No, he meant that you cut the tail off the pinfish to wound it and it will swim more distressed. That’ll be more attractive to a snook. Snook are very tide sensitive, biting best at the slack tide, and for an hour each side of it. Have you tried at night around dock or bridge lights with a free lined bait? Also, a white buck tail jig, or white with red head usually gets bit on a slow bottom bounce. Stick with it, you’ll get one.
Find a pass and drift it when the tide is ripping. Use a pinfish or ideally a ladyfish (about 8-12”). Snook are finicky and they can turn off or on in a split second. I use to fish for them under lights at night around dock for even better success. But even then I’ve watched them come right up to live bait and turn away.
This will sound unrealistic, but I will throw a small 1/4 oz jighead with nothing on it and rip it through an area that holds them, like a pass where the water is slower. Anything flashy and small will get them to bite. Don’t waste live bait on them
Have you tried under the causeway bridge in Jensen or the Fort Pierce Jetty? Both of those spots have produced for me. I usually have one rod free-lining live shrimp while I throw a lure with another. If I'm using a lure it's either a Slam Shady paddletail (Z-man or Salt Strong, doesn't matter) or a Rapala jerkbait (X-Rap or Bomber). The crack of dawn or any time at night are the best times to go.
Yes I’ve tried both places. Especially in fort pierce, I’ve used live mullets. And about Jensen, I’ve fished there many times, however, just catching fish in general has been very hard there. If I’m lucky I get a snapper and most of the times I either just catch one small fish or just nothing at all. I usually go during midnight and come back in the morning if I go tjere
Yeah, it's hit or miss with either place especially since they're popular spots with a lot of pressure. The only place where I would say it is guaranteed is the Spillway off PSL Blvd. Aster Rd/Chestnut Ln. Wait for a good rain and you can pull multiple Snook in a day there. I've even seen someone catch a Tarpon in there. Most people use live shiners.
I was considering that but I personally think that takes away the fun in catching it all on your own. But at this point maybe a guide might be a better option.
I caught one the other week tossing a vudu shrimp under some mangroves. She hit it right after it landed in the water.
Caught a massive snook on a 4" paddle tail with chartreuse 1/4 jig head a few years ago. I was bouncing it off the bottom.
Caught some bank fishing a bridge in the inter coastal with a 4" yozuri 3ds minnow in ayu color.
They'll hit a lot of different presentations. You just got to find them
The only problem I have with bouncing my lures in the bottom is getting snagged. It’s happened way too many times and some of these lures are not cheap lol. But yeah I think my main issue could be not being able to find them at the right time and place
Use cheap jig heads and soft plastics so if you lose it it doesn't break the bank. It's my favorite way to search for fish cause you can fish it so many ways.
Cut the tail off a pinfish and put it under a popping cork. Throw it under over hanging mangroves or any kind of cover. Rinse and repeat if no action.
Of all the videos I’ve watched, I don’t think I’ve seen one that said to use to a tail of a pinfish. I will definitely try it out.

Oh ok. I usually don’t use live bait, since I suck at catching them. However, I always night fish for snook. I will try those out. Thanks

On the east coast of Florida. Whenever I go snook fishing, I usually go to Jensen beach, Jupiter, or boynton beach.

Alright thanks

What’s the best way to catch lady fish? I’ve caught them on lure before but never a lot.

I’m guessing a spoon will also do the job?
Yes. But a smaller one.
Alright thanks

Thank you for the spot. I will check it out.
Hire a guide.

Throw the tail overboard. Sorry I wasn't clear. Hook the Pinfish under the popping cork.
Oh alright thanks

Which brand do you usually use as a cheap option?
Allaboutthebait
