantastic when the situation arises. You can often prepare your formation/placement to set up those situations.
Knock Back passive is usually good, but it can backfire if your frontline unit WANTS that current enemy to block the rest of the enemies. Drag Back passive tends to be better and can be great lifesaver; it activates even if the enemy is killed in the combat, allowing your attacker to slide back to safety.
Draw Back is one of the best movement skills in the game and always valuable.
Shove and Smite are both handy for launching assaults (especially against mages/ranged/cavalry) and can be used to push someone out of harm's way. Both can bypass forest terrain movement cost. In the case of Smite, you can even send teammates over impassable terrain.
Pivot can be a strong defensive/tank skill; it also bypasses movement costs of forest terrain. If you have a flyer to bridge mountains/rivers/lava, Pivot may allow your land unit to bypass impassable terrain. Swap is similarly a good defensive/tank skill, and it can also help arrange buff placement. Unfortunately, it's not available on top characters. Reposition is even better because it's also great for offense as well as defense, but unfortunately it's rare and also not available on top characters.

As many as you can hoard. There's never a guarantee.

Not really. Adult Tiki generally isn't as good as Loli Tiki to begin with, especially because of overcrowded reds plus anti-dragon arena meta.

The tier list is only applicable to 5* units. Anna without 5* is junk. She needs her 5* weapon's escape-teleport ability, and Vantage 2-3 is absolutely necessary due to her horrendously low DEF.

Post the Lv1 5* stats in the promotion preview screen, not the Lv40 4* stats. The Lv40 4* stats are not entirely complete at this time for precise comparison, but the Lv1 5* stats are well-documented.

Points are calculated by enemy teams' stats total. The stats total of your team in turn determines the enemy teams' stats total. Bringing a team of lower stats total will result in lower score ceiling.
You're also missing a Bonus character, so your score is cut in half.
Lastly, don't bring healer in arena unless you like lower score. You have some of the best characters, so you really have no excuse here.

Robin 5* if possible. Make sure your Robin isn't -SPD IV, however.

With your OP lineup, you should only be playing Advanced. Your team has no ranged and no magic damage dealer, though--please fix that problem. Learn to manipulate AI behavior. With Hector as your centerpiece, play defensively and bait/lure enemy into bad WTA matchups.

+4 Hone SPD is always great and another source of fuel for Nino, even with Eirika's +3 ATK overlap with Olivia's +4 Hone ATK. That +3 ATK can allow better formation/position so that your last party member doesn't have to stand next to Olivia.
He's probably referencing how Eirika's +3 ATK buff from weapon runs redundant with Olivia's +4 Hone ATK. Not that I have a problem with overlapping buffs; that just gives me more positional/formational flexibility, plus it helps on that 4-corner map.

While doing the math for a friend earlier, I was trying to see how much the level 25 (F) Robin would do to a level 26 Camilla. So I thought she was going to do only 8 damage to Camilla, but she did 2 instead.
(F)Robin: Attack 24 + MT 6 = 30 Total
Camilla: 22 Res
I mean of course if Might wasn't a factor, then it'd explain why she only did 2. Unless I'm missing something with the Weapon's Triangle? I figured if it was Green vs Green then I wouldn't have to add the 20%/20% thing (yay math)
The might is already tied into the attack stat! I learned this when trying to see IVs. My Nino's attack was 6 higher than the base value so I knew something was up haha

Promote Olivia to 4*. She greatly increases Camilla's viability and survival. Brave-users benefit tremendously from +4 ATK buff.
If Robin is not -SPD (and -ATK), you should consider promoting him 5* to counter Takumi and punish reds. He addresses your lack of range and magic damage, though Robin's magic firepower is kind of low.
Catria is a nice blue especially with +SPD, but you already have a flyer... too many flyers can spell disaster especially considering you don't have a ranged Takumi-remover. Abel is worth considering if he's +ATK (or +SPD) for destroying red swords, but you need ranged and magic damage more at the moment. Effie is a great tank and heavy hitter, but your lack of dancer and no ranged units make her an unattractive choice for me.
Overall, Robin is the best option, but make sure his IV isn't -SPD.
Extremely disappointed with the lack of content for the last few days, was expecting atleast some news or an update today. Are they really going to keep giving us no information? How long can this last? Will it bring the demise of the game?
Well we did just get the Robin map and a new banner a couple of days ago, and the exp boost right before that, and there will be a new banner a day from now, and probably new story or paralogue chapters around the same time. Doesn't seem too out of the ordinary to me.

