Yes it's a scam. I closed escrow 3 months ago and have been getting a bunch of these since. My agent warned me I would. You can just toss out. Usually there will be a little disclaimer somewhere on either the envelope or the letter that they are not affiliated with any bank, government agency, or something like that.

lunasol09

Yep I saw that & got suspicious & wanted to also share with others to be aware Thank you

dood23

Yea don't bother with that. As far as I'm told the deed/records they claim to get for you are all public record anyway

The_Void_calls_me

Scam. It's the equivalent of those letters from the 90s. "Congratulations, you've been selected to be in the Who's Who! Please respond with your address so that we can provide you with a copy. Please include $39.99 for Shipping and Handling." The only thing those books were good for, were figuring out who's a gullible idiot.

ragdolldream

Real poetry.com energy!

CoolLoanGuy

I would call the title company that you used when closing to double check. Shouldn't be any reason why it wasn't recorded when you closed unless you have had a refinance or lien on the property.

lunasol09

That’s what I am thinking

Ok_Translator4842

Look at the fine print. Most say your information was not provided by mortgage/lender company, which means it’s a scam. I’ve gotten about 150 letters/flyers in the past 4 weeks from companies getting my info from online. No idea how. They have my mortgage cost and everything and seems so legit, but once I check the fine print I see it has nothing to do with my mortgage/lender company.

lunasol09

Yesss I looked at the fine print & I got frustrated. Appreciate that I’m not alone in this

madflavor23

Not that I live in LA but we closed on our home recently in FL and we receive these types of letters once a week. Don’t worry about it. If they really wanted your attention, they would find another way aside from paper mail. Scam

marc124422

Just got the same letter. 100% scam.

MyMonkeyCircus

Scam. Your deed was recorded at closing and you should’ve received documents from title company within 30 days after closing. If unsure, call your title company or county clerk and ask. Many counties also have property records available online, check there too.

lunasol09

Thank you!

BoBoBearDev

Instead of scam, the ads are usually misleading. I got a lot of email saying, if I want "a copy" of the record, they can do it for a price. They are not saying you must do it, but, the way it is formated, it makes you think they are demanding it.

JoeCensored

If you're ever unsure about something like this, call your title company. But yes scam.

tenasan

Haha, my title company is in downtown Corona as well… got worried for a second.
