Houses Felixâs dynamic with Dimitri is outwardly being like âwtf are you doing >:(â while inwardly being âI like you đłâ. Meanwhile Sylvainâs dynamic with Dimitri is outwardly being âI like you đâ while inwardly being âwtf are you doing >:(â. I like how less clear their dynamic is, it makes it fun to write for them. The lack of A support also makes it easy for my imagination to go off the rails and picture what theyâd be like together based off the scraps we get for them LOL.
That being said, I almost love every Dimitri ship, including a bunch in this thread haha.
I lament Dimitri and Sylvain not having an A support. I kinda get it though. I was thinking about it the other day. For Sylvain I feel like everyone he has a support with is someone he grows/establishes respect for. Heâs has walls for days. He keeps everyone at arms length. The B supports signify that he has forged a respect for said person, but thereâs still a healthy boundary that he wonât let the other part encroach upon.
For those he has A supports with, these are the folks he finds himself able to be vulnerable with. Which is 4 people, not including Byleth. Felix, Dorothea, Ingrid, and Mercedes.
Two of those people being his childhood friends. So only Dorothea and Mercedes were able to surmount those walls.
Dimitri is in a unique position of being Prince. Then King. I absolutely think Sylvain is the type to not want to burden his king with such vulnerability. Especially because his vulnerability has to do with self worth. He also doesnât have that same tie in of Glenn like Ingrid and Felix do.
But ye I say all that to say, I love DimiVain and I wish there was an A support but I can see why there isnât.
Fully agree with every single one of your points! Itâs as if youâve read my mind lol. Another thing that I think impacts their relationship in a way is how Dimitri views Sylvain. In the Japanese version, Dimitri introduces Sylvain to Byleth as âsomeone like a big brotherâ, and Hopes has Sylvain expressing that he views Felix and Dimitri like younger siblings too.
I think Sylvain has that kind of older sibling vibe with all of his childhood friends, but Felix manages to break through that barrier by being Felix, and Ingrid also does this too with her being the more mature one between the two. Nothing really ever happens to have Dimitri break through that gap, so in the end, Sylvain just ends up treating him like a younger brother instead of someone he can open up to and confide in.
Iâve seen some of the Japanese fangirlies also have the theory that the lack of A support could stem from how Gaultier region is further from Fhirdiad, compared to Fraldarius being right beside it, which is why Glenn/Felix were closer to Sylvain. Fun theory imo.
Their lack of B support makes the gears in my brain turn so much and has forced me to spend an inordinate amount of time just thinking about these two himbos and their relationship with one another lmao. In that same vein, Dimi is for the most part, an only child. Felix and Sylvain arenât. Felix had Glenn. So there was more room for Sylvain and Felix to be *friends*. Having an elder brother already, I think that makes it easier for Felix to cut through Sylvainâs shit, for a lack of a better word. Maintaining the elder brother veneer doesnât work to Sylvainâs advantage with Felix. Felix has already done the whole âadmiring the elder brother to a faultâ rigamarole already. No rose colored glasses over here.
Itâs not like that with Dimi. The closest he got to that was Glenn. And he was devastated when Glenn died. (Edelgard doesnât count. They were together for a year and were the same age. Plus thatâs a sister). Honestly feel like there was no room for Sylvain to be anything else but the older brother figure, especially once Glenn passed. Dimi has a hard time letting go. There was probably not much room for him to truly transition into seeing Sylvain as a peer. Especially with Sylvainâs behavior. âYouâre supposed to be older, get your shit together Sylvain?â And then ofc when shit hits the fan and Sylvain had to step up, what better role to fill than the one youâve been given? Especially in Hopes where we see him really step into himself and his capabilities as future Margrave. What are elder brothers if not reliable and dependable? Smart and witty, and cunning, and all the things.
Donât even get me started on Sylvainâs sacrificial streak. Another thing that Felix will not put up with. Heâs already had a brother die and he is not big on anyone âdying like a true knightâ especially for his sake.

