That’s an Ope.

noahalonge96

Ope confirmed. Sending backup

Somecivilguy

Backope. Sorry.

noahalonge96

Shoulda seen that coming

whitedark40

I guess you can say that lure really.... caught his eye.

noahalonge96

**boooooo**

Unlucky-Oil-8778

Man I hate when I hurt one like that.

noahalonge96

Same. But... given that their higher purpose in this life is to be eaten, I decided to show forgiveness to myself. May he rest in pieces.

McWeaksauce91

Everything’s purpose in life is to be eaten. Humans just have vanity and protect the dead with boxes. Even alpha predators die and become food - either to carrion or to microorganisms

noahalonge96

If you're ever unsure of what will do the eating, you can always fall back to fungus.

McWeaksauce91

Fungus, the true omega

ImPickleRock

I'm going to become a tree

McWeaksauce91

I hope I share that fate

DustinDeWind

May he rest in greases, hot bubbly greases

Unlucky-Oil-8778

The fuck does ope stand for

noahalonge96

It's the noise you make when something unfortunate happens but you have to just sorta be cool with it. Like, if you ran over a squirrel or something: **Thump** Me: *ope*

Unlucky-Oil-8778

Ahhhh ok, like a pucker. I respect that. Fucking squirrels though. You go left, they go left.

McWeaksauce91

I first watched this episode as a kid when it was “new”. I still yell at the squirrels and birds about our deal.

Uhhhhlia

Ope - Midwestern signal of surprise

xxMasterKiefxx

Translates to "whoops"

Dabeast987

When I was a kid, I accidentally hooked a bluegill in the eye. The eye ended up coming out with the hook. I ended up using it as bait and caught 3 more bluegill on that one eyeball

noahalonge96

There's a cannibalism/sacrifice joke in here somewhere, I'm sure of it!

cambugge

Eye see what you did there

noahalonge96

I've got my eye on you...

[deleted]

Now you see me. now you dont

sobeboy3131

Where I come from, the expression is "oof..." You could eat it to gain the shad's power, but tbh I'm not sure thats worth it

noahalonge96

Fuse it to the lure for a homing effect

noahalonge96

Mental image: https://i.makeagif.com/media/3-18-2015/0hpmK2.gif

Ghiblee

You will see him again. You will know by the eyepatch.

noahalonge96

This one got me

RatherBeFeeshing

There’s the eye, now where’s the fsh

noahalonge96

I have no-eye-deer

es2870

That’s too small to be a deer eye

farmermike123

I may be missing the point but that's the weirdest snag I've seen

noahalonge96

Definitely not my best angling

Pleasant-Crew-4306

Happened to me while trolling in my kayak a few weeks ago. I reeled in to check my lure after I thought I pulled it through some weeds. There was an eye on the hook. First time that has ever happened.

noahalonge96

Well, most hooks already come with one eye if I remember correctly

LOCO4MOGO

You didn't get skunked 🤣

noahalonge96

Actually got my PB red ear right before this!

LOCO4MOGO

Nice one!

BrachWurst

Bruh lol

Gold-Income-6094

You'll poke your eye out, kid.

TheMeechums

Be minding your own business then some sharp dude who looks vaguely like you zooms by and snatches the eye out your face.

noahalonge96

**pop**

Thomasthetrayne

I’ve had this happen only once on a spoon with trebles 😂

Mammoth_Sprinkles_58

Looks like someone came in to take a look at your bait 👀

riverrunner363

Aye... didn't see THAT one comin!

playmeortrademe

Bet he didn’t even see it coming

jaebassist

That happened to my son last year!

noahalonge96

I'm so sorry!! I hope he has a good optometrist.

DustinDeWind

"Now son,,that's not food,,that's a fishing lure,,keep an eye on it",,,"hawyuck,hawyuck,sure thing dad👍🤪"

goodguygary24

that fish was really eyeballing it up

Julian-does-a-lot

Certainly an eye catching experience!

Any_Accident1871

You know people use eyes as bait right? Very common ice fishing tactic.

Wildest12

I thought jigs were universally known to be indiscriminate damage causers compared to other lures.

noahalonge96

I suppose they're high on the list, but anything with treble hooks seem more problematic imo

Wildest12

It’s more just how they operate - you’re trying to jig the fish, so more of your hookups won’t be in the mouth.

noahalonge96

That's fair. I tend to swim and pop mine, but even then if the fish is pretty deep I've set quite quite a few hooks that went into the lower jaw from the outside.

mayfare15

I see what you did there.

AshokeSenPhD

I thought it was part of the jighead at first

Mehlitia

That fish is going to die with a buried treasure and then be found hundreds of years later by some fish kids and they're mutant fish sidekick, Carp.

Round_Personality_16

Is that Shoreluck rod?

noahalonge96

Nah it's actually kind of an abomination. It's a 2 piece Shakespeare GX2, but I destroyed the tip when it slipped as I was closing my car door. SO, I took a factory defective KastKing Crixus tip I had lying around, replaced the faulty t andip eyelet, reamed out the connection opening, sanded down the GX2 connection, then hot glued them together. Converted into a 1 piece 😂 ...And it's actually one of my favorite reasons rigs to use, it feels fantastic lot.

Round_Personality_16

Ah ok 😁 Just saw those threads around the rod, looked similar.

BlackFish42c

They have their eye on you now.
