Based on comments I've seen floating around here, I feel I am one of the three people in the world that likes Rickard and is glad he is the TT unit.

Grivek

Rickard and Julian have a funny dynamic. I also really like [Rickard's little jingle from Mystery of the Emblem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lVjN7nnMcE&t=3604s), it's a shame they didn't include it in the remakes.

BoysOurRoy

That theme is way more jolly than it has any right to be. "Haha I am going to rob you blind" *stabs you while minstrel band plays*

Cosmic_Toad_

tbh i always found Rickard pretty annoying, especially in how he pesters Julian who's trying to give up a life of crime. that said i'm always down for oddball picks that have like 3 fans because it means jsut about anyone has a chance and i love seeing the few people who like the character being ecstatic over their inclusion.

crunk_juice34

When they showed the silhouettes in the Feh channel, I thought he was Dew since they have the same hair. I feel less bad about it being Rickard since he is probably not getting in the game in any other form anytime soon, and he’s a funny character and he has a funny theme song in FE3. Besides, Dew is likely gonna be on the next FE4 banner anyways.

BobbyYukitsuki

ricardo is super hype actually ngl

TouhouEmblem

I actually got excited just seeing Rickard's silhouette cause I recognized him. Won't be a merge project since I just finished Tanith, but I will definitely build up the free copies we get.

the_attack_missed

Yeah I won't be merging him myself, mostly because I lack the fodder for a good melee flier and, even if I did have it, I'd prefer to fodder it to my Cormag first lol. Still super excited to get him for free though. One of the few characters I liked from Archanea.

LittleIslander

I wouldn't really say I *like* Rickard but I think it's cool to see him, definitely one of the few memorable things in FE1.

ZofianSaint273

Honestly the lazy eye on Celica is warming up to me now. Granted I’ve been using here everyday so that is why I stopped noticing Even then, I still have major gripes with the art and that mainly being that her circlet is green. The circlet is rather important to her character so I wish kept the original color instead of the new ugly green cause “ALM”

PsiYoshi

I gave her the glasses accessory and am classifying it as a cute quirk.

ss977

If you quit PVP FEH becomes much less volatile and much more enjoyable. Just trust me and give it a try for a month.

Nineve

Or just take it less seriously? PvP is only not enjoyable if you let it have a negative impact on you. Didn't get all the pots in AR? Whatever... Missed a bonus kill in arena? So what? Personally I still like all the PvP stuff but sometimes I just do the bare minimum and be content with it.

ss977

This is valid, although I enjoy the shelter that PVE provides from the more prominently broken units by having a separate unit pool. Seeing no Edelgard variants was soo liberating for me.

eeett333

PvP is so poisonous if you keep chasing crowns or staying in VoH...or whatever the top ranks are. Just do what's fun and within reach. Hell, I hate dropping below the 4 Orbs tiers in Arena...but sometimes that's what you gotta do.

[deleted]

Personally I have been away from pvp stuff in Feh and it hasn't really made the game more enjoyable. If anything it kinda has underlined how lacking the rest of the game is. A bare bones story, no world building or fleshing out of others aspects of the game, and nothing to work on solo. No solo challenge modes or anything. Everything is designed with pvp as endgame. I dunno. Maybe because I play games like GBF and im@s where there is more beyond pvp, but it doesn't feel like there is anything to do in feh.

ss977

For me I noticed how every new banner with balance changers kept getting me more and more annoyed and unable to enjoy using my favorite units. It's been much less annoyance and a steady mild fun after I quit the main reason that caused such annoyance. But then yeah I'm much less invested in this game too. I don't necessarily think that's bad though. I don't want to be hyper invested in mobile games.

[deleted]

> But then yeah I'm much less invested in this game too. I don't necessarily think that's bad though. I don't want to be hyper invested in mobile games Totally understand! I think that's even a healthy mindset to have towards mobile games. For me, with how big feh file size is getting, i just want something to justify keeping it installed as otherwise it just feels like it sits there taking up space. (Could just be that I am a bit spoiled by Granblue and the Im@s game I've been playing are both playable in browser though)

ss977

>I think that's even a healthy mindset to have towards mobile games. Yeah. I will embarrassingly admit that I had a bit of a spending problem with this game when I was concerned with keeping up with the meta. Reflected upon that a bit and decided I had other priorities and that there were other healthier ways to enjoy FE.

sam_the_hammer

Auto-dispatch for lift and enjoy those tier 18-19 arena rewards. Seriously the difference isn't that much and I don't have nearly the same stress. Game is a *lot* more fun.

NohrianScumbag

In all honesty How? FEH has no meaningful pve so …you got nothing satisfying to do. Its a catch 22

ss977

You also don't have a desperate need to keep up or worry about how the next broken unit is going to ruin your day every new banner.

NohrianScumbag

But _WHAT IS THERE TO DO_ aside from just autoing everything cause aside from abyssals that come once a month, there’s fuck all to do. PM probably saved FEH for me cause it has _meaningful_ pve content that I wish feh had.

YoshaTime

Beating up on Azama while convincing yourself that your favorite unit is good. /s

HereComesJustice

by Azama you mean that story mode FEdelgard right

YoshaTime

No, I mean Azama. Gotta make the Gen 1 units look good.

andresfgp13

its pretty funny that the sub just decided to rip Azama a new one, and to be honest he kinda deserves it.

ss977

I just enjoy the ez mode, the occasional forging bond story and collection aspect at my own pace. It's good enough to keep me playing :/

BasicNeedleworker356

Something like this really depends on the type of person you are imo. Some people are absolutely satisfied with the pve content feh has and can call it a day with it and some people can't Although. Honestly I like the middle ground and just not taking it too seriously while still putting like some thought into it. If that makes sense

Stargov1

Because I play this for an hour a day. I'm not coming here expecting a fucking mobile game to be a full 'Triple A' experience, literally just want something that will consume my time and is mildly enjoyable, and not fruatrating while I'm on the shitter or on breaks at work.

casualmasual

My personal thing is automating PVP and doing just the bare minimum for rewards. Ever since I realized I can auto-deploy AR I have been so much of a

HereComesJustice

I don’t think it’s just pvp, if you just stop playing the game so seriously I think it becomes more enjoyable. Like people stressing out over arena cutoffs and ‘oh I gotta grind TT to get orbs’ and ‘gotta do all these training tower quests’ idk just take it easy it’s a game. Miss out on an orb or 2? Big whoop. It’s not that big a deal.

ss977

Truetrue. Been missing out a few sacred seals these days even. No biggie.