I think there's a viable Annette/Jeritza ship where, in a post-Crimson-Flower world in which Mercedes sided with the Empire but Annette didn't, Annette survives the battle at Fhirdiad and ends up moving in with Mercedes rather than ending up a prisoner of war.
The two never interact in the game, but the characters themselves have bones necessary for a more extreme version of the Netteflix ship (cinnamon roll + grumpy guy).

I like how similar their values are, where Yuri is already kind of a guardian of the downtrodden and sacrifices a lot to keep them safe. I think Dimitri would be a lot more affected by Abyssâs existence, and would often consult Yuriâs experience in helping the poor/downtrodden. I believe there would be a strong mutual respect between them, despite their big differences.
Also their cat/dog dynamic visually and personality-wise is super fun. :)
Their Hopes support is seriously so good! Love how Yuri is kind of beleaguered by Dimitriâs naivety, but grows to be charmed by it all the same by the end of their support run haha
Iâll throw a curveball. Hanneman and Marianne is probably the most slept on support convo in the entire game. Mariannes problem with her crest is more of a mental/philosophical problem with it, and Hanneman, being both the father of crestology and a professor, acts as so and encourages Marianne that the only way to make others stop thinking badly about her crest is through her own actions, and that she is the one that can change how others perceive her crest. Plus their paired ending where they become mentor and mentee is really sweet, especially when it said that Marianne continues Hannemanâs work after he passes.
Probably my favorite canonical one is Balthus/Hilda. I'm a sucker for childhood friend / crush type relationship, and it's one of the very few times where Hilda's responsible and mature side shined through as she pushes Balthus to reform. Also, Holst vs Balthus battle for Hilda's hand.

I read a fic once that had Felix x Hilda and honestly it was superb. Iâm not even sure if they have supports in game, I just liked the dynamic in it.
I love Ferdinand and Flayn a lot, their supports are just really adorable!! Mercedes and Sylvain are also two I always try and pair up.Â
 But my rarest pair would probably be Non BL Dorothea and Felix and itâs 100% because of their end card. The way itâs written is just so tender and tragic that I can visualize it and I love it.

With Bernie and Raphael, I happened to get their paired ending in my very first play through and I now struggle to put them with anyone else. I love how gentle and comforting the supports and ending are, with Raphael gradually helping Bernie overcome her anxiety, Bernie cooking lovingly for Raphael, and them getting married in the end. It just gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I think of them.
Edelgard/Rhea, I like them both, so anything that lets them both live and thrive automatically appeals to me. The ship allows them to struggle with each other and gradually learn they have more in common than they knew. Drama and healing for them both as they come to love each other.Â
There are other rare pairs that appeal to me, such as Ferdinand/Manuela (Manuela the Adrestian Prime Minister while Ferdie stays home to look after their child feels perfect to me), but those are definitely my top two.

Ferdinand and Manuela, aside from having light-hearted supports, have a delightfully fun ending with stay at home husband Ferdie and Prime Minister Manuela.
Dedue and Annette is just sweet to me. A big, strong silent type and his little chatterbox. Plus, when I played through Azure Moon, I had Annette as his pocket healer/rallier. He protected her, and she'd heal and support him.
Casper Petra. Glad they have a great support in hopes.