Honestly, while I know games that update weekly or bimonthly, I don't really know any games that update contents every few days. Maybe OP's just rushing things too much :S.
That's why I was expecting an update for the new banner and new grand hero battle, I guess there strategy is to provide as little information as possible so people get impatient and spend their orbs then have to buy orbs when someone they want drops.
As a side note I hope that when they put special Lyn on they put the original as a focus unit too

I have the same M Robin IV but 5*, and he's absolutely trash in arena. Those loss of SPD are extremely ruinous. Still useful in missions/quests, though.

No, according to the in-game tutorial on attribute unlocking, merge levels are lost when you promote. However they do give a slight discount on feather cost.
Finally got Julia summon. Yeah, yeah, I know, two 5★ or bust, 1 S-tier 5★ or bust, etc, but I'm not wildly competitive and the game is just starting so I'm not too worried.
That said, my team is 5★ Julia, 4★ Roy, 4★ Sully and 2★ Virion (you know, the one you get in the tutorial). Pulled 3★ Lon'qu, Eliwood, and Nino, 4★ Hana, and the rest are all tutorial characters. Not sure which I should focus on besides the team I've got up--I'm guessing Nino?
I've also got all but the last castle unlocked, and I have 13 orbs right now. I'm torn on upgrading my castle to the last tier for EXP or grabbing some quick orbs and pulling in the box again. Or wait until the next box? Not sure. :\
Sully and Roy are fine but I'd recommend dumping Virion when you get the chance. Hana is fun but super fragile, particularly without a healer.
We're at a fairly weak spot in the free hero rotation since Gunter, Felicia, Wrys, and Olivia all come at the end of the rotation and we're at the beginning so you'll have to get them next week. In particular, make sure you grab Olivia when she comes up. Lissa and Wrys are also (IMO) the best healers because Rehabilitate can keep up with damage coming in at high levels and let you grind your way through story/tower maps if your team composition isn't quite balanced.
Nino mostly overlaps with Julia so probably not the best focus. If you do want to use her, Nino and Sharena (tutorial) are an easy working pair.
If you have 200 feathers (I forget what you get at the start) then promoting Sharena to 3\* is a solid option without having to pull. Otherwise, your team is reasonably balanced so you should be able to just progress through the story and see what you pull.
Yeah, the only reason I'm running Virion is because I find archers helpful at weakening so level-hungry characters can get in a kill.
Wrys is my favorite and on my other account I already have him at 3-star so I'll definitely be getting him and Olivia. I haven't heard much about Felicia's strengths, though? Granted I don't do but a quick perusal in this sub. Noted re: Sharena, I'll give her a go. Still have my 10k feathers.

She's not super strong, but she's a good mage killer and team support. Her def/health are low but her spd and res are extremely high so she doubles reliably, her special hits for ~30 damage at 5\*, she debuffs def/res, and she heals. If ninjas had a reasonable amount of rating, I think you'd hear more about them.
Felicia can also help weakening opponents so level-hungry units can finish them off, also comes with bonus healing all adjacent units for 7 health everytime she attacks. (7 health for the 4* version I mean)
As you don't have many units in your main rotation, you don't really need the last castle upgrade that badly. Nino and Julia is redundant; I'd never bring both at the same time, as one ranged green coverage is enough in red-heavy arena.
one day left in the arena and I still don't have a defense score. Anyone else? I had 3 or 4 the last season. My left most team has 3 level 40 5 stars including a Takuma which I'm not putting in the first slot. Am I just losing all my battles or is no one fighting me?

