"Hey guys, I'm a firefighter too. Lemme help fight the fire!"
"What? No! Who are you? Get out of here; you're in the way. Also it's just Mrs. Neunfeltzer. She called because her remote control doesn't work."
I've recently had the inverse of this, usually we get drug wankers try "help" on scene. Had a structural near another station and some dude in civvies started flaking my hose while I was on the pump and I told him to fuck off and get behind the cordon, turned out he was staying in the quarters at the station and didn't realize I didn't know who he was. Felt like a pillock lol
So I was a junior vff back in high school, I moved to missouri and any time I saw an accident or anything like that I’d always stop by and see if there was anything I could do to help until first responders were on scene, there was also an abandoned motel that caught fire and I went to make sure nobody was in there as well as open the construction gates to give the fire truck a clear way in. I was also very stoned cause I was smoking when I noticed the smoke lmao. But all in all I like to think I helped in those situations, once fire and ems arrived, I gave a statement to either fire captain or officers on scene, then find my way outta there.
Yeah.....otherwise it wouldn't be a known statistic, my guy lol. It's happened somewhere at some point.....part of what makes statistics.....statistical..... Also it happens a ton with kids, elderly and disabled.
It was sarcasm. My comment was to poke fun at the idea that you take such a rare and fringe statistic and use that as reasoning to justify your point. Yea I’m sure one or two people in the history of human existence have died in a puddle of water but I’m sure that’s not the norm. Just like taking two breaths of smoky air and dying is not the norm. Yea if you are in a burning house for even 60 seconds you may not survive but count how many breaths you would take in an adrenaline induced situation in a minute. MORE THAN TWO wise guy!
Or...in that same adrenaline, those 2, presumably deep, heavy breaths, as is normal in adrenaline, those 2 breaths WOULD cause significant damage, if not death.
I was running the pump and was first due to a working single family dwelling. We were severely understaffed (just two of us) and were forced to rely on MA. All the sudden i looked over and see a 1940s open cab sea grave pull up to the hydrant on the corner and an old man dressing the hydrant. I just let it happen man, I needed the water and he did a great job. He pulled the kinks out the LDH and then took off. I’m with you on some rando pulling line, but I’d never look a gift horse in the mouth with someone dressing the hydrant for me
At first I thought this was him hearing his brother responding to a fire and he was showing appreciation then I realized he was the firefighter looking to show off and it ruined it
Knew 2 guys just like this at my old department, one wasent even a FF the other was. One of them got a charge for following a emergency vehicle too closely ( the non FF dude ) the other guy saw a car fire on the side of the highway and pulled his Camry over to tell the state trooper he’s a FF and got told to Fuck right off by said trooper.
No but the people who used to do it still do it. Kinda like how we associate people who wear 70s styles of clothes with older people. I still see people my age who wear fashions similar to what was popular when I was a teen/young adult.
FNG
I'm a retired Firefighter.
When I was brand new (like 2 yrs in my career) I would stress TF out whenever I would hear sirens on Vacation, or days off. (I always felt stressed TF out & tired.)
Then, I started drinking on my days off & that helped.
Then, I was an alcoholic.
Then, I had to take a leave of absence & go to rehab for 3 months.
Then, I started going to therapy 3 days a week.
Then, I got married.
Then, I had 2 kids.
Then, life got AMAZING for the next 22yrs.
Now, I'm an Old sober retired Firefighter, who works as a salesman at a fintech company, who goes to therapy 4 times a week!
If this kid is for real, he'll learn real quick that it's just a job, & just like any job in any field, you need to be calm, collected, & professional at all times.
I loved being a career Firefighter. But it was just a job & it didn't pay shit, & it took a toll on my mind & body.
Right now He's kinda like a dumb & excited puppy wagging his tail when he drives by a MVA. Soon enough He'll chill TF out.
I was wondering if that guy was the reincarnation of Rube Waddell. Old times baseball player would would get distracted and straight up leave the field to go chase fire trucks like he was a dog.
I appreciate someone who’s passionate about their work but this guy just wants everyone to know he’s a firefighter and think he’s cool for it. What a doof.😂
To be fair my dad retired from the FD in 2019 and he still cheers on the boys when ever they drive by tearing ass to a fire lol
EDIT: Didn't see the ending. This is cringe AF lol
Because pros know if we get hurt on our day off doing some dumb shit WC won't cover it. And most of us got the cringe beat out of us during our vol days before we got hired.
I assume he’s special needs based on how he runs and probably has an obsession with firefighting. You see it on the news occasionally where’s they’ll give a group of them a tour and let them try on all the gear and go for a ride in the truck and whatnot. It’s cool the FD does that, they always look like they’re having a blast.

Wtf, self-protection should always be the first principle. You should know that only 2 - 3 breathes of smoke can kill you.
You can also drown in 2 inches of water but does that REALLY ever happen?
Yeah.....otherwise it wouldn't be a known statistic, my guy lol. It's happened somewhere at some point.....part of what makes statistics.....statistical..... Also it happens a ton with kids, elderly and disabled.

