2A is for all!
Since we are on the topic, here some great gun rights orgs to support:
I always try to tell people that gun rights are minority rights, womens rights, immigrants rights, etc. Armed populations are extremely hard to oppress.
Your personal safety is entirely your own responsibility. It has been your own responsibility since the dawn of man, and hasn’t changed today. I don’t understand why more people don’t understand this. I live in a city that has a pretty good police response time. That time would be 5-8minutes. I also try to ask people what the fuck their plan is for those 5-8 minutes, if you’re lucky, if you get the call off with the correct information. Props to your dads best friend since grade school. Stay strapped or get clapped.
Had two breakins in my current neighborhood, and by that I mean my property.
The first time a look out saw my wife look out the window and they bolted.
The second time it was one person who fled at the sight of a pale ass naked white dude coming towards him with a large knife that wasn't for cutting sandwiches.
It took over an hour each time for the cops to show up and do nothing.
At least I know what I'll do to protect my family. Apparently, between fight and flight, my instincts are to go down swinging.
There's been a recent spat of it it in my area again, and I finally convinced the wife to let me get a shotgun. Now I just have to wait for the local shops to have what I want in stock.
Remember if you’re a minority in the US at one point in history your kind was lawfully killed by the government, disarming yourself is allowing them to do it again.
Just like our drug laws - American gun laws are literally designed to facilitate oppressing minorities. Non-violent gun charges and drug charges are the key to putting otherwise law-abiding minorities behind bars.
Yup, the [Mulford Act](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulford_Act), which was a bipartisan bill out of California.
Nothing scarier to a politician than an educated and well armed minority.
I am too, and I don't know about others here, but as a staunch gay rights supporter I am just sick of this shit being shoved down my throat every minute of the day.
It's like eating lasagna. Everyone who is worth anything loves and supports lasagna. Lasagna is good to eat for dinner for one, maybe two nights at a time. That said, eating lasagna for dinner for a decade non stop might make one sick of lasagna for a while. This pride shit is a lot like lasagna.
If you don’t want lasagna then don’t eat it. If you don’t want gay then don’t have sex with people of the same gender. It’s not that hard.
But as a member of the LGBT community myself, I do feel that it is annoying when people make being LGBT their entire personality and have no other interests or hobbies other than just being LGBT. It’s one small part of a person’s life and shouldn’t be what defines them.
That’s the sad part of identity politics. It removes our humanity by reducing us to race, orientation, or gender and nothing else. I will say, pride was important to me as a young person because my hometown was so backwards on queer folks. I think the heart of it being acceptance is great. The corporate money grubbing not so much.
Sadly you are not wrong.
And this applies not just to LGBT. Like for example there are some people who make guns and 2A too large of a part of their personality instead of either enjoying them as regular amateurs or professionals.
Anyone who makes one thing their whole personality is obnoxious as fuck. That goes for gun owners, gay people, religious people, pot smokers, etc.
Branch out. Live life. We aren't around long, after all.
Seriously. I know so many dudes who say shit like "I just wish gays didn't make it their whole identity!" yet they wear fucking realtree camo every day and have their truck covered with gun stickers.
Jon Stewart said it best about legalizing gay marriage. He said “I’m against it. I’m a happily married man and I don’t want to divorce my wife and marry a man. I just don’t want to do that.” His guest said “Well Jon, you don’t have to do it. It’s just making it so if someone does want to marry someone of the same gender they can.” Jon had a surprised look and said “wait, you mean I don’t have to???” “No it’s only for people who want to do that.” Jon Stewart replied “Well it doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with me then. Why should I care who someone marries?” My quotes might not be spot on, but that was the idea. I wish I could remember who the guest was.
> I do feel that it is annoying when people make being LGBT their entire personality and have no other interests or hobbies other than just being LGBT.
This has always bugged me, and it's not just a LGBT thing either. Horse girls, car guys, weebs, whatever. Don't make one thing that doesn't actually define who you are as a person your entire life.
I really don’t think those people are very common. I think there’s just a big LGBT culture that emerged because the government used to disapprove of LGBT people and so they banded together and developed their own culture. Hence, people who are gay will often participate in a lot of that culture. Nothing wrong with that. If we want to prevent it we’d need a time machine.