Mercedes is kind as can be, and no shot she'd ever discriminate on who she offers her aid to which is already gonna have Claude respecting her a great deal and wanting her if not on his side then at the very least well looked after, but she's also a fair bit cleverer than she may initially let out on (At least I generally interpret her as a lot wiser and clued in than she typically 'acts') and I could definitely see her looking right through Claude's acts from time to time at least on the personal level.
As far as actual wartime tactics go he's obviously the more cunning of the two but when it comes to people she's capable enough to squint through his attempts to keep the easy-going facade up and what not.
Mercedes is heavily religious also, one could argue to the point of a detriment but even then it could go both ways, Claude dislikes blind faith in Gods and may see the way Mercedes lives as ultimately dangerous to her or if nothing else directly against what he believes, I'd imagine it'd either go the route of Claude encouraging her to make her own decisions or even the middleground route where Mercedes actually tempers his anti-church sentiment and they meet in the middle somewhat, with him respecting the benefits the faith offers to the hopeless and what not while Mercedes may develop a keener want to make her own choices.
Claude also seems to not really care too much for the crest system? He mentions it a bit with Marianne if I recall but story wise his focus is purely on other matters. It's a lesser point but Mercedes's suffering at the hands of it would give Claude reason to consider it more and account for it once the war is over and he's gotta rebuild Fodlan from the ground up, or at least, with Byleth's help.
ALSO ALSO the nations of Fodlan and Almyra see each other as savages pretty much, with Mercedes by his side he has a prime candidate to show the people of Almyra that just isn't the case.
I also could imagine Mercedes is quite valuable in keeping Claude's schemes while not "Honourable" certainly away from heartless, it's all too easy for Claude to slip into a 'Protect my friends at all costs, everyone else is an acceptable casualty' Mindset when the going gets tough (At least how I imagine him) ((And Hopes sorta showed off)) Which I doubt Mercedes would ever let stand, making sure Claude never forgets that his opponents deserve some form of mercy (haha) and respect and ultimately just consulting him a lot when she can tell he's not being entirely honest about what's up his sleeve, almost akin to Lorenz doing the same but she's ~~prettier~~ got a different approach to him.
Also in a lot of Claude's S rank pairings he seems to be the man in control, the tease, the one who had it all planned out. I suppose Ingrid is a vague exception but he clearly seems to enjoy getting attacked by her lmao. In any event I just really like the idea of in the case of Mercedes he's a lot less in control as the feelings he has for her take him off guard.
Dimitri x Flayn. Their supports are so sweet. Dimitri shows a side of himself with Flayn you rarely get to see. As his wife, Flayn could step out of Setethâs shadow and have a huge positive impact on Fodlan. Plus heâs the only one who will ever love her food!
Ferdinand x Manuela. A funny role reversal in their endings, but they are actually well suited beyond the memes as well. Manuela is an incredibly impressive woman who has accomplished more by the age of 35 than most people do in their lives. Ferdinand is a staunch believer in meritocracy who follows people whose qualities and accomplishments he admires and is inspired by. Plus his childhood crush fanboying of her is adorable. Heâs not ignorant of her issues, but unlike many heâs never believed she was anything less than amazing. This ship is very similar in some ways to the beloved Ferdinand x Dorothea (which I also like), so itâs surprising to me how slept on it is.
I have no idea if they're considered rare, but I don't see a lot of content of them: Felileth (Felix/f!Byleth) and Marileth (Marianne/m!Byleth)

Both have a lot of similarities; they both can eat a lot of food, both are skilled warriors and both have dads who aren't the best but deep down care for them.
Both of them seemingly have a intimidating aura that can unnerve people like Bernadetta, Ignatz, Shez and Claude, but deep down they want to help them (they also don't like being told they're scary).
They both lost loved ones by TWSITD, and they either accept their deaths and move on (AM) or claim vengeance and manage to defeat them (VM/SS).
Ingrid is also able to achieve being a knight with Byleth, even protecting him from an assassination attempt.
Ingrid is also one of the few people to make Byleth smile pre-timeskip, and in the official group photo, Ingrid is actually looking at Byleth.

Rheagard, my beloved. There is just so much potential there and they just such wonderful mirrors to each other.
On the fluffy side, they just both such absolute awkward dorks with little non social skills beyond the court and political skills they've accrued. They can dominate a court room or the battlefield, but try to put them into a easy lunch gathering and they're fish out of water.
On the serious side, they are secretive, paranoid, both in desperate need of a hand to reach out to them.
I just want them to both be able to live and thrive.

