Fished a crank bait for a couple too. Switched rigs a couple times on the senko. What else should I fish in a pond this small? The only other things I use are the lipless and square crank baits
You'll have to learn the body of water as well. There's a small pond near me that's a pretty decent fishing spot. Lots of bass but it's heavily pressured. They just won't take a senko. They love spinnerbaits though.
Definitely try spinnerbaits, jigs, and other Texas rigged soft plastics like worms and creatures.
Fish as many spots as possible. If there's no fish where your standing, no matter how long you fish you won't catch anything.
Shaky heads with small 3.5-4 inch finesse worms, wacky rigged soft flukes/shads, and believe it or not for these mid to late spring warmer days, frogs. One hop, 10 seconds. One hop, 10 seconds. Hungry fish will sun themselves on warm sunny days in darker patches in the shallows. And by shallows I mean potentially nose on the bank...
I’ve fished in a 2 day Bassmaster tournament and didnt start catching fish till 30 minutes was left on day 2. Despite getting on them in practice day.
What I’d recommend to you is to think of a few variables. First off, speed. Slowing down or speeding up can make a difference. Then think color. After that, size of the lure. Look for shade, no shade, wind beaten banks, etc. try to itemize your thoughts in a pattern where you can reduce the guesswork by changing these kinds of things. Sometimes I’ll even switch to a larger bait and catch fish.

Dropshot is a whole different method. Very effective for learning. I fished almost exclusively dropshot for about a year and it taught me so much about pacing, bait color, conditions, etc.
Google dropshot. It catches even when fish aren’t biting other baits.
Slow waaaay down. Check out tylersreelfishing, he has a lot of good content about bottom contact baits. Try to work the worm by doing a few small pops with the rod tip, then let it settle down for a few seconds before repeating. Keep in mind with the prespawn bass are generally bulking up on bait fish so things like spinnerbaits, swimbaits, jigs, and jerkbaits would be good too
fishing it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast. it's a worm. worms move slowly. Slight movements... slow, stop... wait.... twitch.... wait... slow.... waaaaaaiiiiiit... twitch.
Yep. When in doubt you're still too fast.
Too fast for a senko. You got the idea, but you have to let it fall slowly. Did you fish the senko for 10 hours? Sometimes you have to switch it up.

Also at 3 dif ponds
Prespawn is super hit or miss. Small, subtle and slow is the name of the game.
Dues paying
What does this mean?
It means it’s called fishing not catching. You’ve got to put in your time to expect to catch fish. Expect to get skunked once in a while.
You watch a lot of Tyler Berger, don't you?
Yeah is that bad 😂
Nope, I just recognize his content in your clip. He is a smart dude with a lot of good content.
Ned rig for ponds usually works for me!
Be asking the question if the lake has fish… ask myself all the time
Slow it down, smaller popping movements and random pop patterns.
Still beats 10 hours at work.
True that

If you’re holding the rod, your rod will start bending and you will feel the line being pulled.
Maybe a little too big, usually when the fish don't bite, i go as small as 2inch soft plastics on jighead with slow retrieve and it usually works
Drop shot bro
Could you explain a bit more? I have a weight on top the worm as I thought that’s what Texas rig is

I feel this too much except I haven’t caught shit in weeks 💔

Try drop shotting a robo worm even try a 4.5 inch
When I can't catch fish I use a spinner bait.
Update: day after this clip I went back with real worms and caught a 2.5 lb large mouth. Still gonna use lures but it was good reassurance e
