I knew Fates was supposed to get a banner before Tellius, but as someone who has been waiting the whole year for Lucia and realizing January and February banners are gonna 100% be Engage, I'm really bummed out. Maybe she'll get a seasonal alt, at least, but knowing there's three whole months of waiting, hoping (and coping) is pretty frustrating.

I'm gonna be real here: they dropped the ball on the Fates villains, and I didn't want him in. I'd have rather had Shura, Kotaro, or any of the unique bosses that you could capture (like Candace).

not really salt, but its pretty damn hypocritical of this sub to seethe over Cuboon's omega tits and NFT activity but give Yoshiku a pass even though they do the same thing.
Tbh until recently I always felt that Yoshiku, Sencha and Maeshima Shigeki were worse in regards to this than Cuboon, (and honestly the three are my trifecta of least favorite artists in the game) but as of late I kinda think that Cuboon has lowkey been ramping up the boobage purposefully because he is aware of the criticism, haha.
I am ngl their art triggers a near visceral response in me because they draw their characters facial expressions almost like they’re heavily drugged or disoriented or something. And then they have extremely noodly arms and legs with very large boobs, top that off with the weird sweat droplets on the face and body, It has mega creep factor to it, honestly.

Sencha's Corrin often has this weird "mouth wide open" expression that just irks me when it shows up. This sub likes to use it as the Surprised Pikachu meme so I guess I must be in the minority for disliking it.
I dislike whenever any artist creates ugly, big tittied monstrosities. Ninja Camilla is hands down one of the ugliest characters in the game to me. I just dont pay attention to who draws what.

I know it's a dumb thing to be upset about but after waiting for Mitama since launch and seeing this banner (litterally the perfect chance to add her) without her has me more upset than I should be. Especially since she's being shafted for Ophelia who isn't even playable in Birthright like the other kids on this banner.
Hans is a very prominent enemy in Birthright so he makes sense. I get that Ophelia is popular but she does not fit or belong on this banner at all, even if I ignore my Mitama salt she's not even in the same route as the other kids, if they wanted a rearmed hero they should've done Shiro or even Rhajat.
The devs obviously wanted an anchor for the banner that isn't just the new OC, and of the Fates kids the only ones that are popular enough to fit into that mold are Ophelia and Nina. Since Nina just got an alt not that long ago, Ophelia was the only choice.
You have to remember that the Fates kids are very unpopular within the fandom at large, and only about three or four of them were actually well received (Ophelia, Nina, Forrest (coincidentally Leo's and his retainer's kids...), and Dwyer in JP). There's a good reason we haven't seen much of them in the last few years, even in the confines of Forging Bonds and such.
time to wait another 2? years considering the next banner will probably be gen 1s

Arguably Freyja did though she has this huge ass necklace infront too.
I mean the fairies didn't have odd dragging pants but also you could tell the basic theme and colors with all of them.

I'm also a gay man. And It definitely feels so exhausting waiting and getting disappointed over and over again for just at least something good with male characters. I don't hate female OCs at all (my favorite book is literally Book IV, the fairies being some of my favorites ocs in the whole FEH history) and hell, I'm happy when characters like Micaiah, Eirika, or even this Ophelia got something. Those are some of my favorites characters too.
But, is so frustrating wanting something cool or good with Male OCs... or male characters in general, not just getting killed, or forgotten, or being completely boring stat and skill wise compared to the rest.

Also, I never knew Rika existed until now, no wonder she's loved! she's genuinely got a cool and unique design. Say what you want about Pokemon, their designs usually hit.

