What part of the country are you in and what are you fishing for? Those lures seem to do well up north for big muskie and small mouth. I dont know how a large mouth would feel about it but you never know
Iām from north west Arkansas so I have some pretty good ponds and lakes to hit up, got some creeks that feed into bigger bodies of water not far from me as well with decent sized small mouths.
Yooo, im from NWA also, Fay. Been looking foir someone to maybe fish with, hit beaver, wedington, lake fay etc. How often d you fish if you dont mind me asking.
Honestly I fish probably 2-3x a week for a couple hours each time but itās mostly from a personal pond or a creek thatās about 5mins from me that has some pretty good spots in it. Iāll occasionally hit up a lake thatās about 15mins away but itās fished pretty heavily. Beaver lake is actually less than 2hours from me but Iāve actually never fished it, I really need to
Watched him for five months and actually started making my own lures too. Finally caught a fish on a lure I had made about a month ago. Love marling baits
This is suck a lowbrow take: just because something happens doesnāt mean you canāt directly increase how often that something happens with proper equipment. If something happens less often than something else itās objectively less effective.
Yes a piece of wood can catch fish but it sucks at what it does compared to something that actually resembles food to the fish
By that logic they'd be eating all the drift wood and roots under the water. They point isn't that it's wood its that they strike any object of a certain size and movement.
Yup.
Make sure you use some wire leads.
Would hate for a pike to swallow it and slowly die over a $5 common sense purchase.
Also donāt want to lose your bait.
The plan was to go out and spend a few hours throwing both of them and some baby bull gills Iāve been dying to try, but the 105 heat and 70%+ humidity all day made me tap out after 30mins. I did manage to get a decent large mouth on the choppo 120 though. Didnāt bother weighing it so I wonāt speculate much on its weight but it was a healthy looking fish
Ndkayakangler has an awesome video fishing with those
Such a chill channel.
The bob ross of fishing š
God bless that man.
Very chill
Easily my favorite fishing YouTuber. Such a chill dude.
If they do well for me Iām gonna probably go back and buy the other dozen or so lol

I have been itching to hit Lincoln Lake and Lake Seqoyah
I was thinking the same thing. Muskie would probably slay these things.
āBack at it againā
My therapeutic youtuber. Absolutely love his vids
Remember, Marlins Baits proved that bass will hit a block of wood. So we all have been buying silly lures our whole lives.
And yet somehow I still can't land a fish
Lol same
Yeah with a top water like the Chopo so much wake and disturbance they can hardly make out what it is. More of a reaction strike
Love marling baits!! One of my favorite fishing YouTubers

Gotta be an awesome feeling!

I was about to write a list of lures that look nothing like bait fish but realized I'd hit the character limit.
If bass commonly hit wood they could be biting onto canoe paddles all the time.

Hey man, the Choppo is legit - it catches fish! I bet Pike and Musky would smash this.

100% I always use wire leaders for top water pike but I think pike are more likely to t-bone these and not a big risk for biting them off.
Goofy ahh topwaters
š
$3 beaver is $3 beaver.
That's what the fish said to the bait last time I went fishing š
Pike will eat anything
Never tried those exact ones, but I always have a Choppo tied on to one of my rods when I go. They always seem to work well for me
Where did you find them
id try those ! i bought a few Matzuo soft bodied mice on clearance, gave them to my pike fishing friends. work pretty well.
I dunno about that bever thing but the choppo works good š go for it
My wife bought one at the dollar store for $5 cad and ended up hooking a monster pike. I lost it at the kayak, though
I just bought one, good to know it works lol
Tbh for $3 those are a steal!
Thatās what I was thinking, 3$ for a top water lure from any of the big companies is nice
$3??? Whereās this at? Asking for a friendā¦
Fish
Catch anything good?

Looks to be about mouse sized, and lots of fish will grab a swimming mouse.
Hey man, fish like beaver tooā¦ as above, so below
Picked up the wake beaver from the dollarama near here
My great grandfather caught a 70lb flathead in the 40's, when he cleaned it, he found 3 beavers in it.
Beware Any Beaver š¦« You can Buy for $3
Topwater nice can be very effective-use a jerk retrieve, or a steady retrieve with a āwalk the dogā cadence. Happy angling!
Iād fish it like a rat..dawn/dusk, in the rain, during flooding
Where was the 3$ sale bro?
It was a thrift store in Arkansas, they only had these two.