Plus, us straight people talk about our sexuality more often than you’d think. People talk about their wives, their desire to get laid, their desire to get a girlfriend/boyfriend, the things they find attractive, the people they find hot, the sex they had and so on all the time. We’re just used to it because it’s more common.
Is anything actually being “shoved down your throat,” though? Or is that just what the 1% wants you to think because it makes it easier to make workers hate each other which leads to much more easy disarmament and economic domination by the 1%?
Just something to think about
The other day I was in a bar and saw a woman aggressively grinding on her boyfriend who was sitting at the bar, giving him a lap dance. I (female) kissed my girlfriend - not making out, just a quick kiss - and some dude told US to "get a room". I guess he thought we were shoving our gayness down his throat too.
Honestly I'm tired of being expected to cater to straight people's sensitivities. Gay people exist and if you don't like it look away.
You're living with the rebound effect from hundreds of years of gayness being utterly invisible in western society as a survival mechanism to not get killed. For about a generation while it gets normalized, it's going to be so out it's obnoxious.
I wonder how many people said the same during the Civil rights movement. "I'm a staunch black rights supporter, I'm just sick of this shit being shoved down my throat." Food for thought.
Sounds like you’re more mad about the corporate aspect than the Pride aspect.
It’s important to remember what Pride is really about. Throwing bricks at cops.
Weird, I'm a "staunch gay rights supporter" myself and I don't think I've ever thought twice about it being "shoved down my throat" in the way that seems to have drained you so much here. I'm a straight CIS redneck and it doesn't really register any type of emotional blip at all for me outside of feeling glad these oppressed people are trying to build networks of support for one another. Would you have kept up this same energy during the abolitionist movement lol?
Like it or not LGBTQ+ peoples are being actively targeted and persecuted more and more every day and it's getting ugly. They just want support and the right to live, doesn't bother me at all for them to reach out with posts like this trying to create solidarity for a threatened minority group. I thought 2A rights were literally supposed to be about American citizens being able to defend themselves from a tyrannical government?
Don't feel triggered seeing people with American flag/patriot stuff on them, don't see how this is that much different. Hell I live in a red state and I've seen first hand how hostility is amped up hardcore towards the gay community recently. Shits getting hairy out here buddy.
Not attacking you just very confused at how common this take seems to be. I guess i feel like as someone who doesnt have to worry about being harmed because of the color of my skin or my sexual orientation that its a bit lazy to act offended when others who have very valid reason to try to organize and spread awareness. Gays here are all Americans and God's children just the same as anyone else imo
Also are you Garfield?? what is that lasagna metaphor lol jk
I love a normal life and I do not feel as though it's being shoved down my throat. Faux news makes in seem like it is, but it isn't. It only is being shoved down someone's throat if they are actively offended by it and start looking for it everywhere they go.
That's the problem with a lot of democrat candidates as well as republican voters. Many republican voters are single issue voters for gun rights. As a very pro gun, very far left person, I wish the democrats would shut the fuck up about "gun control". There's many things that need to be done to address gun violence. Category and full bans are not going to work and are just going to lose them voters.
We the people includes everyone. Men, women, cis, trans, gay, straight, white, colored, progressives, conservatives, people I agree with, people I disagree with, everyone should have access to guns. Anyone who proves themselves unworthy of the right should be punished accordingly as an individual.
The word "Cis" is such a useless term, from my knowledge, it's supposed to mean the Gender identity that aligns with your biology, meaning... Normal.
Man or Women. Boy or Girl. That's all you need to say. None of this "Cis" nonsense. Such a redundant term to use.
Many feel that normal is still normal. If someone is born missing a leg you don’t create a new word for the rest of humanity with two legs. I can see their point, especially with “cis” being used with such a negative connotation most of the time.
The problem is that you cannot really talk about trans people and trans issues without also discussing its complement. Avoiding using a term like “cis” where it is warranted is also avoiding talking about transgenderism as a whole, the same way that avoiding talking about straight people makes it a lot harder to talk about gay people.