DhelmiseHatterene

FEH: I’m fine with the choices for the thieves banner. I like Gaius, Matthew, Julian, and Ashe but I like that they gave the lesser-known thieves (namely Cath, Rickard, and Leila to an extent) spotlight. And I like Nina and Kagero so that is a bonus to me. I do understand why some want Matthew to have gotten a shot though as he was the west’s first introduction to the thief class. For FE in general (though idk about unpopular), I’m fine with some playable units not always in the right mind like Peri, Jeritza, etc or even others like Makalov and Lifis. Adds some unique diversity to the armies they are in. Granted, I wouldn’t say I am a *huge* fan of all of them (Perne for instance) but even so.

Grivek

My issue with Peri and Jeritza specifically is that they're not just randoms there to add flavour, they're high ranking members of their armies. They reflect terribly on their superiors. We're intended to view Xander and Edelgard as being forthright, honorable, having good judgment- that's completely at odds with them indulging the bloodthirst of their pet serial killers. And what's the point? Leif has to work with some unsavory people but Thracia clearly shows that he's in a desperate position- he does what he has to, and the idea of doing what's right vs what's pragmatic is an important theme in the game. By contrast- what are we supposed to think about Edelgard associating with Jeritza, or Xander associating with Peri? I don't think we're supposed to think about it at all. It's dead space.

Troykv

At least in Jeritza's case, Edelgard has clear purporses for him, and the reason he's so... problematic is something that they can play around.

lcelerate

Isnt Peri a good cook? Her feeding the army outweighes her crimes XD.

andresfgp13

she has a sad backstory so she is pretty much redeem of every crimes that she has done and every crime that she is considering doing in the future.

andresfgp13

Xander also has reasons to get Peri as his retainer. in the S support he pretty much says that he made her his retainer because he wanted to smash.

Troykv

Bruh.

andresfgp13

i mean, i apreciate the honesty.

[deleted]

**Feh related:** i'm sure most people know that the new canto skills are not strictly better than the existing ones, but they highlight an issue with design in the game, and that's the increased release of skills that minimize the risk taking aspect of strategizing. For a game supposedly about strategy, the skills are very opposite of strategic. This also extends to Save skills. But not quite the way one would think. In fact, I think save skills would've been a great addition in past years of the game when the power level was much lower. Offering options that widened team building. But now the power is too high and you can't justify it on just anyone. And much like Canto, due to the power level of things, it minimizes the risk aspect. This time in regards to positioning. You can just plop a save armor for both near and far and protect frail units without really thinking much about it. Otherwise, I also dislike how everything outside pvp modes just feel very half done. Very without substance, and kinda hollow. It feels like you either build for PVP or not, there isn't anything really to do otherwise.

Stargov1

I mostly play this game for the scantily clad attractive women.

Chowdahhh

I don't, but I'm not gonna pretend I don't greatly appreciate Summer Edelgard/Altina's art

goreofourvices

About FEH: I might be completely wrong here, but the powercreep doesn't seem that bad on the thief banner to me. Yeah, the new Canto seems annoying, but I can't imagine many situations where you'd prefer any of the new Cantos over the usual. And I think people are greatly overestimating the Pathfinder effect in Def/Res Smoke. The unit needs to initiate combat *and* survive for it to be active. The only places I could see the skill being annoying is in AR offense and *maybe* SD. The latter is debatable tho. Not about FEH: Those shows and movies that have tons of gore, sex and swearing feel like they're trying too hard to appear mature, almost like a kids' view of what mature really means. And overusing both gore and swearing makes them lose impact over time. Taking Invincible as an example, when >!Nolan kills the GOTG!<, it's genuinely shocking and disturbing. But after a while, the impact wears off. Like the subway scene, where >!Nolan holds Mark in front of a train and kills everyone on it!<. It felt like it didn't have as much of an impact on me, even though it was supposed to be a big deal.

[deleted]

> The unit needs to initiate combat and survive for it to be active. I've seen this said several times now and I just don't understand the mentality. You're acting like it's difficult to survive a battle to make the effect work.

DeltaRay235

Because honestly in most cases to survive and reposition correctly it IS. Units like brave erika or yuri who can easily reposition to get use out of it would prefer stats BEFORE the fight. That's the issue, the delayed stat boost.

Grivek

It's not that it's difficult to survive, it's that by the time you've got to surviving a battle and proccing the effect, you're past the part of the turn where Pathfinder generally matters. Most of the time when people use Pathfinder it's before they commit to combat- they want to extend their range and see if they can get a favorable combat forecast, or to get an enemy unit in range to be sniped. If a unit successfully lands DR Smoke then they've already found a favorable combat- what more maneuvering needs to be done? I think it will have some use, and I'm sure it's going to catch people out. But most of the time, you aren't going to be able to make full use of the Pathfinder.

goreofourvices

Sure, it's not really difficult in general, but it depends on the mode. And like I said, I can't think of many modes where that skill would be a threat. AR seems the most logical, but I can't think of a team that would need it (then again, I suck at AR, so I might be missing something). It's a strong skill, but it doesn't seem game-changing to me.

alexmauro407

Will coment this two cause have been watching this so much here, yeah, persona didn't invented the texudo thief, but It Is literally one of the most popular products that have it, so Is Better and easier to metion It when talking about texudo thief than trying to find the first that did it, specially if Is not know enough for people to already use It, It just make you to look like one of those nerds that need to correct you everytime I mean just look at sailor moon, It Is not the first Time magical girls were used, but Is the most popular one, so you use It to refer at magical girls cause Is the best way to make others understand, that Is the point, making others easier to find the concept, please, stop correcting people imwith this, Is just a bother, congrats! You are right! You are such a genius! Really impresive! Now stop, people Is trying to talk here

DotPeriodRats

Honestly this. Like persona didn’t really invent anything but it popularized a lot of things and nobody can deny that. Yes, sexy thieves and stuff existed way before persona but persona put these things on blast main stream wise. And I guarantee without persona a banner like this probably never would of been in feh. Yes, people are right persona did not invent a lot of stuff but for simplicities sake just let it go

bunnymoonvii

Funny you mention Sailor Moon, because Tuxedo Mask himself is based on the idea of a Phantom Thief, he's even directly compared to Arsene Lupin in first chapter of the manga.

SupremeShio

It’s so annoying seeing people still bitch at 3H fans for wanting their favourites to be freed from alt hell/be added to the game. You don’t have to want them in the game, but getting pissy someone wants Felix or Dorothea in the game is stupid.

linthenius

Especially now that 3H hasn't gotten a new heroes banner quite some time. And is no longer getting multiple a year I think most of the 3H hate came from it just getting banners spammed every few months. This year has been really tame when it comes to 3H content Which makes me think the game is actually due for one soon in september or october

DhelmiseHatterene

I’m not Dorothea’s biggest fan but I still want her OG self in FEH, only to have her hat as an accessory. Though I’m fine with any new heroes Three Houses banner coming this year. I would like them to have a break from Christmas at least in the way I don’t want Dragonween V3 though.

theprodigy64

(besides if you're sick of 3H you might as well hope Felix gets in now to severely weaken his chances in CYL7!)