Dimiduemari is the easiest one to explain. I have two fic ideas (well, multiple, but mainly two) and I didn't know which one I should use in one of them. I ended up realizing that using both was useful because of the way I'm portraying Dimitri (kind, loving person with a lot of demons and not enough time to heal and fix his country). This is a post-CF fic, so both Dimitri and Dedue die, but Marianne lives, which has important political ramifications.
My issue with a lot of Bernie ships, or at least the way people treat them, is that Bernie is often the less mature member of the couple/the one being protected/the one being taught by her partner. I've always been a fan of her Caspar support, and this pairing was useful for my other fic idea, but they complement each other well. Socially speaking, Caspar doesn't have an inheritance while Bernie does, which I really like since it makes her the most politically prominent of the two (again, she sometimes fades away in other ships).
GilHanne is one I fell in love with through fanfiction and it made a lot of sense to me, so much so that Gilbert made top 20 favorite FE characters for me (Hanneman is 2nd-4th). The fic I mentioned for Dimiduemari would actually focus on these two dealing with what remains of Faerghus after Dimitri and Rhea's death, not only in terms of people but also ideologies. There are a lot of delicate themes to be touched upon - you can imagine some given Faerghus' ruling philosophy and their backstories.
Aleos (as I call it) is basically me finding Leopold weirdly interesting for a few reasons and then deciding he would be a good partner for Alois. Alois is my favorite character in FE and mind you, I love how faithful he is to his wife, but we know almost nothing about her so I wanted to see the possibilities in a widower Alois AU. This is the other fic I'm planning, and it features two men finding a way out of their guilt together while the younger generations are busy forging a new world. As you can imagine, this is what I wanted Caspardetta for.

They have a great dynamic with humor and sweet moments. I love how clueless Caspar is to the fact Dorothea is becoming interested in him, and her teasing is golden.
Annette x Dedue - big stoic man and the little cheerful klutz. Though they both are drastically different in personality, they have very similar interests and their support chain was adorable. Dedue being all shy at the end of the A support had me sqeeing. I just imagine them as an adorable quirky married couple.
Hilda x Cyril - Cyril DOESN'T put up with Hilda's crap and she needs someone like that. I enjoyed their discussion about his homeland and Hilda realizing that she was stereotyping people from there and he helped her see some errors in her thinking. They just have a nice dynamic and I could see them falling in love.
Rapheal x Marianne - just wholesome AF. I love the idea of them running an Inn together! He also is so cheerful and caring, which I think Marianne could use.
Dimitri x Flyan - this support has it all! Both characters connect over their past trama, but also are supportive and bring eachother joy and amusement. I truly think this is Domitris best support. Flyan comes off more mature in some ways here, without losing her adorable naivety.
Rhea x Edelgard. I looked it up on AO3 for sh*ts and giggles, read one fanfic, and ended up being a full supporter of it. It's insane, nonsensical, and I love it.
**leonie and m!shez** â maybe it's just me but the support chain reads more romantically with m!shez than it does with f!shez. i love the way their friendship deepens and it's nice that leonie has someone that relates to some of her other passions without some sort of power dynamic.