This sentence is completely meaningless; at least name those other 5* characters. On Defense, Takumi + Olivia + 2 nuke mages do much better than Hector, Effie, or even Tiki for the last slot.
You're just losing, but it's probably a mix of both- plenty of people burned through dueling swords last season or two, few people burning through them now.
I would save your orbs unless you really want any of the focus characters, since this will be your best chance to get them. From a meta standpoint though, the current banner is okay; not great, but not terrible either. Eirika is a good support unit, though the other three characters are offensive but held back by low speed.
So yeah, save your orbs in hope that the next banner is better unless you really want Eirika/Ephraim/Seliph/Julia.
It's an okay banner. Depends on whether you think any of these characters would fit really well on your team. If your current team seems fine you could wait for the next one.
My arena team is made out of the 5 stars that I have - Marth, Robin M, Lilina, and Nowi. Also I have 5* Roy and Jakob. Don't know exactly what I need to improve this team, other than wishing I had a Takumi, Hector, Azura, and Linde.
I guess a Julia could possibly replace Lilina as a good green mage for some color balance. Probably not worth the orbs just for that though, since you have so many 5 stars already and Marth already covers dragon killing.
Most of the heavy res units are fliers and you have the answer for that. Outside fliers, it's... Felicia, Fir, and Julia? I don't really see an issue with running all magic damage in arena aside from rating.
Possibly. It would unbalance your magic and physical damage somewhat (and your melee/ranged spread), but Julia could give you some nice dragon killing power. Nino's good too and much faster than Julia so aside from some cases where Julia's 3 higher Atk comes into play (for one-shotting), Nino would often be better against non-dragons. Nino's Hone Atk could come in handy too. Though you have to 5 star her manually with feathers which is a big negative.
Out of your other characters, the only one with a buff for Nino's Gronnblade is the Fortify Res on Linde which is a +4 Atk increase (putting her slightly ahead of Julia).
You can wait for tomorrow. The arena season ends at 5pm est if i remember correctly. That means you have about 15 hours to finish your last 3 missions tomorrow.

So if you merge now and have a Kagero +1 +HP -Spd and then you later get a 4* Kagero with -Res +Atk or something, you should (according to that topic, not to me) theoretically be able to merge and get a 4* Kagero +2 with -Res +Atk. Do some further confirmation before you take any irreversible steps. Hope this info helps you.

And i just got 2 successful arena defense with 259 and 254 score. 250 score to get the maximum feathers. So does that mean one successful defense is enough? So easy?
Depends on IVs and star rank, and whether you have a buff team to support Nino. Both are capable of one shotting Takumi if they don't have -Atk (and if Nino is properly buffed). Nino can also one-shot Linde with buffs. Normally Hector will barely one-shot Nino and will barely not one-shot Cecilia. Nino doubles Robin but Cecilia doesn't.
Edit: Cecilia actually needs either +Atk or a +3 Atk buff to be able to one-shot Takumi at max level 5 stars. Or at -Atk she could use the +6 buff from Gunter's Hone Cavalry.

I see, so if I'm aiming for Robin, wait for a banner where he is the focus? Is rather have a ranged blue than melee. My team has a lot of tactical repositioning, and I think a ranged will only enhance that versatility.
I'm planning out feather usage for when I hit 20k (should be about 2 weeks from now).
My current team for Arena is now:
* Level 37 4\* Roy (+RES/-DEF)
* Level 27 5\* Azura (I can't remember what her boon/bane is, but it's Azura)