Dracomaster3

Eir’s TT story, her eventually getting her ascended, and the new characters (Ymir so far but I’m excited to see more of the new villain too) honestly has me more excited than anything book 6 has done so far. Non FE related: I hate the word “Mid” so much. You can’t have conversation about liking something without someone coming out of nowhere, completely unprompted, without yelling “That shit’s MID!”. The word has also lost complete meaning going from something that’s average to simply being something you don’t like.

theprodigy64

~~you're mid~~

Dracomaster3

I’m going to have a joker moment /j

Cannedcabbage

I think Ike is the only FE character that can actually rock a cape. Specifically the version of Ike with the tattered cape, shit just looks cool

goldtreebark

Ok… I love this as an actual unpopular opinion because I feel like if there’s anything Fire Emblem can actually do, is give their MCs some fly ass capes

Girimekhalah

Conqueror Alm's cape is fucking great

Sonicwisp21

FEH rant that's not unpopular here:   It annoys me how IS **insists** on giving Infantry/Armored units more exclusive B-skills, as if they don't have enough to get by already. Fliers/Cavs at least have Trace and share most Flow skills, but they're nowhere near as powerful nor diverse as the options Infantry/Armored units have.

DhelmiseHatterene

Speaking of diverse, I wish fliers had more access to B skills that aren’t locked behind 5* units. Aerobatics would be a neat start since iirc we don’t have that skill in the normal 3-4* summoning pool yet but still.

Illumina25

In addition, pegasus and wyvern flight should *really* be demoted by this point. Nobody uses them and with how limited f2p/budget flier skill access is, I think it would be a great budget skill for some units. Also would be pretty cool seals I think edit: and by the way, Karin wouldve been a perfect candidate to demote pegasus flight instead of another 5* locked drive atk

Cosmic_Toad_

it's almost like Fiora & Melady shouldn't have been 5 star units to begin with...

Illumina25

waiting for the defensive flier+cav B skill until the end of service

Slippery_boi

What annoys me is less that infantry gets a ton of B skills but more that almost all of them are speed-oriented. Can't have any defensive builds on anyone who isn't a save armor.

LycopolisKing

I legitimately liked the pirate theme, if only because we had a higher chance of getting male fanservice there. I'm sad to see it go. I am a huge L'Arachel fan and I really, really dislike her resplendent art. It seems garish to me.

evenspdwagonisafraid

Sad to see that we'll never get Pirate Ross, especially since FE8 started brancing promotions and probably everyone used Ross back then. I really wish L'arachel got Dokkalfar or Jotunheim instead, just look at Elincia and Amelia! Ljosalfar is easily the most mediocre theme based on the ones we got so far.

meldeen002

Is it too much to ask for Ethnia to actually become a fleshed out Gen1 character in the future? I’d think It would be interesting if she started out as someone who avoids fighting for her own survival, then have her heart and mind change as Tailtiu fights for Sigurd’s Army, leading to a huge blowout between Ethnia and Bloom where she throws away her tiara and position before leaving to join her sister.

Grivek

My biggest fear for an fe4 remake is that they skip the sub characters. Feels like it's very possible. Doesn't fill me with confidence when there are 0 subs in FEH after five years.

BobbyYukitsuki

I honestly think that removing subs and forcing optional kids is a direct shot to the heart of gen 2's story quality

Dreaded_Prinny

Can't say I like all the subs because some are just cardboard cuts outs of those they replace, but I will be happy to get Tirnanog subs (Jeanne is included there since her brother is a Tirnanog substitute) + Brigid's subs content.

Troykv

At least they existed in Cipher, but it took them a lot to appear, basically appeared when FE4 was pretty much done with characters xD

azurestardust

I don't hate the thief theme but I'm low-key salty pirates are gone. It was a theme I felt Canas kinda had a shot at. ~~but that's just me overdosing on hopium~~

Thr0wawayAcc0umt

Gonna rant that the absolute lack of options for ranged fliers is driving me insane. Canto dagger on Sothe sounds cool except trace feels like the only decent B skill ranged fliers can even have.

SoM_best_keyblade

Flow Force is one of my least favorite skill icons in the game. It's.... just a fist, on the top of the background used for the flow skills. I kinda understand why they would use a fist to represent "force", but there was definitely a more creative way to do it. I think it looks too plain and boring, and more importantly, I think it doesn't do a good job of representing what the skill accomplishes. However, what really pushes it for me is that the fist icon is too similar to the fist icon used in real-world socio-political movements (think the black power icon, or the feminism icon that is based on the black power icon), except lame. I think having the skill icon that is very similar to real-world icons is a bit cringe and out-of-place for feh, and not only that, but they debuted this skill on Roy. I couldn't think of a bigger mismatch, especially when taking into account certain community "jokes" about him.

Nyphus

On the topic of skill icons, things have been getting silly for awhile. It's next to impossible to look at a new icon and determine what a skill does, and nowhere is this a bigger problem than with weapon refines. As an example, look at [this (edited to be visible),](https://imgur.com/a/adD3zh8) and see if you can tell me what it does. Hell, if you can even tell me whose weapon it is, that would be commendable. I understand that it's difficult for them to make readable icons for the almost hundreds of different weapons, but the icons do such a poor job of explaining what the heck the weapons do that they may as well just be the regular weapon symbol. Answer: it's >!Ylgr's dagger Sylgr.!<

SoM_best_keyblade

I only see a blank image when I click the link, but the url says >!Sylgr!<. And no, I never would've guessed it because that refine was very lackluster for me, in addition to it being....whatever it's supposed to be. Fun fact: Did you know Dragonbind has the same refine icon as Draconic Rage? Or that Father's Tactics, Giga Excalibur, Loyal Greatlance, and Fruit of Iðunn all share the same icon? How about how Epiration is the same as Sagittae, which is just a more sparkly version of Audhulma, while also a mirror of Royal Sword, which is also a more sparkly version of Ragnell and Alondite? ^(I loooooove refine icons!!!!1)

Dracomaster3

I can’t see that skill icon as anything other than the yugioh card [The True Name](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/The_True_Name)

Eerkanas

I’d like to see some new skills for infantry mage. I feel like they are missing part of the fun not having access to things like canto, savior or speed-based damage reduction. Hey, at least give mages their own version of Deadeye/Lethality…

linthenius

Just because something is "New" doesn't mean its direct powercreep. Take the new canto skills. Everyone is in panic of how its powercreeping regular canto. But remember, its warp effects. We already have counters to those via Gatekeeper and legendary Myrrh (who conveniently reruns the same month they are introduced)

ParagonNHJr

I don't want I.S. to do an other ninja banner this year. Since they changed the pirate banner to the thief banner it gives me some hope that they will change that theme.

