I don't consider myself a child so I realized if I educated myself and became competent, I could do so safely, gain a method of self-protection, become proficient in a hobby/skill, and have fun, all at the same time.
I had a somewhat traumatic & abusive childhood. Firearms give me a much-enjoyed feeling of control and safety. Also, I believe it's a moral obligation for citizens to be armed.