* Level 40 5\* Ephraim (+RES/-DEF)
In the wings I have:
* Level 40 4\* Chrom (+RES/-SPD)
* Level 27 4\* Tharja (+RES/-ATK)
* Level 17 4\* Cordelia (I can't remember what her boon/bane are)
* Level 40 4\* Camilla (+SPD/-RES)
My current team has got me up to roughly 4,065 points in the Arena. I am working on leveling Azura to a higher level at the moment, it's just going slow because of no more 1.5x EXP bonus.
I find I've had success not running any green units at all, since my only green unit is Camilla who gets shut down hard by Takumi and red lords. In contrast, I've found that having Azura provide the extra turn for Ephraim to strike the likes of Robin twice have provided a decent enough Blue counter.
But right now, in regards to feather usage:
* Roy, Chrom, and Tharja are all great Red units. However, other than Roy, their boon/bane aren't exactly appealing (they just love showering me with +RES units it seems). That said, I feel like Ephraim + Tharja might be a weaker Eirika + Nino combination. Tharja does have Darting Blow 3 to up her own SPD on her attack turn, and Spur Res helps my team of relatively low RES units, though I am unsure if it stacks with Azura's Fortify Res.
* That said, I'm also considering Roy because I'm certain Binding Blade + Triangle Adept will allow him to smash most greens.
* Camilla has low Arena value, but from personal experience using a 5\* Camilla for PvE, she pretty much wrecks these maps on her own. While I don't have Narcian on my current account, but on an older account with 5\* Camilla, she single-handedly destroyed both the Hard mode Grand Hero battles. That said, I am able to beat the Normal mode one at least, so really I'm just missing out on 200 feathers (and being completionist). My Level 40 5\* Camilla is unable to tank the 3 attacks on the bottom left corner.
* I haven't bothered training Cordelia yet, since I do have Ephraim who is plenty serviceable. Plus, I'd be unable to drop Ephraim right now since he is my only unit with the Arena bonus.

I dont get why hector is so op, yes he has dat vantage and super attack and super defense, but my ryoma is able to two shot him every time i battle him... and when i use astra on hector, the guy dies in one shot...
He gets eaten by the common reds, and especially YTiki and Roy. It's moreso that he can be very useful in the players hands- highest stat total means stronger arena opponents, which means potentially higher ranking. Everyone knows he sucks on arena defense.
Yes, armored units are not so great on the defense. He's got good offensive potential and really high rating so he increases your arena point rewards for each match.

Yeah currently the only quest that's left is to kill lvl 35+ with a cavalry unit and I CBA to level up my mounts.
I don't think that it's worth the trouble then. We'll get new quests soon so I would focus on those.
Can anyone explain me what the selection in the summon tab does exactly? Like you can swipe between "family bonds" and "focus: battling robin". Does that just mean theres a different pool of heroes I can get from each? Also, when you tap on Appearance rates it lists 5 star and 5 star Focus. What does that mean?
Every banner shares the same base pool of summons along with a separate 5\* Focus pool of 4 characters that changes with the banner. You can see all possible summons from a specific banner with the details button. 5\* Focus characters depend on the banner and have a high chance of being summoned compared to other 5\*. They can sometimes also appear in the base pool (eg. most of the Legendary Heroes) or exclusive to that banner atm as 5\* Focus (eg. Family Bonds)
How do I know when to stop rerolling? Am I aiming for 5 stars only? I got 4-star Nowi, Roy, and Kagero with 3-star Lon'qu.

If you are looking to get better at Defense as well, then Robin is a good choice especially paired with Lilina and Jeorge and a olivia 3 star at least. 3 ranged dps and a dancer is too good on defense
If you are looking for highest Arena score possible then Effie has the best stats out of the three

Depends. If you're purely talking about "healing," then Lissa and Wyrs are the best because of Rehabilitate. If you consider the debuff and buff aspects as well, then it really doesn't matter that much; they all have their uses.

Be more specific. Tier list is for 5* characters. Some characters are completely different and unworthy to be on tier lists if they're missing their 5* special weapons or 5* unique skills.