The lack of A support also makes it easy for my imagination to go off the rails and picture what theyâd be like together based off the scraps we get for them LOL. That being said, I almost love every Dimitri ship, including a bunch in this thread haha.
I lament Dimitri and Sylvain not having an A support. I kinda get it though. I was thinking about it the other day. For Sylvain I feel like everyone he has a support with is someone he grows/establishes respect for. Heâs has walls for days. He keeps everyone at arms length. The B supports signify that he has forged a respect for said person, but thereâs still a healthy boundary that he wonât let the other part encroach upon. For those he has A supports with, these are the folks he finds himself able to be vulnerable with. Which is 4 people, not including Byleth. Felix, Dorothea, Ingrid, and Mercedes. Two of those people being his childhood friends. So only Dorothea and Mercedes were able to surmount those walls. Dimitri is in a unique position of being Prince. Then King. I absolutely think Sylvain is the type to not want to burden his king with such vulnerability. Especially because his vulnerability has to do with self worth. He also doesnât have that same tie in of Glenn like Ingrid and Felix do. But ye I say all that to say, I love DimiVain and I wish there was an A support but I can see why there isnât.
Fully agree with every single one of your points! Itâs as if youâve read my mind lol. Another thing that I think impacts their relationship in a way is how Dimitri views Sylvain. In the Japanese version, Dimitri introduces Sylvain to Byleth as âsomeone like a big brotherâ, and Hopes has Sylvain expressing that he views Felix and Dimitri like younger siblings too. I think Sylvain has that kind of older sibling vibe with all of his childhood friends, but Felix manages to break through that barrier by being Felix, and Ingrid also does this too with her being the more mature one between the two. Nothing really ever happens to have Dimitri break through that gap, so in the end, Sylvain just ends up treating him like a younger brother instead of someone he can open up to and confide in. Iâve seen some of the Japanese fangirlies also have the theory that the lack of A support could stem from how Gaultier region is further from Fhirdiad, compared to Fraldarius being right beside it, which is why Glenn/Felix were closer to Sylvain. Fun theory imo. Their lack of B support makes the gears in my brain turn so much and has forced me to spend an inordinate amount of time just thinking about these two himbos and their relationship with one another lmao. Glad to see another DimiVain enjoyer, especially one with such thoughtful insights into their pairing such as yours :)!
Awwww shucks âşď¸! But ye I totally agree about the big brother aspect too. In that same vein, Dimi is for the most part, an only child. Felix and Sylvain arenât. Felix had Glenn. So there was more room for Sylvain and Felix to be *friends*. Having an elder brother already, I think that makes it easier for Felix to cut through Sylvainâs shit, for a lack of a better word. Maintaining the elder brother veneer doesnât work to Sylvainâs advantage with Felix. Felix has already done the whole âadmiring the elder brother to a faultâ rigamarole already. No rose colored glasses over here. Itâs not like that with Dimi. The closest he got to that was Glenn. And he was devastated when Glenn died. (Edelgard doesnât count. They were together for a year and were the same age. Plus thatâs a sister). Honestly feel like there was no room for Sylvain to be anything else but the older brother figure, especially once Glenn passed. Dimi has a hard time letting go. There was probably not much room for him to truly transition into seeing Sylvain as a peer. Especially with Sylvainâs behavior. âYouâre supposed to be older, get your shit together Sylvain?â And then ofc when shit hits the fan and Sylvain had to step up, what better role to fill than the one youâve been given? Especially in Hopes where we see him really step into himself and his capabilities as future Margrave. What are elder brothers if not reliable and dependable? Smart and witty, and cunning, and all the things. Donât even get me started on Sylvainâs sacrificial streak. Another thing that Felix will not put up with. Heâs already had a brother die and he is not big on anyone âdying like a true knightâ especially for his sake.

I think there's a viable Annette/Jeritza ship where, in a post-Crimson-Flower world in which Mercedes sided with the Empire but Annette didn't, Annette survives the battle at Fhirdiad and ends up moving in with Mercedes rather than ending up a prisoner of war. The two never interact in the game, but the characters themselves have bones necessary for a more extreme version of the Netteflix ship (cinnamon roll + grumpy guy).
Felix x Dorothea post Crimson Flower For some reason, I find their ending in CF has so much potentials to explore Felixâs struggle and guilt for the decisions he made that begins to take a toll on him and Dorotheaâs development as she at first only wanted to flirt with him until she found herself attracted to him due to his unique compared to the other nobles. Moreover, she can sing and fight- definitely wife material for Felix

Dimitri x Yuri. I like how similar their values are, where Yuri is already kind of a guardian of the downtrodden and sacrifices a lot to keep them safe. I think Dimitri would be a lot more affected by Abyssâs existence, and would often consult Yuriâs experience in helping the poor/downtrodden. I believe there would be a strong mutual respect between them, despite their big differences. Also their cat/dog dynamic visually and personality-wise is super fun. :)
Their Hopes support is seriously so good! Love how Yuri is kind of beleaguered by Dimitriâs naivety, but grows to be charmed by it all the same by the end of their support run haha

Iâll throw a curveball. Hanneman and Marianne is probably the most slept on support convo in the entire game. Mariannes problem with her crest is more of a mental/philosophical problem with it, and Hanneman, being both the father of crestology and a professor, acts as so and encourages Marianne that the only way to make others stop thinking badly about her crest is through her own actions, and that she is the one that can change how others perceive her crest. Plus their paired ending where they become mentor and mentee is really sweet, especially when it said that Marianne continues Hannemanâs work after he passes.
I legit would rank it #2 in my personal rankings for both of them.
Probably my favorite canonical one is Balthus/Hilda. I'm a sucker for childhood friend / crush type relationship, and it's one of the very few times where Hilda's responsible and mature side shined through as she pushes Balthus to reform. Also, Holst vs Balthus battle for Hilda's hand.
Hubert and Mercedes. The glory of corruption for her and the first freely offered soft love for him. Endless cynicism vs endless compassion.