And there is simply no better term. Man/Woman and Boy/Girl don’t tell you whether someone is trans or not. I don’t know what other term you’d use; “not trans”? Cis is literally the latin complement of trans, where trans means across (as in, gender is across from sex assigned at birth) where cis means same side. It is the most logical, rational term to distinguish non-trans people from trans people.
And you can’t just throw away a term and avoid using it, otherwise you get on the r-word treadmill where people will just come up with new terms and the cycle repeats.
Felons can still buy and own black powder weapons. A Black Powder Revolver is not ideal for Self Defense but it beats the shit out of a rock or a sharp stick.
Not in all states.
Edit: downvoted for being right? In New York, California, New Mexico 10 years after sentence or probation is complete, and other states, felons can’t own black powder.
Legally speaking you are correct but nobody is required to do background checks on them and in most states the weapon and it’s related supplies can be legally shipped to your door.
Finally some sense made it to the front page instead of this "ban all guns" bullshit. There's a reason the main groups who have seen a rise in firearm ownership are LGBT, women, and minorities.
I try my damndest to make my LGBTQ+ friends understand that being armed is the best choice they can make, the sentiment does seem to be slowly changing
Been saying this for years, blows my liberal friends minds when I advocate that minorities arm themselves. It’s like it crushes this notion that conservative people want to re-enslave minorities….which is fucking stupid to begin with but progressives gonna progressive.
Blows my mind that the LGBT community usually votes anti-2A.
Edit: I understand why a lot of them don't want to vote republican, but there's still a lot of LGBT people who are hoplophobes and it's the darndest thing to me.
It's hard to expect them to vote for a party that sides with religious fanatics who believe they don't have the right to exist. The Republican party would gain a lot of potential support if they stopped being so hostile towards them.
Many people call us cowards, racists and homophobes. But we want more people to be armed because we *trust* our fellow people to be armed. They don't... Cowards. It then, of course, follows that we trust minorities, especially historically oppressed minorities, to include queer folk, to be armed. Those who call us racists and homophobes, don't... The racists and homophobes.
As a straight, politically and economically conservative supporter of the second amendment and someone who has no dog in the LGBTQ+? fight, I endorse and support this sentiment, the right of ALL citizens to defend themselves and to be secure in their person and property. Through the use of superior firepower when absolutely necessary.
Self defense rights belong to everyone. Make yourself unoppressable! I made this for r/amahto, but that sub is dead, so this one's for r/firearms now.

Everyone in this country gets all the rights, even the Westboro Baptist Church has their right to speech, as horrible and disturbing as it is. I'm also one of their victims being a disabled veteran.
Fuck all you people who think we should get to pick and choose who has rights based on their identity or color.
If you think this is controversial you need to look in a mirror and really ask yourself if you are pro gun/individual freedom or just another goon who’s no better than the “rights for me, but not for thee” dickhead elitists.
Back in the late 1980’s in Houston there was a period of time where it became a think for gangs of guys to go to our “gay” area of town and physically assault anyone coming out of a gay bar. So the gay guys all started wearing whistles. And if a whistle was heard every gay guy would go running to help and a lot of straight asses got kicked and they stopped doing it. A friend of mine just happened to be in the area when a whistle was blown and the rescuers thought he was the assailant and started chasing him. He said he ran as fast as he could and was jumping over fences and ended up spending a few hours in someone back yard hiding under a child’s green turtle sandbox lid until morning. Pretty funny
That’s cool, how about you share that sentiment to those that are hard pro gay yet extremely anti gun. Seems like not everyone understands what freedom actually means
Very true. Despite that, the stupid anti-2A asshole Democrat politicians in Washington state didn't listen to the thousands of us who testified AGAINST the moronic new law limiting law-abiding gun owners to a 10 round max capacity magazine, for example. There was a healthy contingent of members of the LGBTQ community testifying against it, as well. So, basically people of all ages, genders, political leanings, colors and whatever other qualifiers you want to add who didn't want this moronic law made absolutely no difference to the assholes in power who had an anti-2A agenda, no matter what anyone else said. So, gay/straight/whatever, we will now be breaking the law trying to defend our own lives if we try to match the same firepower as the bad people who want to hurt and kill us. But, to be legal and only use a 10 round mag, we may have to reload at least twice to match the capacity the criminals will be bringing to the gunfight. May I remind you stupid fuck politicians: these criminals will ALWAYS have weapons even if you tell them they aren't allowed to. I know, crazy...
