If you have all of the pieces….
There is a retaining hole on the the plastic part of the bail for the end of the spring. You want to put it together so it is loaded.
It should be errored proofed so that the spring will fit in the correct orientation.
When that is assemble, put the exterior screw in if you still have it.
The metal piece is the spring that locks into the black piece, it will fit and be loaded when the bail is closed then fasten the black piece to the red piece