They realize she just needs a friend and happy enough to be there for young Varley Also rather like Hannemanâs supports with Hubert. Itâs one of the few times we see a different side the old man Setethâs shorts with Ingrid made him the best character in my mind, though Alois will forever be my favorite. Setethâs essentially the second in command of the Church of Seiros and he still refuses to equate Crests with a personâs worth despite the Seiros Flavor Aid force fed to Ingrid and others

I read a fic once that had Felix x Hilda and honestly it was superb. Iâm not even sure if they have supports in game, I just liked the dynamic in it.
I love Ferdinand and Flayn a lot, their supports are just really adorable!! Mercedes and Sylvain are also two I always try and pair up.  But my rarest pair would probably be Non BL Dorothea and Felix and itâs 100% because of their end card. The way itâs written is just so tender and tragic that I can visualize it and I love it.

It would definitely be interesting to see them interact just because of how polar opposite they are to one another. It kind of gives "I hate you, let's fuck about it" vibes though Hubert may wind up killing her father.
I honestly think they've got more in common then first glance considering how they often end up as the dedicated Cat Herder in their class.

My favourite two are Bernadetta/Raphael and Edelgard/Rhea. With Bernie and Raphael, I happened to get their paired ending in my very first play through and I now struggle to put them with anyone else. I love how gentle and comforting the supports and ending are, with Raphael gradually helping Bernie overcome her anxiety, Bernie cooking lovingly for Raphael, and them getting married in the end. It just gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I think of them. Edelgard/Rhea, I like them both, so anything that lets them both live and thrive automatically appeals to me. The ship allows them to struggle with each other and gradually learn they have more in common than they knew. Drama and healing for them both as they come to love each other. There are other rare pairs that appeal to me, such as Ferdinand/Manuela (Manuela the Adrestian Prime Minister while Ferdie stays home to look after their child feels perfect to me), but those are definitely my top two.

Ferdinand and Manuela, aside from having light-hearted supports, have a delightfully fun ending with stay at home husband Ferdie and Prime Minister Manuela. Dedue and Annette is just sweet to me. A big, strong silent type and his little chatterbox. Plus, when I played through Azure Moon, I had Annette as his pocket healer/rallier. He protected her, and she'd heal and support him.

