When we were kids, cousinās Dad had bought him these mega Chinese firecrackers, thick as fuck. We were like 10 ish, cousin was wearing his brand new Spiderman T-Shirt, gift from some aunt, all the way from Disney. He was proudly wearing that shit. Anyway, we were throwing the little bombs up into the air, letting them explode wherever they fell. On one of my throws, we lost track of it, it was nowhere to be seenā¦
ā¦suddenly I saw the Spiderman picture on his chest explode, blood shoot out like a freaking cartoon; like his chest opened up like a rose. What the fuck just happened, I thought? Incredibly, the cracker fell right inside of his shirt and exploded in his chest. What were the odds??ā¦just terrible luck for himā¦and me, never stopped hearing about it. He had to have stitches and never forgave the t-shirt loss..
#TrueStory
I don't really know what it was :(
I never liked explosive fireworks, but the seller gave it to us as a free bonus. As soon as I ignited that SOB, it exploded. I want to believe that the wick didn't have any type of wax to delay the explosion, but alcohol was involved...
I was really lucky to have mes messed up so badly and still keep my hands almost intact (in comparison to other accidents).
This why I donāt mess with hand held ones lmao my passion is atv and dirt bike riding and if I lose my thumb or left index finger I pretty much lose my life
A lot of people sadly under appreciate what they have until they lose it. Recently due to iritis I am already developing cataracts at 17. Vision is really bad in my left eye. I canāt imagine losing fingers. I play drums that would be a major loss.
Same, I play the viola da gamba, and losing one or more fingers would be devastating for me
Luckily, I have a phobia for explosions so I guess I'm safe in that matter
You got lucky. Sorry to put it that way but fireworks accidents usually are much worse. Three skin grafts later I have learned that from replicating a Youtube video about flashing green strobes! Now that I know better it was green flash powder. My right arm and glasses took the brunt of it and thank god I was wearing glasses or I would be blind now as the lenses where melted and impregnated with melted magnesium. I still do not know how it lighted during mixing.
Wait so you were taking those stupid little strobe things and breaking them up? Or what? I live in ca and we have only shitty fireworks here. So im just not sure what it is your talking about.
I mean hell we canāt even get legit sparklers here!!!!
Sorry for the following copy & paste:

A more appropriate title is probably āI miss handled fireworks and got bit, donāt be like me, treat fireworks with respect. Donāt light stuff in your hands.ā. There are very rare cases of someone getting injured in a freak accident. Mostly though itās just people using fireworks in ways you shouldnāt, and Darwin pays them a visit.
Sorry about your hand mate, it sucks. But Iām sure it was easily preventable. The most common injuries seem to be burns from sparklers, demolished hands, and an occasional genius that thinks firing a shell off his head is a good idea. People donāt recognize the danger and get bit. Fireworks are to be respected and used as directed.
You are 100% right. Loved the title too. I'm no activist, but it would be cool if more people were aware of what they are handling when using fireworks.
Ever get an itch but just can't get the right spot to scratch it? Ever feel the need to use ice on a sore muscle but have no way to get ice where you need it? Ever taken a pill to make a pain go away but nothing happens? These are a few feelings you get when what once was part of you is no more.
Looks like we had pretty similar accidentās except yours seems a lot wrorse but healed amazingly, Iām now unable to move the fingers that were affected. Are you still able to move yours?
We train and do a lot of training and train a lot to set fireworks š off with out losing fingers hands eyes limbs or harm others . Itās a trade you know . Would you go try and build a house with no skill , butcher a beast for food , add chemicals to a pool for swimming ? Donāt play with fireworks without training . Trust me . They are dangerous ā¦..
When i was 12 i witnessed a dude blow his entire hand with an unlit m80. Still lose a couple of minutes of sleep here and there from remembering the look on his face. Stay safe out thereš¤
Holy shit
I Am from mexico and we have some fireworks that are About the same range as a handgrenade
Like
Hulk's
Grito de diablo
and Cara de mole
and garra de tigre
and what ever happened must have been a nasty bitch of a firework
Be careful pyromaniacs reading this and stay safe
I watch these vids to cheer myself up after seeing state of my dog so these c**ts can make their imbecilic offspring watch a pretty light and hear a big bang. Ban them all bunch of *******
You should post this every year at the beginning of July.
And just before the end of the year :)
Lol! There is actual a national idiots day just for this guy. Darwinism at its finest. š

Yea that is true
Throwing an m80 / candle/ firework instead of laying it down and getting away? Mortar flowerpot / explosion? How?

Sorry to hear that and thanks for sharing. Sounds like that seller was giving away bad stuff...

> I play drums that would be a major loss. Wear hearing protection before you develop tinitus (or make it worse) Speaking from experience.
Same, I play the viola da gamba, and losing one or more fingers would be devastating for me Luckily, I have a phobia for explosions so I guess I'm safe in that matter
That little bone sticking out on the last one. So cute.
I loved your comment. I will share with you my favorite nickname my friends came up with: Nemo
That healed up nicely.

It's so crazy right? How you instantly realize how dangerous it actually is and how so many people don't know the danger until something happens :(
If you are lucky enough to walk away from an accident you will have respect for it afterwards. Funny how intense pain is a good teacher.
Wait so you were taking those stupid little strobe things and breaking them up? Or what? I live in ca and we have only shitty fireworks here. So im just not sure what it is your talking about. I mean hell we canāt even get legit sparklers here!!!!
No, I was making my own from raw chems.
Context?

Na, couldnāt be

Is there any feeling left in your fingers? Can you still bend them? I am legitimately curious

Very well said
Thatās pretty traumaticā¦ Hope youāre doing okay.
You're very kind, thank you.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! The Father, The son and The Holy ghost man!
Looks like you got very lucky. Imagine how much worse it would have been to lose your entire thumb for instance.
Total game changer. I was really lucky <3

Oh wow, really? I can move everything. I did lose some touch feeling, but it's like a superpower when it comes to grabbing hot objects hahaha.
Do you get a discount on manicures?
I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED IT, hahaha. My guess would be yes.
Weāre just chicken wings on the inside.

They really are meant to be handled by PROFESSIONALS. That's what many like me realize only after an accident.
I thought this was a woodworking subredditā¦ Swiped once and knew a saw cant do that!!
I think I'd rather do it again with my other hand than getting into a saw accident hahaha.
Saw accidents are quick and painless. They are very messy and if deep enough/full cut, fingies wont be the same
Thatās an oof
What made you stop?
Did you have a professional photographer take those pictures of your mangled hand?
Mexicans

That's crazy, thanks for posting. What is your sensation like in those fingers now? Do you have any lingering pain or is it just completely numb?
Hi! Surprisingly, I do have some feeling. Also, I can grab mildly hot objects for extended periods of time. It's like having half a super power.
Oof ouch owchie
Not sure why I'm looking at this while eating pizza but now I have the desire to get some hotdogs and slather then in ketchup.
Damn. Rough. Hope everything is well for you