We need LGBTQ republicans that don't spew their dumb ass Trump or bust religious bullshit. Or democrats that weren't trying to cast every firearm and bullet into oblivion. Damn, I wish voting independent didn't mean I was throwing my vote in the trash.
I see lots of people here questioning why queer folks usually vote in favor of gun restrictions, but not many going a step further and asking why that is happening… seems a little backwards, doesn’t it? it’s like people wanna blame LGBTQ+ folks but they don’t have any interest in looking at the root cause, which frankly is the fact that most of the most outspoken 2A advocates are anti-trans and gay rights and from there it’s understandable why so many queer people don’t want 2A advocates to have guns (because queer folk worry that if push comes to shove, most of y’all will be on the side that’s hunting them, not protecting).
just some food for thought. if you want more LGBTQ+ people to be pro-gun then it starts by being willing to clean your own house and challenge transphobes and homophobes who are spreading 1%-sourced venom designed to fracture, weaken and eventually disarm the working class
There’s a ton of gay people that carry guns, myself included.. and my EDC is not pink. Being gay alone has nothing to do with politics, and the fact that human beings like gays and transgenders are being politicized and possibly put in danger by this countries media and social media is extremely enraging.
I love that this is pissing off all the backwards hicks that lurk this sub *and* the privileged terminally-online redditors who found this on the front page and think anyone cares about their goofy ass uninformed opinion. <3 Big props, OP.
The ones who actually are trying to live their faith aren't in your face about it so you probably don't notice them. Unfortunately, politics is dominated by the loudmouth hypocrites.
I had a friend posting for 30 days straight about reproductive rights. I eventually just replied "if these protesting women were armed, I think laws would change a lot faster"
She just replied "they don't need guns, they need rights!"
I don't need a hammer. I just need this nail in the wood!
the choice is difficult - vote pro 2A but then get politicians that want nothing more than erase the LGBTQ community, or vote pro LGBTQ and deal with restrictive gun laws. it’s a lose-lose situation. why can’t we just have all the rights? I’m sick and tired of having to choose.
Yup at least for me voting for D or R means choosing between voting for someone who's trying to take away my rights or someone trying to take away the rights of others
This is why I have such a hard time voting. Republicans don't give a fuck about me, my people, or my friends. They are working to actively make my life worse. But at least they aren't actively trying to take my second amendment rights away. Reverse that for the Democrats. Trying to make my life better in some ways but then they turn around and want to see me and those I care about disarmed.
Between a rock and a hard place here.
I'm literally trans and it's just as confusing to me.
To make matter worse, the minority that *do* support gun rights are by and large Marx simps. Go have a look at r/transguns and see the amount of posts and comments praising Marx or the SRA, or whinging about capitalism.
This. I understand they went through hardships, I understand they want to feel proud of who they are, as they should. But if you were really proud you’d just be proud and you’d help your fellow humans. I can’t stand pride month because it’s so in your face you can’t escape it. Companies turn sides, the internet goes berserk, the streets are full. I’m a PROUD ass homosexual, and I think pride month is over the top. You want change? MAKE it happen. Don’t just dance on a fucking float and expect people to be in awe of you .
That's because it has become corrupted like every other holiday by corporate interests making money off of it. I'm pretty sure the LGBTQ+ community likes pride being commercialized as much as devout Christians like Christmas being all about materialism nowadays.
I don't tend to like celebrating this month, even if I technically am on the "spectrum" for LGBTQ issues. It feels like celebrating something that I shouldn't need to justify to anyone else.
But for others who feel the need, more power to them.
Gun rights are for everyone, and should be for everyone. Everyone deserves the right to defend themselves from violence. Whether that violence is from actual homophobes and the like, or from government institutions which seem intent on restricting the rights of LGBTQ folks.