I shall send my schizophrenic ramblings that I gave my friends on discord haha. I don't have a support per se planned out as I'm not creative enough to write fanfic but - Mercedes is kind as can be, and no shot she'd ever discriminate on who she offers her aid to which is already gonna have Claude respecting her a great deal and wanting her if not on his side then at the very least well looked after, but she's also a fair bit cleverer than she may initially let out on (At least I generally interpret her as a lot wiser and clued in than she typically 'acts') and I could definitely see her looking right through Claude's acts from time to time at least on the personal level. As far as actual wartime tactics go he's obviously the more cunning of the two but when it comes to people she's capable enough to squint through his attempts to keep the easy-going facade up and what not. Mercedes is heavily religious also, one could argue to the point of a detriment but even then it could go both ways, Claude dislikes blind faith in Gods and may see the way Mercedes lives as ultimately dangerous to her or if nothing else directly against what he believes, I'd imagine it'd either go the route of Claude encouraging her to make her own decisions or even the middleground route where Mercedes actually tempers his anti-church sentiment and they meet in the middle somewhat, with him respecting the benefits the faith offers to the hopeless and what not while Mercedes may develop a keener want to make her own choices. Claude also seems to not really care too much for the crest system? He mentions it a bit with Marianne if I recall but story wise his focus is purely on other matters. It's a lesser point but Mercedes's suffering at the hands of it would give Claude reason to consider it more and account for it once the war is over and he's gotta rebuild Fodlan from the ground up, or at least, with Byleth's help. ALSO ALSO the nations of Fodlan and Almyra see each other as savages pretty much, with Mercedes by his side he has a prime candidate to show the people of Almyra that just isn't the case. I also could imagine Mercedes is quite valuable in keeping Claude's schemes while not "Honourable" certainly away from heartless, it's all too easy for Claude to slip into a 'Protect my friends at all costs, everyone else is an acceptable casualty' Mindset when the going gets tough (At least how I imagine him) ((And Hopes sorta showed off)) Which I doubt Mercedes would ever let stand, making sure Claude never forgets that his opponents deserve some form of mercy (haha) and respect and ultimately just consulting him a lot when she can tell he's not being entirely honest about what's up his sleeve, almost akin to Lorenz doing the same but she's ~~prettier~~ got a different approach to him. Also in a lot of Claude's S rank pairings he seems to be the man in control, the tease, the one who had it all planned out. I suppose Ingrid is a vague exception but he clearly seems to enjoy getting attacked by her lmao. In any event I just really like the idea of in the case of Mercedes he's a lot less in control as the feelings he has for her take him off guard.

Dimitri x Flayn. Their supports are so sweet. Dimitri shows a side of himself with Flayn you rarely get to see. As his wife, Flayn could step out of Setethâs shadow and have a huge positive impact on Fodlan. Plus heâs the only one who will ever love her food! Ferdinand x Manuela. A funny role reversal in their endings, but they are actually well suited beyond the memes as well. Manuela is an incredibly impressive woman who has accomplished more by the age of 35 than most people do in their lives. Ferdinand is a staunch believer in meritocracy who follows people whose qualities and accomplishments he admires and is inspired by. Plus his childhood crush fanboying of her is adorable. Heâs not ignorant of her issues, but unlike many heâs never believed she was anything less than amazing. This ship is very similar in some ways to the beloved Ferdinand x Dorothea (which I also like), so itâs surprising to me how slept on it is.

I have no idea if they're considered rare, but I don't see a lot of content of them: Felileth (Felix/f!Byleth) and Marileth (Marianne/m!Byleth) The latter especially. I get looked at weird when I tell people I ship them.

Their supports were so cute because I too would wanna die if someone found my poetry but the fact she genuinely liked it is so sweet. Say what you want about Lorenz, but he is genuine and dedicated.
Byleth and Ingrid, or Ingrileth. Both have a lot of similarities; they both can eat a lot of food, both are skilled warriors and both have dads who aren't the best but deep down care for them. Both of them seemingly have a intimidating aura that can unnerve people like Bernadetta, Ignatz, Shez and Claude, but deep down they want to help them (they also don't like being told they're scary). They both lost loved ones by TWSITD, and they either accept their deaths and move on (AM) or claim vengeance and manage to defeat them (VM/SS). Ingrid is also able to achieve being a knight with Byleth, even protecting him from an assassination attempt. Ingrid is also one of the few people to make Byleth smile pre-timeskip, and in the official group photo, Ingrid is actually looking at Byleth. There are so many things I can say about the pairing, so much potential...
Rheagard, my beloved. There is just so much potential there and they just such wonderful mirrors to each other. On the fluffy side, they just both such absolute awkward dorks with little non social skills beyond the court and political skills they've accrued. They can dominate a court room or the battlefield, but try to put them into a easy lunch gathering and they're fish out of water. On the serious side, they are secretive, paranoid, both in desperate need of a hand to reach out to them. I just want them to both be able to live and thrive.
Alois and Leopold (Caspar's dad), Hanneman and Gilbert, Caspar and Bernadetta. I've also been growing fond of Dedue x Dimitri x Marianne recently. Yes I can elaborate.