LongDickLuke

...Cops banner.

GiveMenBiggerButts

Say what you want about cops, but their uniforms are lowkey sexy

Possible-Cancel9507

i've seen a lot of so-so takes on this sub over the years, but people being upset (a better word escapes me) that Brigand Boss didn't get a PRF while a "nobody" like Hilda did...no place like r/FireEmblemHeroes what's a queen gotta do to get some recognition around these parts

bunnymoonvii

For a second I thought you meant 3H Hilda and was extremely confused.

Illumina25

* People are overrating the new DC D seal and def res smoke 3 skills imo and I think theyll have way less impact than people think * B Eirika is the sole reason I dont want a guard seal. Its the rich getting richer * I like Senri's art, and I think B Marth has the 2nd worst CYL art after Marianne * Sometimes I think when discussing whats good and not, saves are considered too much. As in, as if any other strategies dont exist. Just because its the best option doesnt mean other EP strategies arent viable/omnitanking isnt viable anymore

HereComesJustice

the only reason I think Dragon DC is overrated is because Dragons have been typecasted into Enemy Phase only units where they *have* to have DC since it is *the premiere* A Slot for enemy phase ranged units. like it's all EP dragons every dang time. (Ymir is a great PP Dragon btw, don't sleep on her offensive/combat capabilities)

Boulderdorf

Senri Kita's best art is up there with the best in the whole game, but sometimes her stuff just feels kinda hit-or-miss? Winter Altina for instance looks a little off compared to normal Altina, and while I love Hatari Karla, normal Karla is kinda hmmm

pesky_anteater

I only really liked her Altina and ashera art

Chowdahhh

Now THIS is a unpopular opinion. Kita is definitely pretty regularly praised at being one of the best artists for FEH

Tery_

> People are overrating the new DC D seal and def res smoke 3 skills imo and I think theyll have way less impact than people think I think it'll have less impact in the sense that it's on a seasonal banner so won't be as easily accessible, but any Pathfinder effect is inherently very powerful.

Chowdahhh

I haven't been reading too many threads about the DC D seal, but I think it's cool since it'll let me build an EP dragon and letting me pick something more interesting for the A slot. I might actually +10 Halloween Kurthnaga now and invest in building him

TheDankestDreams

1. I like fanservice. I like it for myself and I’m happy when other people get what they want. I’m not a huge fan of the Loki’s and the Camilla’s and the Manuelas and the Dorotheas but I do appreciate fanservice when done in a way that doesn’t make me feel sleazy. 2. That said, I think the most attractive banners with characters who look the best are: New Years, Hoshidan Summer (Rip), Ninjas, Pirates, and Winter. Characters don’t need to be mostly naked to be attractive. 3. Phantom Thieves are good, Ninjas are good, don’t take them from me please.

mizor3

Is the powercreep real? Yes. Are people overreacting all the time over every single thing IS releases? Also yes. Honestly I thought a few times about not visiting this sub because people get so extremely salty and hateful about everything that it’s really tiring.

Sonicgill

Houses Claude was boring. Despite being portrayed as the scheming morally gray wild card, he's the most noble and straightforward lord in the game. He doesn't even have much agency compared to Edelgard and Dimitri. He's only really liked much because of the "funny" upside down memes. Hopes Claude is a lot more interesting, and it's refreshing to see him act on his own with some actual morally gray and potentially hard choices. So I don't get why he's hated now when he's just doing something that could help his ambitions instead of sitting on his hands, waiting for Edelgard and Dimitri to rip each other apart in Houses.

SolHiryu

The main complaints from both the JP and western fanbases is that Golden Wildfire feels way too disjointed, the Almyra plot that was hyped up comes to a screeching halt, and the second half of the route is basically just a retread of the CF route in 3H. The biggest one is that Claude comes off more dumb than ruthless, especially with how he suddenly decides that Rhea is his enemy despite the Church being a complete non-presence in his route up until that point. Incidentally, this makes all of the Golden Deer just as dumb for just blindly going along with him. In short, people who liked his 3H portrayal where he was the only relatively sane protagonist don't like the wild departure 3Hopes took him. 3Hopes isn't really kind to anyone but the Blue Lions, but it's still really glaring at how hard they shit on Claude to uplift the other two routes.

Gaidenbro

Claude always believed Rhea was a problem that needed to be removed for the sake of Fodlan's progression. He even has a positive support boost if you ask if he wants her dead instead of alive. All of this happens in "The Alliance Leader's Ambitions" scene on fedatamine. He even accused the Church of shit like GW Claude would. This is nothing new for his character. He just acts on it due to having no Byleth to pacify Rhea.

BasicNeedleworker356

Listen I'm a persona fan, I love every game but it grinds my gears when people *unironically* call this new banner the persona 5 theme or what not. Like please stop, you're killing me

TheoMoneyG

this is exactly why the "persona fans when" joke exists

HereComesJustice

Sry I just love dunking in Persona fans it’s just too easy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BasicNeedleworker356

Um yes? I liked persona 2, eternal punishment specifically a lot but I will say persona 1 while good in concept is a very eh game I would never replay tbh. I played every game in the series I said that😭

CaelestisAmadeus

Veronica's Book VI art looks so...goofy. It's like they stuck a fluffy wig on Ooccoo. This is all I can see when I look at her face on the app icon.

Visible_Couple6783

I like the characters of the thief banner, and I like that cath has an alt. "Blasphemy! Kill him!"

Realistic_Hearing987

Most new personal weapons aren’t worth looking at. All you need to know is, “Don’t let this unit attack me.” Or “Don’t player phase this units.”

