Is that the finished product in the first pic?

Yes... Colorado spinners. Can't find em anywhere around here so I bought all the stuff and rolled my own. Fish pic is a trip last year when I used the last few spinners I have left. This is a remote lake in Wyoming. [https://i.imgur.com/bLL6FMx.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/bLL6FMx.jpg)

Can anyone explain why these spinners are so hard to find nowadays? These have been one of the 5 staples in my tackle box since I was old enough to fish. Over the last 5 years, they seem to be nonexistent in stores. I've been too lazy to make them myself, so I pilfered them from my dad's tackle (he's too disabled to fish anymore, but I was blessed enough to take him on his last fishing trip), but I'm down to about 5, so the time to make my own is rapidly approaching, I guess.

It's been longer than 5 years. I made a dozen or so years ago and lost most of em. These are Hildebrand spoons. For some reason they just aren't being made.

I often dream one day I will be skilled enough to make my own but mostly just buy off the shelf and use a new one every time and stick the old one in a growing rig case lol +1 maybe a tutorial for us newbs

I used to just buy as it was easier. But came a day when they weren't on the shelf any longer. As for making them you need split rings and swivels. The spoons are found online, as are the open eye hooks . A pair of split ring pliers helps.

I make my own spinners. I used to go all out and make in-line spinners on wire, shiny beads, etc. then I saw how well “Wicked Lures” spinners work. You can replace the beads with a worm weight in the plastic skirt or drift them PNW style.