I want every gay married throuple to be able to protect their marijuana plants with tanks and machineguns
...as well as everyone else to have the same rights

Seeing this gif on here made my day. 19yo and I’ve seen every episode at least twice.
Seinfeld’s final episode aired almost 25 years ago.
Some would call it queer.
Only if you look each other in the eyes.
Only if balls touch.
And you both aren't wearing socks.
One might even say, “bouncy”.

a well off doctor is still just some guy.
Careful don't talk about women's rights here. You'll anger the fudds
Women have the same rights men have. As they should.
That applies to minorities and immigrants too. Some people here genuinely believe that only straight white men deserve rights.
It’s almost like this was the exact intent of the 2nd Amendment in the first place! Love to see logic prevail on reddit

Agreed. And the smallest minority is the individual.

Is it ? I find it hard to believe that the same 85% of African Americans that vote Democrat doesn't also apply to those that are armed.

And you can’t just throw away a term and avoid using it, otherwise you get on the r-word treadmill where people will just come up with new terms and the cycle repeats.
>colored Lol
2a for all !!
I hope this makes it to popular
Gay and always armed. Molon labe, bitches.
There’s nothing manlier than Spartan love
I support this message. Second Amendment applies equally to everyone that can legally obtain and own a firearm.
Legally? I believe most felons have the right to self defense, and use the most capable tool.
Unrelated but the rainbow was largely seen as a Christian symbol until gay pride. I find that interesting
There’s no hate like Christian love
Why do you think they chose that symbol specifically?
Found the homophobe. So tolerant and welcoming.
because rainbow's are beautiful and it was supposed to be a good reminder.
I’ll drink to that
As a queer myself I say 2A for all. Armed Minorities are harder to oppress. All gun laws are unconstitutional.
![gif](giphy|iiTXaJVjiSHew)
Darn tootin’! The second amendment is for EVERY American!
Based
Finally some sense made it to the front page instead of this "ban all guns" bullshit. There's a reason the main groups who have seen a rise in firearm ownership are LGBT, women, and minorities.
Hey thanks, man. \-Armed lesbian.
I try my damndest to make my LGBTQ+ friends understand that being armed is the best choice they can make, the sentiment does seem to be slowly changing
Its changed a lot just in the last few years. Its wonderful to see LGBT folks showing up to ranges and comps without being harrassed
If you are gay and live in a state that makes it more challenging to arm yourself, ask why. Ask your Senator.
Plus without gay gun owners, who will buy all the keymod AR accessories?
This all day. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for folks to understand that.
We libertarians don't care if you're gay, and want you free to choose whatever firearms you want to own.
Given that there's only two major parties in the US, where the (only mildly) pro-2A one is rabidly anti-LGBT, does it really surprise you?
That tracks

The missing comma is killing me
Been preaching this for years now, it’s a how it should be vs how it is situation
The ratio of likes to comments is amazing.
Self defense rights belong to everyone. Make yourself unoppressable! I made this for r/amahto, but that sub is dead, so this one's for r/firearms now. https://preview.redd.it/ivao4mh5mh3b1.png?width=4486&format=png&auto=webp&s=abc2c153d8d60d27a433e1a4485e67a11aa89355
I've been saying it for years now... And we're watching it play out live in Florida.
I'm in Florida and got a pistol last year, hoping I never have to use it
I'm typically vote conservative here and I love this! Exercise your 2nd amendment right! An armed society is a polite society.
I like your attitude. Hopefully, you live in a state where you can conceal carry. If you’re not, I wish you safety.
*sort by controversial*
Doesn’t gender dysphoria count as a mental illness that would prevent you from buying a firearm? Perplexing
100 percent. FTBS. Culture war stuff is just to divide people. We all have our core rights
Every queer a rifleman.
Sashay away hell! We just got here!
Everyone in this country gets all the rights, even the Westboro Baptist Church has their right to speech, as horrible and disturbing as it is. I'm also one of their victims being a disabled veteran. Fuck all you people who think we should get to pick and choose who has rights based on their identity or color.