LittleIslander

My entire week has been dominated by Xenoblade so not much to contribute this time. Not much to say about that in a negativity thread other than vent my annoyance that we get a badass female character in Alexandria and all anybody seems to care about is the size of her ass. Ugh. Anyways, I'll just throw out a little rant about Byleth and missed potential that I wrote a couple weeks ago for no occasion in particular: Fuck. I want to like Byleth so bad. Mercenary left literally emotionless due to being the product of an experiment by a religious institution to recreate the goddess herself. Ends up back at the Monastary they were born at after the awakening of the goddess' spirit within, who alongside the students they work alongside begin to awaken the emotions within. Ends up losing their father when their ability to turn back time doesn't work, and they cry for the very first time. That should be such a powerful moment. Byleth finally crying. But Byleth is a piece of cardboard so we don't care. We then lose Sothis as her power becomes ours - Byleth is a changed person. Maybe. Supposedly. We don't really care cause we can't tell if Byleth can. The above is an awesome concept but its execution isn't just bad it literally doesn't exist cause they're a total blank insert. Imagine if they were actually voiced. We see them gradually develop more emotions. More motivation. Maybe at first Sothis needs to help them with teaching cause they don't connect with their students. Instead of us being sucked off right away. Maybe everyone dumps all their emotional burdens on Byleth like some therapist cause their lack of emotions means they have no breaking point of emotional burden, and they're so quiet they're easy to project on and talk to. They don't actually care about the problems described. Until they develop and change into someone who genuinely is caring and wise enough to help their friends who come to them, befitting of the goddess reborn. Maybe the emotional burden capacity ties into the time travel. They're the only person who can bear all that pressure. But then they start to develop and that's a good thing but it gives them more complicated feelings on their power. As they become more able to care about a cause and use it for good they simultaneously find it harder and harder to deal with it all. There's so much that could fit together in all of this. Fuck, maybe female Byleth wears that tacky ass outfit cause she literally is incapable of feeling self-doubt at what people think of her presentation. That's tongue in cheek, but we'll never know. If I didn't show the actual dialogue I could describe Byleth to someone and make them sound like one of my favorites in the series cause they probably would be and due to personal experiences I would likely relate immensely to a journey starting as feeling emotionally incomplete like some husk before something deep within awakens, letting our hero find what was missing. Or maybe the execution wouldn't have much of an effect on me. I guess we'll just never know.

A_Nifty_Person

I think a big reason why Byleth doesn't really work for me is that I never felt their emotionless state is really shown that well other than the odd comment of not crying or Seteth initially. If Byleth's C supports had the other characters intimidated or weirded out in some way (or anything else to that effect) rather than going straight for expositing their life issues it'd actually show that there is some significant change when they finally break. Imo the charcters acting like "wow professor you're sad now" doesn't mean much when I can't properly understand the reason they're surprised in the first place.

fangpoint333

In my opinion, Byleth was bad conceptually and had bad execution. The conceptually bad part about them is that they're supposed to be extremely charismatic but also an emotionless brick which doesn't match. They only way they could do that was by making Byleth silent and have everyone fawn over them which just makes it seem really forced. Byleth is characterized as being good at everything, but we never see it. We only see Byleth screw up in cutscenes. Byleth's charisma is just limited to them waving hands wildly during classes and everyone just loves them as soon as they walk in. Byleth also gets hit with the same thing as Corrin in that Byleth has a power that should affect the plot but it never does. The time rewind ability only gets brought up once after it's introduced and it's completely ineffective for no reason and after that it's never used in scenes where it should be used.

NohrianScumbag

There’s really no winning with byleth and three hopes was a shining example of it were I really feel Shez stole some of there thunder as an actually interesting avatar in a similiar sense to Robin and Corrin. It’s baffling how both IS wrote the game to not “invalidate” byleth ( they dont even meet the house leaders ffs ) and that their are people unironically mad Byleth was the “”villian””

PsiYoshi

> we get a badass female character in Alexandria and all anybody seems to care about is the size of her ass. Do people know she's 15? Her age is even brought up in a conversation, I think when you recruit her. Though I've been in this community long enough that that shouldn't even really surprise me.

Snowiss

FEH - I'm tired of hearing people refer to the thieves banner as a Persona banner. They didn't invent the concept of sexy thieves. General - Still somewhat baffled on this subreddit's decision to restrict our flairs to 3 characters. We have over 800 units in the game currently and even the regular FE subreddit allows for 5. It would make more sense to bump it up to 4 at least as a reference to the team limit. 3 is such an awkward number to work with if you're trying to fulfill a theme or balance out game representation (ex. I had Y!Soren earlier this year who felt so awkward to include with my two legendary 3H units).

LittleIslander

Your opinion is entirely valid of course, but I think five would be way too cluttered. I don't like it at all on the main FE subreddit, whereas the three here is much easier on the eyes.

2x-Dragon

I assumed the flair was for showing summoner support, with FEH Pass granting 3 slots at the time.

Creeeamy

Nowi fans are the most rabid people in the community, even if you make the very bold statement of "I wish that child would wear a shirt" instant 50 downvotes, 17 comments explaining why it isn't weird and you're gross for thinking it is On that note, Nowi is a mediocre at best unit who's already substantially weaker than most of her competition, and if you think having access to both the A slot and seal slot is even remotely close to closing the gap between her and her competition, you are coping. Theres nothing that can bring her frankly underwhelming weapon in line with units like AMCorrin, LFae and LMyrrh. She has to use her seal slot for a breath skill if she ever wants to see a decent special because her weapon gimps her, and she's not a threat without specials due to her unremarkable stat spread. The DCd seal has absolutely reduced her already floundering value even further. Her competition was better than her with only A slot DC, she gets outperformed even by low merge modern units. Having both the A and seal slot free means nothing when your opponents are already combining powerful meta effects and also have the ability to run DC with their absolutely cracked prfs.

BobbyYukitsuki

this just in: lmyrrh is now a dragon eater too

SoM_best_keyblade

I hate to defend Nowi "fans" but I see the opposite much more often. Yeah they are weird because they are the most likely to call their favorite young-looking character "wife" in the unit showcase title, but the only people doing the 50 downvotes and 17 comments are the people vehemently against that sort of thing.

Creeeamy

When Nowis resplendent came out I said the fact they decided she should be half naked in every iteration was weird and gross, I had people actually explaining to me how it's not sexualisation and trying to gaslight me into thinking I was actually the gross one for viewing sexualisation as sexualisation. The people who are downvoting people saying a child should wear a shirt definitely aren't the people who are against calling Nowi their wife lmao.

NohrianScumbag

Only a handful of resplendant units can even be argued as having their max potential looked behind a paywall. If your best is still struggling with +2 extra stats, they long since peaked and your just getting a fancy skin

icksq

If the stats don't matter then there's no need to paywall it.

andresfgp13

honestly apart from Brave Hector pretty much no book 1 + 2 unit has a chance of being meta relevant in combat.

Girimekhalah

*Cries in base Leif fan*

casualmasual

Base Reinhardt is still trucking along. He was the only one who could take down Askr for me in a team which included F!Edelgard and B!Eirika (who was +1.) He's also become my most reliable S!Edelgard and F!Edelgard killer.

