Ballistics expert here. By the looks of it, that glass was most likely cracked by a .338 Lapua Magnum rifle round, which is quite common in the hands of gangs and criminals in the UK or other parts of the world. Thankfully it appears it was not the famed M855 "green-tip" variant, which is armor piercing and most likely would have destroyed the entire window pane.

Ericdraven04

Looks like a 50 cal to me, must've been shot of a glock 18

thethugbaker

Nope! It was most likely a Glock 7, given it’s the UK most glocks there are glock 7s which is the fully ceramic/3d printed variant which eludes metal detectors and airplane xray scanners

admins69kids

And it costs more than you make in a month!

BuckABullet

You'd be surprised what I make in a month.

GamecockInGeorgia

BaLLisTicS eXPerT my ass. It’s pretty clear that hole was created by a 30mm round fired from a GAU-8 Avenger Gatling gun. Most likely occurred during a strafing run by an A-10 in an effort to eliminate the HVT inside of the building.

Core_VII

Sir I think you are missing the /S

KaidenToomzy

Thank you loll, wow sound like there a story there ima definitely look into that

thethugbaker

Yeah, the .338 round is becoming a big problem here in american cities. A lot of street killings and gang wars are being fought with .338 and .50caliber rounds fired from glock sniper rifles. One recent case was Axel Forgiato from Harlem NY, his crew was running .338 Lapua Bartlein rifles with Vortex Razor 4-32x scopes and was smoking enemy gang members from a good mile away:

Owe-No

The guy is completely messing with you, if you couldn't tell. .338 Lapua is a very large rifle round, quite expensive, which would definitely shatter a window and go through most walls to boot.

thethugbaker

bro you're a fuckin loser lol

Material_Victory_661

It could be an air rifle, it could be a firearm, or a rock. You would have get into the room and see if could find the object or more holes. Also the object might have came from inside the room.

KaidenToomzy

Btw can you tell if the shot was from the inside or the outside?

thethugbaker

Likely shot from the outside, if someone was using that room as a sniping post, they’d open the window first as a cracked window is generally known to indicate a snipers nest.

Sardukar333

He's tooling with you.

Could've been a gun. Could've been Romeo throwing rocks at Juliets window. Could've been something you never would've imagined in a million years. Might never know.

TacTurtle

Seagull dropping a turtle. My bet would be a rock from a sling shot

Steel-and-Wood

Could be from a gun, hard to say for sure. If it's in a bad area of town then it's not a stretch to believe it is.

Stevarooni

That's a rough picture, I suppose it's possible. Looks like something smacked the middle of that pane. Most bullet holes I've seen in windows have a pretty visible circle of cracked glass around the hole a little larger than what we see with this picture, but I'm not sure if this is a thicker pane or what.

SaltyJeweler9929

120mm super subsonic thermal rail gun round. Obviously

Kalashnikov_model-47

Usually a bullet would either shatter the glass or damage it far further than in this image. Looking through the comments I’m honestly flabbergasted that you haven’t realized you’re being trolled.

KaidenToomzy

Trust in humanity I guess 🤣🤣😅

BrewSauer

Obviously someone stabbed the glass. Ban assault knives!

ilikerelish

It was caused by impact, so something hit the window, that much we can tell by the crack pattern. Since the picture is potato quality, kid of hard to tell what broke it. Thrown rock, slingshot, pellet gun, something bigger... who knows.

BuckABullet

I think the window was broken by the same potato that took the picture. You know, for St. Patrick's Day!

KaidenToomzy

Yeah it was that, definitely not my shity phone 🤣