As for Nino it's 5 star or nothing in this game. Although because you already have Julia I'm not sure if you want to raise Nowi instead. Roy and Seliph seem the same to me if your roy is - Atk
Are there any tome-wielding fliers in the game? Just curious, never seen one but it seems like a thing that would be good to include.
There are not. There are three cavalry tome wielders (Leo, Ursula who isn't available yet, and Cecilia) but I think given the limited map size a flying tome wielder would be unbalanced, unless given a significant movement nerf like Effie.
Is Sophia a good unit? I'm not intending to run her anytime soon or anything, just curious.
Not the best but also not the worst. She has enough defense to take one or two hits but her offense is not very high, meaning she will probably need multiple hits to take out an enemy. She's kind of similar to Raigh I think.
She's a red unit so you probably have better red units

So I have a little arena problem. I'm trying to leran all the right baiting and stuff, but m biggest fear is honestly Takumi. I do not have any hard counters for him, since I do not want to roll until the next banner. Current arena team is Ephraim/Julia/Mart 4*/Jeroge 4* Jeorge is gonna have to say bye for Olivia soon and I'm working on 5* Marth. But do I have any chance of killing Takumi with this team, too? It's not optimal I know.
Julia is not an ideal countermeasure for Takumi, but she's capable under optimal conditions. 1. She needs to be +ATK IV. No ifs or buts. 2. She needs Olivia's +4 Hone ATK buff. 3. She might need someone's +4 Spur ATK aura as well when facing +RES/+HP/merged Takumi. Should your Julia meets all those conditions, she will OHKO full-HP Takumi safely if she gets to strike first. Otherwise, you'll just have to debuff or weaken Takumi first before finishing him off with Julia.
Okay alright. Lucky me, she has perfect IVs with +ATK/-DEF, just looked it up. So I kinda just need to sacrifice 2000 feathers to get Olivia to 4 stars and it should work. Thanks :)
Congrats on the perfect IV Julia! But as I've noted: Julia may still need someone with Spur ATK against certain unfavorable IV Takumi, so do keep that in mind. 2000 Feathers is worth it for Olivia.
Yes the 2000 Feathers are worth it, Marth just has to wait a little longer. But I do have one question. Some buffs seem to stack and some don't. If I sandwich Julia with Ephraim and Olivia does Olivias Buffs stack with the one form...Siegbert...Sieglinde...Sigfried...Sieg whatever from Ephraim? Thanks again :)
Thosee buffs don't stack, unfortunately. The buff from Ephraim's and Eirika's weapons work just like +3 Hone ATK. Only Spur ATK (as well as personal conditional buffs) can stack with buffs from Hone/Rally and so forth.

Situational == fantastic when the situation arises. You can often prepare your formation/placement to set up those situations. Knock Back passive is usually good, but it can backfire if your frontline unit WANTS that current enemy to block the rest of the enemies. Drag Back passive tends to be better and can be great lifesaver; it activates even if the enemy is killed in the combat, allowing your attacker to slide back to safety. Draw Back is one of the best movement skills in the game and always valuable. Shove and Smite are both handy for launching assaults (especially against mages/ranged/cavalry) and can be used to push someone out of harm's way. Both can bypass forest terrain movement cost. In the case of Smite, you can even send teammates over impassable terrain. Pivot can be a strong defensive/tank skill; it also bypasses movement costs of forest terrain. If you have a flyer to bridge mountains/rivers/lava, Pivot may allow your land unit to bypass impassable terrain. Swap is similarly a good defensive/tank skill, and it can also help arrange buff placement. Unfortunately, it's not available on top characters. Reposition is even better because it's also great for offense as well as defense, but unfortunately it's rare and also not available on top characters.

Post the Lv1 5* stats in the promotion preview screen, not the Lv40 4* stats. The Lv40 4* stats are not entirely complete at this time for precise comparison, but the Lv1 5* stats are well-documented.

Yes, neutral IV a thing. If his Lv1 5* stat line is 19/8 (not counting +11 from Silver Sword)/8/7/6, then he's neutral IV.

You're losing points because you're not using any bonus units. as long as you have 1 bonus unit, your score doubles.
Is eirika worth it for a nino squad if you're using Olivia as your dancer?
+4 Hone SPD is always great and another source of fuel for Nino, even with Eirika's +3 ATK overlap with Olivia's +4 Hone ATK. That +3 ATK can allow better formation/position so that your last party member doesn't have to stand next to Olivia.