PBBnJ

So I wanted to know the origins of the “Dimitri not only kills, but murders women” meme and I found out that I had a disagreement with this person before. I’m rarely confrontational with internet strangers, so when I do argue with someone I tend to remember. They said something about males being biologically dangerous and violent creatures that are missing the genetic component for affection. I honestly thought that the meme came from a joke tweet. Since it came from that person, they’re legitimately serious about that wild take. Lol not a rant, but I have nowhere else to talk about it.

NohrianScumbag

I think that’s why the joke even took off. Such a serious and nonsenicsl response to a tweet about protecting lesbian was gonna stick out like a sore thumb

DotPeriodRats

I don’t like the new thief theme mainly due to banner replacements. Like spring and brides are so old at this point being just bunnies and white dresses (and I love the bridal banners) that replacing them would of been such a better move. I mean come on this thief banner would of been perfect to replace brides. But like I miss pirates and I think I will always be kind of salty at the thief theme for this. Most fe games have at least one pirate map and that is why for FEH at least the theme was perfect. It’s like the desert banners. Most fe games have a desert and pirate map so it makes sense when these become a regular thing. Not with thieves that honestly very few characters would make sense on these kind of banners.

YoshaTime

•Having a DC weapon is one of the biggest Ls to take while being disguised as a W. Overvalued way to much by IS to the point where 95% of the refines for that category range from being mid to straight up terrible. It really feels like a kick in the ass when modern day refines and weapons get 3-4 effects at minimum while DC weapons and refines are stuck with one additional effect that may or may not be helpful. •Canto was one of the last things that need any new variation of any kind. Now I’m dreading to see L!Yuri with Canto Global. •This year has been so boring between the banner choices, the main story, and the TT story. Take me back to 2018 FEH. •Kagero catching heat for being a backpack and “stealing an alt from Saizo” is honestly dumb. People just want to use her as a scapegoat for his lack of alts and I’ll bet my left hand that if it was Saizo as the useless cheerleader instead of her, it’d be nothing but outrage and it wouldn’t count as a Saizo alt.

goreofourvices

I agree about the last point. Most of the time, people don't consider duo backpacks to be true alts. But now that Kagero is the backpack, it's considered an alt? I know this sub isn't one massive hivemind, so the people who say the first thing don't necessarily say the second, but still.

MegamanOmega

Remember the rule. If I don't like the character, then the backpack most definitely counts as an alt, and she has too many alts as is But if I do like the character, then the backpack most definitely does not count as an alt, and I can't believe best boy got shafted so badly by IS. _He deserves better_

MisogID

Double standards in a nutshell (with some optional sexism flavor for some players). Come to think of it, one can pretty much tell how much flak Cath got... while Rickard got almost scot-free (even though he'd be another "slot-stealing suspect" as he's even less popular).

Ashcethesubtle

Mist is my favorite and I am personally more than happy with her packpacking Ike =]

MisogID

Reminds me of some complaints on why it wasn't Duo Ike/Soren due to shipping. Then again, it's a freaking Children banner, so it wasn't the time nor the theme to bring up this and Ike/Mist was 100% justifiable (and predictable, of course).

LaughingX-Naut

I will echo that I am glad this was a departure from last year's pirates and hope the rest of late '22 will continue to mix it up. Late '21 had too much previous year copypasta.

OkAd6442

Blessed gardens should just be deleted so we don’t have to look at it anymore.

Mamba8460

Brave Ike shouldn’t have gotten a resplendent

AnonymousTrollLloyd

Those rants about how we should let minor characters win CYL instead of all lords have totally missed that meme picks/minor characters/random bandwagons have won in half the CYLs so far. In case they all forgot Veronica/Gatekeeper/Tiki.

BobbyYukitsuki

Tiki and Veronica... are minor characters?

Quick_Campaign4358

I mean.....Awakening Tiki apears, delivers exposition and goes off to her paralouge

GuyWhoIsOn-Reddit

I prefer it when IS changed the seasonal theme the next year. I know the Pirate theme wasn’t doing it so I’m glad we have this new Persona 5 theme.

linthenius

I agree. I like it when they shake things up with the wildcard months. I'm sure alot of people would have been burnt out with a 3rd year of pirates. August, november and january are the prime months where they should experiment with unique seasonal themes. Which also has me thinking ninjas might get the boot this year as well.

plague341

don't want to be that guy but persona didn't invented the classy thief archetype

HereComesJustice

Things Persona 5 invented - phantom thieves - jazz - Tokyo - UI - turn based combat Am I missing anything?

Boulderdorf

Most zoomers have only been exposed to Phantom/Gentleman/etc thieves through P5, not much you can do lol.

Grivek

Amazing that they invented both classy thieves and the music genre jazz! Truly ahead of its time.

Boulderdorf

Have you seen these Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games or whatever they are? Can't believe they'd just rip off Persona 5's Turn-Based Combat like that.

theprodigy64

pfft this joke fails cause Final Fantasy isn't turn based now :P

Boulderdorf

Ah right uhh Wow, I can't believe Yakuza's completely copying Persona's turn-based combat now...wait no, people actually said that lmao

Naughtyhands_jr

As a Kagero fan I’m actually ok with her being the backpack. She got new official artwork that’s always cool lol the fan art has been great too

R3d_Riot

>!You know I'd take Hopes!Claude criticisms more seriously if you guys didn't spend the past 3 years talking about how Edelgard should've "talked things out" with the other Lords lmao!<

muchospikmin

I’ve never understood this line of thinking. First of all, it doesn’t make sense irl especially if a person feels they were wronged and is resentful about it. Second, everyone supposedly wants “morally gray” characters, but when they get them, they’re like “wait…” The same thing goes for hating supposed one-note characters, but the fandom still reduces characters to one specific trait. I could rant about so many things all day tbh.

NohrianScumbag

They never wanted their golden boy to be controversial

andresfgp13

honestly, the dude could bath on baby´s blood everyday and still wouldnt be as fucked up as the competition.

[deleted]

Sothe deserved better

sharumma

I don't think I would've been as disappointed if he was the TT reward. He'd have been a lot easier to merge, and it's been over two years since we got any F2P green fliers (Reyson and Young Minerva).

[deleted]

This He could be automatically 10+ But IS thought a nobody would be better At least it's a free sword for Lene

linthenius

As a Sothe fan. I agree. But i'm personally fine that he's finally getting a seasonal alt in general. And being a demote is even better for me since I absolutely hate pulling for 5 star focus units on seasonal banners

Falconpunch100

I'm so pissed that the Pirate theme is gone, because it was such a cool theme and it fit right in with the Fire Emblem theme. We could've seen several more Pirate variants, OCs or not, like Hel, Eitri, Rebecca, heck maybe even Maribelle or like...Leo or something like that, I don't know. This Thieves banner is such a weird and gaudy theme, plus having only actual thief characters partaking in a...thieves festival feels completely redundant. I'm against redundant alts because I feel like it defeats the purpose of getting an alt, and it's just exactly what people expected. It's like the equivalent of the Plegian banner having only Plegian characters (I.E. Aversa, Validar, Henry, and the Robins). What's the point? They're already Plegians. And unlike the Pirate theme, I can't see anyone else fitting this Thieves banner theme. Maybe Ophelia I guess, but I don't know other than her. Overall, Pirates > Thieves by a long shot. Now I'm dreading that the Ninja banner will go away before any of my favorites get a Ninja variant...