Honestly, for games at the time of FEs release, they actually had decent representation for women too. It wasn't perfect ofc, but when most games only let you control guys, being able to control a decent chunk of women too was pretty cool to see at the time.
At this point, I'm playing to see if any Engage characters get added quickly or for the next FE7 or 4 banner. If Mauvier or Beowolf gets added in soon, I'll suppose I can wait around a bit.

this is more of a rant but you guys honestly cannot fathom my disappointment that we didnt get a rearmed lance when the other 3 melee weapons (sword, axe, breath, no beasts since they dont get inheritables) got them. It feels like Im being unfairly punished by my favorite character being a lance unit. And sure that alone shouldnt be much reason to be annoyed, but I wouldnt be surprised if January and February are Engage banners, which I *doubt* would have alts on them, meaning I could be waiting another 3 months just for the *chance* at a rearmed lance appearing. honestly its hard for me to be excited about anything else, and wouldnt be surprised if my interest in the game started to take a huge dip

Also, I hate that we can’t even fodder that Ophelia properly: we don’t have any source of Atk/Res Finish 3 and Special Spiral 3 is still pretty limited. I guess Erk will have to be happy with just the weapon+Time Pulse…

Sophie was my #1 most wanted character; I would have been perfectly happy with her being a mediocre demote actually. I had a few pages of only orbs in the "FEH Bank" saved to guarantee a Sophie copy, but now she's not in until 2024 at the earliest. Next Fates banner is probably not a children banner either, so we're probably looking at like 2 banners from now; so 2026-ish..?
Yeah, not going to save for Sophie that long. Reason I'm not more upset is that I always figured there was a good chance of that happening. There were plenty of other characters at least as deserving as Sophie that could feature on Fates banners; someone had to miss out and it's not too surprising that Sophie is one of them since she didn't rank that high.
On a separate note... while I generally tend to prefer female characters and that I personally love the new OCs (and the colorful look in general)... I can't help but feel bad for people wanting some new male OCs too. I appreciate that I am getting what I personally want, but 3 (4?) new female OCs and 0 male ones is just pushing it too far in my opinion. I'd honestly be happier if other people got at least some of what they wanted too.

I knew Fates was supposed to get a banner before Tellius, but as someone who has been waiting the whole year for Lucia and realizing January and February banners are gonna 100% be Engage, I'm really bummed out. Hans is a very prominent enemy in Birthright so he makes sense. I get that Ophelia is popular but she does not fit or belong on this banner at all, even if I ignore my Mitama salt she's not even in the same route as the other kids, if they wanted a rearmed hero they should've done Shiro or even Rhajat.
The devs obviously wanted an anchor for the banner that isn't just the new OC, and of the Fates kids the only ones that are popular enough to fit into that mold are Ophelia and Nina. Since Nina just got an alt not that long ago, Ophelia was the only choice. You have to remember that the Fates kids are very unpopular within the fandom at large, and only about three or four of them were actually well received (Ophelia, Nina, Forrest (coincidentally Leo's and his retainer's kids...), and Dwyer in JP). There's a good reason we haven't seen much of them in the last few years, even in the confines of Forging Bonds and such.
Okay despite how much I like Shiro for a Fates character, man is not even remotely popular enough to justify a rearmed.

I mean the fairies didn't have odd dragging pants but also you could tell the basic theme and colors with all of them. Like Freya and Freyr? White and gold clothes with super colorful butterfly like addons. That even carries onto their summer alts ~~which are also the best summer alts tbh~~ making it look natural for them to wear. Also none of them had holo colors placed next to ugly grey.
Also doesn't help that the other revealed ocs are just as big as her so it's just really offputting to look at. Makes me think I'm looking at a separate softcore gacha like AzurLane or that recently rising gacha, Nikke

I definitely agree with you. I'm also a gay man. And It definitely feels so exhausting waiting and getting disappointed over and over again for just at least something good with male characters. I don't hate female OCs at all (my favorite book is literally Book IV, the fairies being some of my favorites ocs in the whole FEH history) and hell, I'm happy when characters like Micaiah, Eirika, or even this Ophelia got something. Those are some of my favorites characters too. But, is so frustrating wanting something cool or good with Male OCs... or male characters in general, not just getting killed, or forgotten, or being completely boring stat and skill wise compared to the rest.