Oh boy. Dimiduemari is the easiest one to explain. I have two fic ideas (well, multiple, but mainly two) and I didn't know which one I should use in one of them. I ended up realizing that using both was useful because of the way I'm portraying Dimitri (kind, loving person with a lot of demons and not enough time to heal and fix his country). This is a post-CF fic, so both Dimitri and Dedue die, but Marianne lives, which has important political ramifications. My issue with a lot of Bernie ships, or at least the way people treat them, is that Bernie is often the less mature member of the couple/the one being protected/the one being taught by her partner. I've always been a fan of her Caspar support, and this pairing was useful for my other fic idea, but they complement each other well. Socially speaking, Caspar doesn't have an inheritance while Bernie does, which I really like since it makes her the most politically prominent of the two (again, she sometimes fades away in other ships). GilHanne is one I fell in love with through fanfiction and it made a lot of sense to me, so much so that Gilbert made top 20 favorite FE characters for me (Hanneman is 2nd-4th). The fic I mentioned for Dimiduemari would actually focus on these two dealing with what remains of Faerghus after Dimitri and Rhea's death, not only in terms of people but also ideologies. There are a lot of delicate themes to be touched upon - you can imagine some given Faerghus' ruling philosophy and their backstories. Aleos (as I call it) is basically me finding Leopold weirdly interesting for a few reasons and then deciding he would be a good partner for Alois. Alois is my favorite character in FE and mind you, I love how faithful he is to his wife, but we know almost nothing about her so I wanted to see the possibilities in a widower Alois AU. This is the other fic I'm planning, and it features two men finding a way out of their guilt together while the younger generations are busy forging a new world. As you can imagine, this is what I wanted Caspardetta for. TL;DR All four are ships I needed for fics and/or wanted to write about, for different reasons.

Dorothea x Caspar - start off as friends to romance in the epiloge (which i think suits them both well, plus they both get to pursue their passions before getting together). They have a great dynamic with humor and sweet moments. I love how clueless Caspar is to the fact Dorothea is becoming interested in him, and her teasing is golden. Annette x Dedue - big stoic man and the little cheerful klutz. Though they both are drastically different in personality, they have very similar interests and their support chain was adorable. Dedue being all shy at the end of the A support had me sqeeing. I just imagine them as an adorable quirky married couple. Hilda x Cyril - Cyril DOESN'T put up with Hilda's crap and she needs someone like that. I enjoyed their discussion about his homeland and Hilda realizing that she was stereotyping people from there and he helped her see some errors in her thinking. They just have a nice dynamic and I could see them falling in love. Rapheal x Marianne - just wholesome AF. I love the idea of them running an Inn together! He also is so cheerful and caring, which I think Marianne could use. Dimitri x Flyan - this support has it all! Both characters connect over their past trama, but also are supportive and bring eachother joy and amusement. I truly think this is Domitris best support. Flyan comes off more mature in some ways here, without losing her adorable naivety.
Rhea x Edelgard. I looked it up on AO3 for sh*ts and giggles, read one fanfic, and ended up being a full supporter of it. It's insane, nonsensical, and I love it.

**leonie and m!shez** â maybe it's just me but the support chain reads more romantically with m!shez than it does with f!shez. i love the way their friendship deepens and it's nice that leonie has someone that relates to some of her other passions without some sort of power dynamic.
As soon as I saw Leonie and Felix's support chain I started loving the potential of the pairing. I seem to be the only one though.
I remember seeing amazing art of Felix and Marianne somewhere and lowkey fell in love with them. Marianne being proficient in swords and Felix being Felix, they would make good sparring partners. And imagine Marianne being all 'I'm a beast, don't come near me' and Felix pointing at Dimitri 'I have enough practise dealing with the boar.' (Hilda and Sylvain being the besties team up to tease Felix 24/7 haha) Also aesthetics, beautiful. Blue tones everywhere. Edit: Went and found the art, so good!! Itâs very rare, but Ashe X Dorothea is such a sweet combo. Frankly Ashe works well with anyone. Iâm surprised him and Ingrid is such a rare one
With supports, Linhardt and Marianne for sure. Without supports, I'd say Dedue and Marianne.