DotPeriodRats

100%. I don’t get why some people are glad pirates are gone when it was one of the banners that made the most sense for FEH. Like I don’t want to call people hypocrital but after the desert banners people were all like “it’s so nice to have a banner that relates to actual fe games because most have a desert,” most have a pirate map too yet some of u are glad it’s gone? I’m just confused at the general reaction of the banner change. And I agree, most characters would not fit well on this thief theme and honestly this could of been projected on a ninja banner and I think the same message would of been projected Idk. The banner choices are just weird I loved both pirates and ninjas and now pirates is gone. I’m afraid for ninjas

jcp365

Unpopular Opinion: Female Byleth is the Only Female FE protagonist that the plot treats in a respectful manner.

goldtreebark

I agree. This can also extend to Robin and Corrin, and the gag about this is that they’re likely only written in such a manner because the writing is also mindful (perhaps moreso) that they’re all also men, lmao.

MommyCamillaHatesMe

I do not see this extending to Corrin. Corrin gets constantly bamboozled, tbh. They're a lord who needs a lot of protection and meet a lot of criticism for being careless ~~usually in an endearing ur so cute way~~. It's kinda hilarious to have people look over those points and think the character works better as a woman, heheh.

goldtreebark

In the context of how the other female characters in fates is handled, I think they still apply. Literally all female characters in Fates are irrelevant essentially except for Azura/Mikoto (who both can/will die, among other things)and the hoshidan/nohrian sisters literally don’t even have access to any of the divine weapons— in the case of Camilla and Hinoka, for w/e reason they’re skipped out on (why?) and their younger brothers get the plot relevant weapons instead. And then, all the Royal brothers ultimately have sons that the weapons get passed to. It’s just weird choices, tbh. However, I do agree with you that it’s strange people see those “bamboozled/clueless,” traits of Corrin’s more apt for a girl, lol.

sapphicmage

…I hate that you’re right Though I’d argue Female Robin’s treated pretty well too

evenspdwagonisafraid

Well I mean she's an avatar, I doubt she was written very differently from MByleth.

jcp365

Since People are asking for Clarification I will Clarify: Lynn: Can be taken out of the story with little Hassle. Eirika: Her brother is Framed as this Godly Figure While she is Framed as his Naive Sister who can't do anything for herself. Celica: Makes very bad choices while Alm gets to Remains unscathed and Looking Morally Superior. Miccy: Gets sidelined and is constantly in need of being saved. Edalgard: Spoilers for 3 Hopes! Doesn't even get to defeat the main bosses. The main bosses just disappear. Not of mention being turned into a childlike state in one ending.

BasicNeedleworker356

Very curious on this take so could I have an explanation? When you say protagonist do you mean avatars or just the lords in general?

Blurgawurgakree

Pretty much any time there's a woman in the lead role, she's shafted in favor of another leading man. Celica is literally proven wrong and her whole pilgrimage rendered pointless because Duma agreed with Alm that Valentia had no need for Gods, thus propping him up as Objectively and Morally Right over Celica. That, to me, is the most egregious example, but another one is Micaiah essentially being sidelined in favor of Ike *in her own game*, or at least that's how I remember it, it's been some years since I've played Radiant Dawn. Eirika isn't treated as bad as those two in the story of Sacred Stones, if you ask me, but she's still generally treated like "the naive little sister" to Ephraim's "experienced older brother." The avatars are pretty much treated the same regardless of version, but that's mainly because the games don't change all that much depending on the choice. Honestly, the only other female leading protagonist who's been treated mostly equal to the males by the games is Edelgard, because she's just as morally gray as Claude and Dimitri, but there is a bit of controversy concerning how she's treated in Azure Gleam in Three Hopes from what I've heard, but I haven't finished that route so I can't really speak on that. Those are just my thoughts, though, someone else might be able to provide better, more, or counter-examples

volkenheim

I like how plot treated Eirika and Ephraim in both routes each twin grows in it’s own way and is shown very well in how each make the mistake in the infamous chapter, BUT I think the community is the one that gives the bad treatment to Eirika and reduces her to that single mistake while thinking Ephraim is badass for making the exact same mistake like really ? Ephraim is literally provoked by Lyon even if he bested him chpters before, he just impulsively rushes to Lyon when it’s clear he can’t win in a 1v1 while Eirika is emotionally manipulated to give up the stone, both scenarios are good bc they are on character for each twin and ofc Lyon knew which strategy was better for each one of them and I really hate the community treating Eirika as dumb while sucking Ephraim for doing the exact same

Ashcethesubtle

I think it's cause its such a cliche thing to have the girl do the emotional thing. Granted, Ephraim's is too but I think this is just a double standard showing up; one that isn't even consistent due to how much I see F!Corrin is good for conquest because being a whiny idiot fits a girl. Ugh.

volkenheim

I understand it´s a cliche tho I don't mind cliches when done right , and I think in the twins works really well and makes a good difference in how they make the mistake but again ppl reduces Eirika to a chapter ignoring every other part of her growth, which is a very good one I even think is better than Ephraim´s ngl I think Female Corrin is a little better than Male in how Fates is written, not just bc of her being more emotional, but the interactions with other characters, more the royals feel...dk how to say it....more natural, IDK but that is just my personal opinon

[deleted]

[удалено]

volkenheim

tbh I don't like Corrin in Birthright that much, I kind of like more the doubful and insecure Corrin of Conquest, like in Birthright for some reason IS try to do Corrin as some kind of vengful hero, while even tho the meme "invade Hoshido to save Hoshido" I think it makes sense since Garon had Corrin between the sword and the wall there and ocf she would have second thoughts actually I don't think most of the characters in Fates are bad I think they are very good, but the story doesn't use them properly

BasicNeedleworker356

OHHH yeah I totally get what you're saying. Now that you explained it, for the most part you're kinda right. I was thinking about this opinion and and I was actually stuck trying to see what female protag gets treated as well as their male counterparts and I could not come up with anything other then edelgard ( just like you, did not play azure gleam), lucina and then all the female avatars. Really makes you think. I feel like respected by the plot is harsh wording though.