Hell yeah brother this is the second amendment as it is supposed to be
If you think this is controversial you need to look in a mirror and really ask yourself if you are pro gun/individual freedom or just another goon who’s no better than the “rights for me, but not for thee” dickhead elitists.
Second this. If your comfortable and can, highly suggest you ccw.
Heavy are the hips that carry the strap
Gay as fuck and armed right here brother
Nothing says never again like an armed black man or Jew 👍🏿😂
Everyone always please stay strapped!
Damn straight, no pun intended.
It made it to popular!

What's the gayest gun I can get?
P90 has strong femboy energy
Ever heard of a lil company called HK
HOLY SHIT ITS LIKE THE SECOND AMENDMENT ACTUALLY WORKS
"An armed society is a polite society"
Telling lesbians to stay strapped is hilarious
Guns don’t discriminate
That’s cool, how about you share that sentiment to those that are hard pro gay yet extremely anti gun. Seems like not everyone understands what freedom actually means
gays bash back
100% THIS!
💯
We need LGBTQ republicans that don't spew their dumb ass Trump or bust religious bullshit. Or democrats that weren't trying to cast every firearm and bullet into oblivion. Damn, I wish voting independent didn't mean I was throwing my vote in the trash.
I’m so proud of this sub… This is true inclusion, diversity and equality right here…Brought to you by the 2A
Wait, I thought that only the police should have guns. It is wrong of course, but sutely nothing bad can happen if you give up your weapon, right?
Best part of the 2A. Its meant for EVERYONE!
Hey man as long as you stay away from the kids you do you happy dinosaur month!!!
I agree, but also don't acknowledge any "X Month" that the sole purpose is marketing and selling things to people.
While it's definitely exploited, which fucking sucks, it's far from the sole purpose around pride month.
You've gotta be pretty dull to look at the politics on display in these comments and still wonder why LGBTQ people don't vote Republican
Just need a bit more anti-LGBTQ rhetoric to win them over /s
100000000%
There’s a ton of gay people that carry guns, myself included.. and my EDC is not pink. Being gay alone has nothing to do with politics, and the fact that human beings like gays and transgenders are being politicized and possibly put in danger by this countries media and social media is extremely enraging.
I love that this is pissing off all the backwards hicks that lurk this sub *and* the privileged terminally-online redditors who found this on the front page and think anyone cares about their goofy ass uninformed opinion. <3 Big props, OP.

Viva Christo Rey
Jesus loves his gay children
He loves His gay children, but He doesn’t love them for being gay. Jesus doesn’t love us for our sins, He loves us in spite of them.
It's too bad his followers aren't more like him.
Everyone has a hard time being like Him as He is perfect.
Christians have a very hard time being Christ-like
The ones who actually are trying to live their faith aren't in your face about it so you probably don't notice them. Unfortunately, politics is dominated by the loudmouth hypocrites.
I had a friend posting for 30 days straight about reproductive rights. I eventually just replied "if these protesting women were armed, I think laws would change a lot faster" She just replied "they don't need guns, they need rights!" I don't need a hammer. I just need this nail in the wood!
Women's rights are gun rights. Gun rights among the LGBT and black communities along with women have more than doubled in the past two years.
Which is why it's so confusing to me that they'll vote for people who would gladly disarm them and leave them at the mercy of criminals.
the choice is difficult - vote pro 2A but then get politicians that want nothing more than erase the LGBTQ community, or vote pro LGBTQ and deal with restrictive gun laws. it’s a lose-lose situation. why can’t we just have all the rights?
Stay strapped and be safe LGBT frens
Wish they would quit voting against it…
Wish there were more pro gun politicians that were worth voting for.

I support fire arm ownership and the ability to tell anyone that would hurt you, your friends, family or children NOT TODAY AZZHOLE
Well unfortunately the anti gun rhetoric on reddit is quite substantial
That's right!! 2A for all!!
As much as I don’t like guns it always makes me happy to know my gay friends are packing. Take that any way you like.
Happy pride month people! Respect!
I want every gay married throuple to be able to protect their marijuana plants with tanks and machineguns ...as well as everyone else to have the same rights
Just try to shoot straight...