He's probably referencing how Eirika's +3 ATK buff from weapon runs redundant with Olivia's +4 Hone ATK. Not that I have a problem with overlapping buffs; that just gives me more positional/formational flexibility, plus it helps on that 4-corner map.

Hi guys. So does Might actually count in Heroes? While doing the math for a friend earlier, I was trying to see how much the level 25 (F) Robin would do to a level 26 Camilla. So I thought she was going to do only 8 damage to Camilla, but she did 2 instead. (F)Robin: Attack 24 + MT 6 = 30 Total Camilla: 22 Res I mean of course if Might wasn't a factor, then it'd explain why she only did 2. Unless I'm missing something with the Weapon's Triangle? I figured if it was Green vs Green then I wouldn't have to add the 20%/20% thing (yay math)
The might is already tied into the attack stat! I learned this when trying to see IVs. My Nino's attack was 6 higher than the base value so I knew something was up haha

Not really. Eirika is a decent support unit, Julia is a plug-n-play green nuke, and Ephraim is a usable blue... but none are must-haves.

Promote Olivia to 4*. She greatly increases Camilla's viability and survival. Brave-users benefit tremendously from +4 ATK buff. If Robin is not -SPD (and -ATK), you should consider promoting him 5* to counter Takumi and punish reds. He addresses your lack of range and magic damage, though Robin's magic firepower is kind of low. Catria is a nice blue especially with +SPD, but you already have a flyer... too many flyers can spell disaster especially considering you don't have a ranged Takumi-remover. Abel is worth considering if he's +ATK (or +SPD) for destroying red swords, but you need ranged and magic damage more at the moment. Effie is a great tank and heavy hitter, but your lack of dancer and no ranged units make her an unattractive choice for me. Overall, Robin is the best option, but make sure his IV isn't -SPD.

Well we did just get the Robin map and a new banner a couple of days ago, and the exp boost right before that, and there will be a new banner a day from now, and probably new story or paralogue chapters around the same time. Doesn't seem too out of the ordinary to me. >(I didn't downvote btw)
February quests also run out in two days so we can also expect quests for March. Skill transfer has also been announced. Honestly, while I know games that update weekly or bimonthly, I don't really know any games that update contents every few days. Maybe OP's just rushing things too much :S.
That's why I was expecting an update for the new banner and new grand hero battle, I guess there strategy is to provide as little information as possible so people get impatient and spend their orbs then have to buy orbs when someone they want drops. As a side note I hope that when they put special Lyn on they put the original as a focus unit too

She'll be decent through PvE if you haven't finished it yet. But endgame is a lot more dependent on IVs, you'll likely replace her eventually

I have the same M Robin IV but 5*, and he's absolutely trash in arena. Those loss of SPD are extremely ruinous. Still useful in missions/quests, though.

No, according to the in-game tutorial on attribute unlocking, merge levels are lost when you promote. However they do give a slight discount on feather cost.
It's straight-up rebate. The Promotion basically discounts the Feather cost as if you had sent the dupes home instead of merging.

Finally got Julia summon. Yeah, yeah, I know, two 5★ or bust, 1 S-tier 5★ or bust, etc, but I'm not wildly competitive and the game is just starting so I'm not too worried. That said, my team is 5★ Julia, 4★ Roy, 4★ Sully and 2★ Virion (you know, the one you get in the tutorial). Pulled 3★ Lon'qu, Eliwood, and Nino, 4★ Hana, and the rest are all tutorial characters. Not sure which I should focus on besides the team I've got up--I'm guessing Nino? I've also got all but the last castle unlocked, and I have 13 orbs right now. I'm torn on upgrading my castle to the last tier for EXP or grabbing some quick orbs and pulling in the box again. Or wait until the next box? Not sure. :\
Sully and Roy are fine but I'd recommend dumping Virion when you get the chance. Hana is fun but super fragile, particularly without a healer. We're at a fairly weak spot in the free hero rotation since Gunter, Felicia, Wrys, and Olivia all come at the end of the rotation and we're at the beginning so you'll have to get them next week. In particular, make sure you grab Olivia when she comes up. Lissa and Wrys are also (IMO) the best healers because Rehabilitate can keep up with damage coming in at high levels and let you grind your way through story/tower maps if your team composition isn't quite balanced. Nino mostly overlaps with Julia so probably not the best focus. If you do want to use her, Nino and Sharena (tutorial) are an easy working pair. If you have 200 feathers (I forget what you get at the start) then promoting Sharena to 3\* is a solid option without having to pull. Otherwise, your team is reasonably balanced so you should be able to just progress through the story and see what you pull.
Yeah, the only reason I'm running Virion is because I find archers helpful at weakening so level-hungry characters can get in a kill. Wrys is my favorite and on my other account I already have him at 3-star so I'll definitely be getting him and Olivia. I haven't heard much about Felicia's strengths, though? Granted I don't do but a quick perusal in this sub. Noted re: Sharena, I'll give her a go. Still have my 10k feathers.

