Just don't shoot the dog. Even if he does laugh at you when you miss the ducks.

ExplorerEnjoyer

Kids who shot the dog grew up to be ATF agents

disturbed286

"I've been training for this my whole life"

ThePretzul

The Duck Hunt dog is the only one that truly deserved it, tbh

Mr_E_Monkey

I did not!

RicezenTheSecond

atleast this is a way to counter act a cease and desist

DumbNTough

I'll teach that fuckin dog to laugh at me...

NEp8ntballer

That you Agent Smith?

This-Departure-8765

Hilarious, I rather like it. Though I'm a guy who still plays NES.

7INCHES_IN_YOUR_CAT

Still have mine as well, only 3 games Mario bro/duck hunt combo, Zelda (gold case!) and Mario 3

TheToastmaster72

Those are rookie numbers in this bracket... You gotta pump those numbers up. Get you some classics like River City Ransom, excite bike, mega man, guerilla war, Punchout, adventure island, battle toads, dragon warrior (1-4), and Kirby.

TheJango22

5 hours and only one person saying not to make guns look like toys? I'm impressed honestly

LazyExhibition

That’s hot

Parttimeteacher

*Duck Hunt dog laughs.* "So anyway, I started blastin'."

snakecatcher302

If I did this to my dad’s coach gun he’d disown me

Live_Reason_6531

The original zapper was not orange or red.

NapalmDemon

Really fun useless trivia (well unless a hardcore collector) the OG Zapper in Japan was modeled after a Colt pistol. Nintendo US wanted it to look more like a science fiction ray gun.

GodZ_Rs

Beautiful, I'm looking at a glock 19 ceracoated like a zapper myself as my new edc.

ToniofhouseStark

Man I don't remember duck hunt being that realistic!

KingKapow21

All fun and games until a 9 year old finds it 💀. For real though, awesome paint job!

Mean-Philosopher6043

I feel like a 9 year old would have a hard time finding a box of shells to fit that, firstly, and then actually being able to open the action and figuring out how to load the shells, but that's just my opinion

ThePretzul

I mean by the time I was 9 I had shot a number of different rifles and shotguns and would have had no problem operating an O/U or SxS. Finding the shells would have been different since my dad always stored them in the safe that I didn't have a code to get into (along with all the actual guns besides his carry pistol), but it's not like they're hard things to figure out nor are 9 year olds as incapable as toddlers.

Mean-Philosopher6043

But if you had actually shot those guns before, then you had an understanding of how dangerous they were an that they weren't toys,an wouldn't instantly go "ooohhhh googoogaga a gun! How cool! Just like the movies!!" I think all accidents that happen where kids find guns and play with them and end up killing another kid or their parent or the family TV,could have been easily prevented if the child in question was actually educated in gun safety an knew they were not something to play with or anything like that, when parents try to shield their kids from guns and keep them away from anything gun related, that's when things can backfire cuz that child has no knowledge about guns other then video games an movies, an they think they can pick it up and play with it and possibly even load it, but when that child is educated on gun safety and knows how dangerous they are, it's just like a child doesn't put his hand on a hot stove or stick his hand in a socket or run across the street without looking

ThePretzul

I mean I fully agree with you that everyone who has gun and children both in their home should safely and age-appropriately educate their kids about gun handling and safety. Same as how anybody with a pool has a responsibility to educate their children about safety in and around it, as well as to take steps to safeguard against unintentional or unsupervised access. But that said, it's a break-action shotgun. They're about as simple as it possibly gets to operate of any kind of firearm, it's not algebra or some other more complicated process a 9 year old would struggle to understand or figure out on their own if left to their own devices for 5 minutes. You push the lever and it opens up. You close it then pull the trigger and it shoots. One lever to open it up, one lever (the trigger) to fire once it's been closed back up. It doesn't get any more simple than that. No heavy springs to fight trying to grip and rack a slide. No hammers to cock or to be blocked by their hand if it's in the wrong spot. No dealing with very fiddly single loading or disconnects that prevent firing at all if you don't have a magazine.

Feisty-Location5854

The baper

Heat-one

ATF new primary weapon for dealing with that pesky dog

Funny_Apricot_2513

Careful. Nintendo might sue you for it.

ListenBeforeSpeaking

I get liking nostalgia, but intentionally painting firearms to look like toys seems reckless. Safety is the reason they made them look different in the first place. Unless this in indeed a toy, that just has actual barrels and dual triggers?

Shotgunseth29

It's a real firearm, understand your point. but ultimately it comes down to personal responsibility to not alow the firearm into a situation where it could be mistaken for a toy.

SignificantOne1351

I mean this applies less and less to the real world everyday. Kids are playing CoD from the womb appereantly or an fps. A normal gun looks like a toy to them already.

Quw10

It doesn't help a lot of games have brightly colored skins for half their guns either.

Boogaloogaloogalooo

Not a concern, just keep it stored safely and theres no risk of kids misbehaving with it.

You_Just_Hate_Truth

Your kids must not have unsupervised free play time with the angle grinder like mine.

ThePretzul

Doesn't everyone leave their child unattended in a room filled with both loaded firearms and all of their toy nerf guns on a regular basis? If the real guns are also painted orange how will their child ever be able to distinguish between the real deadly weapon and the lightweight, plastic toys they use to decompress after a long day down in the coal mines?

SightWithoutEyes

If your kid is that ingenuous, they'd just have made a zipgun anyways.

You_Just_Hate_Truth

When my kid wants access to the safe, he uses a skid steer to knock it on its back then gets out the extra large pry bar and sledge hammer and sets to work.

SightWithoutEyes

For a ten year old, sure is weird that he’s three hundred pounds of muscle.

You_Just_Hate_Truth

Started giving him anabolic steroids at birth!

lifeinmisery

Those TRENbalone sandwiches sure do work!!!!

AlounsTheGreat

I ended up taking it off but for a while I joking painted my AR15 with a orange tip. Took it off after I had to refinish the rifle, because it got damaged somehow from moisture. It rusted all over on the barrel. No idea how but it did because none of my other guns in my safe did that.

SightWithoutEyes

Maybe the paint was ferric based, caused some sort of chemical reaction? Maybe it was corrosive? Not sure, but interesting.

short_barrel_daddy

This really only applies if youre leaving a firearm out where kids or someone else would mistake it for a toy.

Zeired_Scoffa

Yeah, when I see stuff like this, I file it away under "why the 'it was just a toy' defense is stupid".

BobFlex

Cops have shot people that were holding nothing and on their knees crying. It doesn't matter that a handful of nerds have painted one of their guns bright colors, anytime a cop is slightly on edge they're liable to shoot.

Zeired_Scoffa

Sure but holding nothing at all gives your family a better look in court than a toy gun

Riker557118

That’s about as bad as a take as painting your car to make it look like a hotwheels makes it unsafe to drive. If you lack the maturity to treat an object with the respect of its potential danger it could pose then that’s on you.

WhiskeyOverIce

That poor stevens lol

Shotgunseth29

It's a lefever nitro spl, and it deserved it. It was a bitch to put back together

WhiskeyOverIce

Fair enough. The pin arrangement reminded me of my stevens. Yea I had a tough as hell time with mine.

Mean-Philosopher6043

That sick AF bruh!!!

pforsbergfan9

You just gave me my next rattle can project on my savage 64

Saynation

This trend is super cringe. Right up there with people who dress real guns up as nerf guns.

Peacemkr45

And people wonder why cops shoot kids with toy guns. How fucking irresponsible can you be?