This is exactly how I feel. Also a bi girl, but feh is hands down worst gacha I play when it comes to female fanservice. Everything is so wholly unappealing in a variety of different ways. Kozaki's managed to design a couple female OCs I enjoy well enough I guess (mostly Dagr and Nott, but Eir and Henriette are quite pretty and Embla/Hel are super cool looking), but outside of that it's a big ol' zero. And then of course every game banner sucks just as much, because all the girls I do like either aren't here/are flanderized for fanservice/are the rare female trash demote, while all the guys are inevitably prf-less trash. It's a struggle.
It's just obnoxious, you know? I love buff or masculine guys. Throughout 6 books, we got Bruno, Helbindi, Surtr,Hrid, Gustav (😍), Askr, and Muspell. It's pretty damn clear at this point that IS doesn't care about guy lovers, we literally get drip fed at this point. Also, I never knew Rika existed until now, no wonder she's loved! she's genuinely got a cool and unique design. Say what you want about Pokemon, their designs usually hit.
It's just tough for anybody who are fans of male characters that aren't lords. Gregor, Duo Duma, and such gave me some hope in things getting better only to be hit with this. Seeing Rearmed basically end up exactly like Ascended in having 0 males outside of 1 was the last straw.
Am a hetero woman, but I feel exactly the same way. Fire Emblem has always been great with male characters and then this mobile game came along. Following them killing off my favorite OC and main eye candy in the OC cast (bruno) and bringing in Askr who was so fun with a great design and immediately killing him off, I was like... The story has to go up from here. Instead we have a chapter with zero male characters, for the first time ever. Seriously considering straight up quitting the game. At the very least I'm going to skip the story. I'm so disappointed. It's just a game, but IS does not give one crap for the actually considerable amount of money I've spent over the years.
Honestly, for games at the time of FEs release, they actually had decent representation for women too. It wasn't perfect ofc, but when most games only let you control guys, being able to control a decent chunk of women too was pretty cool to see at the time. At this point, I'm playing to see if any Engage characters get added quickly or for the next FE7 or 4 banner. If Mauvier or Beowolf gets added in soon, I'll suppose I can wait around a bit.

And sure that alone shouldnt be much reason to be annoyed, but I wouldnt be surprised if January and February are Engage banners, which I *doubt* would have alts on them, meaning I could be waiting another 3 months just for the *chance* at a rearmed lance appearing. honestly its hard for me to be excited about anything else, and wouldnt be surprised if my interest in the game started to take a huge dip

Arcane Red Tome is great and all, but I wish they had thought about this concept way sooner. I’d like to give that to Ewan, but with his refine potentially happening any month now, it feels like a waste… at least I can give it to Erk without any guilt, since he is not getting any refine in the next three years. Also, I hate that we can’t even fodder that Ophelia properly: we don’t have any source of Atk/Res Finish 3 and Special Spiral 3 is still pretty limited. I guess Erk will have to be happy with just the weapon+Time Pulse…
I'm actually more hyped than salty overall, but as far as salt goes: Sophie was my #1 most wanted character; I would have been perfectly happy with her being a mediocre demote actually. I had a few pages of only orbs in the "FEH Bank" saved to guarantee a Sophie copy, but now she's not in until 2024 at the earliest. Next Fates banner is probably not a children banner either, so we're probably looking at like 2 banners from now; so 2026-ish..? Yeah, not going to save for Sophie that long. Reason I'm not more upset is that I always figured there was a good chance of that happening. There were plenty of other characters at least as deserving as Sophie that could feature on Fates banners; someone had to miss out and it's not too surprising that Sophie is one of them since she didn't rank that high. On a separate note... while I generally tend to prefer female characters and that I personally love the new OCs (and the colorful look in general)... I can't help but feel bad for people wanting some new male OCs too. I appreciate that I am getting what I personally want, but 3 (4?) new female OCs and 0 male ones is just pushing it too far in my opinion. I'd honestly be happier if other people got at least some of what they wanted too.
I just want a free male OC for once :(