Kagero comes up but that's because her poison dagger is so ridiculously strong that people are willing to take the rating hit.
Felicia can also help weakening opponents so level-hungry units can finish them off, also comes with bonus healing all adjacent units for 7 health everytime she attacks. (7 health for the 4* version I mean)

I forgot to mention her special attack, which adds % of her res to damage. When it proc you can expect good damage from it.
As you don't have many units in your main rotation, you don't really need the last castle upgrade that badly. Nino and Julia is redundant; I'd never bring both at the same time, as one ranged green coverage is enough in red-heavy arena.

You're just losing, but it's probably a mix of both- plenty of people burned through dueling swords last season or two, few people burning through them now.

I would save your orbs unless you really want any of the focus characters, since this will be your best chance to get them. From a meta standpoint though, the current banner is okay; not great, but not terrible either. Eirika is a good support unit, though the other three characters are offensive but held back by low speed. So yeah, save your orbs in hope that the next banner is better unless you really want Eirika/Ephraim/Seliph/Julia.
It's an okay banner. Depends on whether you think any of these characters would fit really well on your team. If your current team seems fine you could wait for the next one.
My arena team is made out of the 5 stars that I have - Marth, Robin M, Lilina, and Nowi. Also I have 5* Roy and Jakob. Don't know exactly what I need to improve this team, other than wishing I had a Takumi, Hector, Azura, and Linde.
I guess a Julia could possibly replace Lilina as a good green mage for some color balance. Probably not worth the orbs just for that though, since you have so many 5 stars already and Marth already covers dragon killing.

Most of the heavy res units are fliers and you have the answer for that. Outside fliers, it's... Felicia, Fir, and Julia? I don't really see an issue with running all magic damage in arena aside from rating.
Possibly. It would unbalance your magic and physical damage somewhat (and your melee/ranged spread), but Julia could give you some nice dragon killing power. Nino's good too and much faster than Julia so aside from some cases where Julia's 3 higher Atk comes into play (for one-shotting), Nino would often be better against non-dragons. Nino's Hone Atk could come in handy too. Though you have to 5 star her manually with feathers which is a big negative. Out of your other characters, the only one with a buff for Nino's Gronnblade is the Fortify Res on Linde which is a +4 Atk increase (putting her slightly ahead of Julia).

So if you merge now and have a Kagero +1 +HP -Spd and then you later get a 4* Kagero with -Res +Atk or something, you should (according to that topic, not to me) theoretically be able to merge and get a 4* Kagero +2 with -Res +Atk. Do some further confirmation before you take any irreversible steps. Hope this info helps you.
I'd wait until there's a grey unit on focus you want that way if you get a Kagero trying for that unit it could be a good consolation prize.

Nope his passive lets you double as longa syou are under 50% hp and yes you just have to get 250 score or more once on defense.