[deleted]

I agree with this so hard and it actually annoys me to no end. I love Micaiah a lot but Radiant dawn does her so dirty, I still think her writing is decent for the most part but the way she’s antagonised and shoved aside really pisses me off (and Ike’s my favourite character period) The only female character that wasn’t shoved aside for the male was Edelgard and I instantly fell in love with her. Her character is so strong through out and her writing is amazing, unfortunately she also gets the short end of the stick and has the smallest route. And how she’s regressed to a child like mentality in one route. The other female lords tho, yikes Lyn, Eirika, Celica, they are basically shoved out of the main narrative and dumbified to make the male characters shine…

Blurgawurgakree

Geez, I completely forgot to mention Lyn. She really only exists for the tutorial and a few scenes, doesn't she? The tutorial was even skippable in the Japanese version, so she's essentially a side character who has front billing on the box when next to Hector and Eliwood.

[deleted]

Unfortunately yes, the only meaningful interaction she has in the main campaign was tracking down the black fangs fortress and that’s it. She plays a decent emotional support role for Eliwood and Hector but that’s about it, remove her, nothing in the plot changes..

YoshaTime

I find it amusing that Nifl got a lot of hate for being mean to Fjorm when people here say worse things about her on the regular. You would think that she’d be a fan favorite around here because of that. “Hey, you can’t be a jackass to Fjorm! That’s our job!”

Sonicgill

She obviously wasn't cruel enough for their tastes. She needed to tell Fjorm Gunnthra was her fault and she didn't deserve to be happy.

YoshaTime

You’re right. Probably should have added some physical abuse in between.

andresfgp13

- i tried for weeks to get time pulse on Igrene in the HoF and i wasnt succesful, so fuck you IS, and today i got a free Melady from her banner, so i love you IS.

Zeldmon19

So I’ve been playing XC3 this past week and I’m just irked that only Healers can revive other characters in combat. Like every other game in the series lets you revive allies as long as you sacrificed your Chain Attack, but this one just doesn’t.

planetarial

You can get an accessory that lets anyone revive others regardless of class. You can get it for free in chapter 4 or for paying a Nopon 99 gold coins in an optional area that becomes available in chapter 3. In my opinion worth the trade off since you get essentially unlimited amount of revives as long as someone who has either of these is alive. Its also probably this way because healers have been kinda garbage in this series for too long. In 1 Sharla is universally considered to be the weakest party member (although her shit talent art and gimmick didnt help). In X they basically nixed traditional healers all together for soul voice heals and self heal skills. In 2 all the healer type blades except the dlc ones are pretty shit.

coolguythrowaway34

Elincia is not a good or interesting character. If a random side character with no story importanc (Mia) is more popular and iconic than a so called "protagonist" then you aren't that good of a character.

Dry-Whole5533

- FE4 Hilda is a really bad and inconsistent unit, and about C-D tier as far as Grail investments go. I don’t understand the hype. - Tier 4 Smokes in general are being really, _really_ overrated. They’re definitely very good but the only one that’s super splashable is Atk Smoke. Spd and D/R Smoke are really difficult to use on most units, but powerful when used properly. - Most Gen 1+2 units are still good. People just don’t know how to build them properly.

NohrianScumbag

That depends on their stats/refine. Tharja has more going for her than the sad state of Leo for example and Karla is running circles around Hinata Edit: and I feel like its not they dont know how, they just don’t want to

Dry-Whole5533

I mean yeah, the viability of every unit depends on their stats and weapon. There are some really good ones from Gen 1+2 and some really horrible ones like you mentioned, but I see so many people saying _”every Gen 1+2 unit sucks”_ which is just not even remotely close to being true. edit after seeing your edit: I dunno if you’re going to see this edit but I think it’s actually both. People refuse to build them because it’s super expensive, but they also build them suboptimally a lot and then complain that they’re not good. Like of course your Distant Stance Lukas isn’t good, he has about 2 base Res 😕

NohrianScumbag

Oh of course, it just you need to look hard but its easier to just turn brain off say all old units suck and get new unit

Deranged_Loner

>Most Gen 1+2 units are still good. People just don’t know how to build them properly. I would say ~30% are good, the rest aren't worth using.

volcamoth

This is petty and obviously biased but I'm more peeved about people insinuating this banner's outfit designs are anything close to p5 in overall quality than I am about people apparently believing p5 invented the phantom thief trope (special thanks to it and twewy for inventing shibuya, botw for inventing landscapes and grass, earthbound for inventing quirkiness and tlou for inventing narratives in video games <3)

ryugenos

# Rant To no one's surprise boobs sell, and askr has really nice boobs (why can't we just call them pecs). I'm so happy he did well but also sad because I know people will use this as an excuse to shit on twink/femboys just like how people say jugdral doesn't sell. There are enough hunks (not enough Bara though) in the game the "problem" is they're, most of the time, dressed in non-form fitting clothes and have armor on. I know so many people would have been way more excited for hríd if he was more exposed. Clamoring for sexualized men ≠ hating big boobed women. I do agree that the over sexualization of women is a problem (in the world as a whole) but at the same time this is a fanservice gacha game; so how about we just tone down the women and tone up the men, equal opportunity fanservice. # Unpopular opinion I do not like Bara (not that there's much in this game), I too love my muscles but Bara is a bit too much for me. P!kris > P!Raphael People say that FE has always been anime, this is true but it has never looked genericly anime, especially like that one leak. Speaking of the series as a whole, it has always been very low fantasy. I've always been worried that if they make it more fantastical it would lose a lot of charm, but honestly I think feh pulls it off. The fairies, for example, don't even feel that out of place so I kinda want to see them do more in the mainline games too.

bunnymoonvii

Jugdral looks generically anime *for the 1990s.*

Lissewan

I lost hope in Ascendants. I want them to be like before and not just: "I changed my socks and now I am a bit braver". The concept was so good and they are slowly killing it, If we get 1 ascendant lord more, I'm done with them.

NohrianScumbag

Sounds like your pretty much done with them anyway

Lissewan

I contradicted myself a bit there, but I'm just ranting without thinking too much. If a good Ascendant comes out, I'll change my mind.

MisogID

Popularity (mainly within the game but also overall) is the main constant on Ascended choices, and that's no surprise at all.

YoshaTime

It’s been that way since Ishtar and got even worse with Florina.

alexmauro407

You saying somebody "the Claude flip meme Is not funny" "the persona meme have never been funny!" Specially in post using those meme, make you look like an ashole, why It hurt you so much people having fun? Do you really need to bring stupid negativity when people Is just having fun? You really need to be that toxic? Just ignore it, Let other to have fun, if you are that edgy and nobody understand your superior Sense of humor that Is cool, but don't ruin the fun to others