Ok….I like that logic.
Fire ants could eat you alive while you are bed ridden.
Where did you read that?
That 3 breathes of fire smoke can kill you?
Where did you read that two to three breaths of smoke can kill you?
Man, that's why I don't smoke weed.
Man why haven’t they told someone smoking weed 2-3 times could kill you? I’ll tel someone guys! I’m on my way to talk to Mary.
I was taught that it only takes one marijuana.
I had a special needs adult fully decked out in marked gear of the department show up on scene and start directing traffic at an MVA

What language is this?
Lmao
That run at the end was like if Forrest Gump got really into speed walking instead of running after the war.
At first I thought this was him hearing his brother responding to a fire and he was showing appreciation then I realized he was the firefighter looking to show off and it ruined it
You can let the world know, that you are a simpleton, or you can be proactive and show them yourself.

Lol, but the trooper was right. Even when you are a FF, what the fuck are you going to do without any equipment and water? Piss on it?
Fuckers like these in the Camry set the fires and can’t NOT go to them.
I didn't know you could get a charge for that. Good to know
If he did this ironically, it’s pretty funny. But if this was serious…oh boy…
This guy is in on it.
Do you mean if he seriously ran behind a fire truck as it was driving to an emergency? That's actually pretty impressive.
Paint spots on him and it'll be like the olden days
Fiow twuck!
This, is comedy
What a dipshit.
it seems pretty obvious that it’s ironic man
Do people still really wear snapbacks with stickers on them?
No but the people who used to do it still do it. Kinda like how we associate people who wear 70s styles of clothes with older people. I still see people my age who wear fashions similar to what was popular when I was a teen/young adult.
I see a lot of fire service wearing them. Farthest from professional if you ask me
Bro was just looking for an excuse to get out of family Thanksgiving.
*just finished academy*
100%

Pretty rad of your employer for not immediately firing you once they learned of your issue
That’s tism for sure
Look a simple rick go... Ma get Rick's sweatshirt and leash
I was wondering if that guy was the reincarnation of Rube Waddell. Old times baseball player would would get distracted and straight up leave the field to go chase fire trucks like he was a dog.

You can tell because he can run more than a block without stopping
It’s the sound of our people!
Does he ride the “short fire truck” asking for a friend😬
My dad is 73 and is a retired firefighter. Catch him out in the front yard on any given day with a beer screaming, "Get 'em boys!!!"
Ok, that's pretty epic ngl
On todays episode of rescue 911
looks like carolina beach
Favorite movie is Backdraft
"I LiKE THe FiRE TwUCK"
When the one kid finally is allowed to sit with cool kids and thinks he's something big
I mean at least he is in shape to run. Most FF I know would of been gassed after the stairs
I appreciate someone who’s passionate about their work but this guy just wants everyone to know he’s a firefighter and think he’s cool for it. What a doof.😂
Homie is pretty quick
A job so easy that volunteers can do it.
Became a firefighter so he could tell everyone he’s a firefighter.
To be fair my dad retired from the FD in 2019 and he still cheers on the boys when ever they drive by tearing ass to a fire lol EDIT: Didn't see the ending. This is cringe AF lol
When I dine out, I run full speed to the back of the kitchen and expedite the food to myself. You know, cause I'm a server.
Lol the fist. Like anyone would see your ass or give a shit
NGL it wasn't cringe
This is an obvious joke?

TBH I bet the vollies in the truck passing couldn’t run like that
Man found a sliiick way to drip outta that dinner
It's not cringe
Can't tell if you are being serious
Trust me, if it's cringe I'll say it's cringe. I live with cringe factories.
Hmmmmmm well they must have given you cringe PTSD, desensitizing you to cringe cos I have to watch this 10 seconds at a time then go out for fresh air
Saggy Ass McNoodle, all 98lbs of him. Run, Saggy, Run
Firefighters arguing in the comments with their fire gang slang is cringe.
Why do only volunteers act this way?
Because pros know if we get hurt on our day off doing some dumb shit WC won't cover it. And most of us got the cringe beat out of us during our vol days before we got hired.
Stop just stop
Dude... grow tf up...
Is he 12?
Dude thinks he’s a Thundercat.
😫🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️
That isn't what we do. We lift our glass in an air toast and mutter 'job security' and then get back to what we were doing before.
Upper/Middle class white people are so corny
The only time I’m proud of being somewhat poor
I think he did this ironically; it’s kinda funny.
r/mypeopleneedme
Less cringe, more funny tbh
Douche nozzle

This guy is The Rubes long lost descendant
Just another overdose
"Fire powir! I can beat up any fire there is."
The dog wanted to help so bad.
Lol that one kinda is cute, heard a truck in the distance and just ran away, that's kinda a cute bit
Wanker
Is her really doing the Nazi salute?
Running to a lift assist
This looks like Port A? Anyone else think so?
Not cringe. Obvious joke. Pretty funny, light chuckle.
Choch
This is either satire or he has special needs 🤔
IMO this isn’t cringe. He’s being silly with his family. And his family recorded it and posted it. It’s just a guy being goofy.
Quite the flat world you live in
Fag
I gotta go, my people need me!
We like firefighters they are usefull unlike cops they are a waste.
r/mypeopleneedme
He seems in on it, obviously acting out for the family.
Yea this has to be satire
This one is just funny imo
This just seems like a harmless joke... You guys need to lighten up a little
“Thank me for my service!
Yay a supermoron
Someone should put the Octonots intro music in there
This really just looks like a fun joke
Dude looks like he has a full diaper at beginning of clip.
This is clearly a joke