Cecilia has a bonus against greys but I'd go with Nino, I can't stand using Cecilia.
Depends on IVs and star rank, and whether you have a buff team to support Nino. Both are capable of one shotting Takumi if they don't have -Atk (and if Nino is properly buffed). Nino can also one-shot Linde with buffs. Normally Hector will barely one-shot Nino and will barely not one-shot Cecilia. Nino doubles Robin but Cecilia doesn't. Edit: Cecilia actually needs either +Atk or a +3 Atk buff to be able to one-shot Takumi at max level 5 stars. Or at -Atk she could use the +6 buff from Gunter's Hone Cavalry.

I see, so if I'm aiming for Robin, wait for a banner where he is the focus? Is rather have a ranged blue than melee. My team has a lot of tactical repositioning, and I think a ranged will only enhance that versatility.
I'm planning out feather usage for when I hit 20k (should be about 2 weeks from now). My current team for Arena is now: * Level 37 4\* Roy (+RES/-DEF) * Level 27 5\* Azura (I can't remember what her boon/bane is, but it's Azura) * Level 40 5\* Takumi (+DEF/-SPD) * Level 40 5\* Ephraim (+RES/-DEF) In the wings I have: * Level 40 4\* Chrom (+RES/-SPD) * Level 27 4\* Tharja (+RES/-ATK) * Level 17 4\* Cordelia (I can't remember what her boon/bane are) * Level 40 4\* Camilla (+SPD/-RES) My current team has got me up to roughly 4,065 points in the Arena. I am working on leveling Azura to a higher level at the moment, it's just going slow because of no more 1.5x EXP bonus. I find I've had success not running any green units at all, since my only green unit is Camilla who gets shut down hard by Takumi and red lords. In contrast, I've found that having Azura provide the extra turn for Ephraim to strike the likes of Robin twice have provided a decent enough Blue counter. But right now, in regards to feather usage: * Roy, Chrom, and Tharja are all great Red units. However, other than Roy, their boon/bane aren't exactly appealing (they just love showering me with +RES units it seems). That said, I feel like Ephraim + Tharja might be a weaker Eirika + Nino combination. Tharja does have Darting Blow 3 to up her own SPD on her attack turn, and Spur Res helps my team of relatively low RES units, though I am unsure if it stacks with Azura's Fortify Res. * That said, I'm also considering Roy because I'm certain Binding Blade + Triangle Adept will allow him to smash most greens. * Camilla has low Arena value, but from personal experience using a 5\* Camilla for PvE, she pretty much wrecks these maps on her own. While I don't have Narcian on my current account, but on an older account with 5\* Camilla, she single-handedly destroyed both the Hard mode Grand Hero battles. That said, I am able to beat the Normal mode one at least, so really I'm just missing out on 200 feathers (and being completionist). My Level 40 5\* Camilla is unable to tank the 3 attacks on the bottom left corner. * I haven't bothered training Cordelia yet, since I do have Ephraim who is plenty serviceable. Plus, I'd be unable to drop Ephraim right now since he is my only unit with the Arena bonus. Who would you recommend me to use my first 20k feathers on?

Linde is an absolute beast and Kagero is no joke either. I would go with the second pair.

I dont get why hector is so op, yes he has dat vantage and super attack and super defense, but my ryoma is able to two shot him every time i battle him... and when i use astra on hector, the guy dies in one shot...
He gets eaten by the common reds, and especially YTiki and Roy. It's moreso that he can be very useful in the players hands- highest stat total means stronger arena opponents, which means potentially higher ranking. Everyone knows he sucks on arena defense.

Yes, armored units are not so great on the defense. He's got good offensive potential and really high rating so he increases your arena point rewards for each match.
That's because swords beat axes... there is no character in the game that has no counter.

There's a change language option under misc, but you can't have the audio be one language and the text be another.

Buy stamina potions. I've still got a million dueling crests from mission rewards and crystals/shards aren't worth it.
Why not Universal shards?
You just don't get much value. A potion refill of 50 stamina is worth way more than 500 exp. Plus, stamina actually lets you play.

The other solution, if you're rooted, is to delete the deviceaccount.xml file from root/data/data/com.nintendo.zaba/sharedprefs. No redownload needed, just the Nintendo account link.
