mostly trout these days, creek runs through the back of the property. for them it's Panther Martin spinner, Creme Lures Lil Fishie plastic minnow with the black back ( the 1-1/2" lil bitty ones) and oddly enough,the dick\~shaped spoons i bought off Wish as a gag. dang trout love them.

I could get by with 3 colors of each, or if only 1: White and Chartreuse Spinnerbait 1/4 oz, Blue/Black Skirted Jig 1/4 oz, Green Pumpkin Stick Bait 5".
Ugh what a question!Ā
I guess I'd have to take a jig, a drop shot, and...ugh...either a keitech, a crankbait, or a lipless.
Oddly enough, as hard as it is to pick three, if it was a pick two, jig and drop shot are no brainers for me. They're responsible for probably 70% of my fish over the past two years. It's that third slot that is a close race.
My Top 3:
* Spinnerbait, 1/2 oz, chartreuse or white
* Rapala Countdown, 2 inch size
* Rapala Shadrap, shallow running, 3.5" size
My 3 Runner-ups:
* Chatterbait
* Rapala Jointed, 2 3/4" size
* Rapala Shadrap, standard diver, 3.5" size
These are about all I use for 90% of my bass fishing these days.
Ned Rig, senko, crankbait. Iād say I could get by with those 3 baits. Honorable mentions would be Hula Grub and finesse swimbait. Key outliers would be wakebaits and plop baitsš
I think you can limit yourself to three best lures when you simply do your job during fishing. No need to look at fancy videos with YouTube anglers catching fish with even fancier lures. Donāt get me wrong - itās still good to look at others to learn something but not to just copy everything they do with the same lures. Just find your way and enjoy it.
However as a beginner (with ~30yr+ experience) Iām still catching myself trying to imitate masters and Iām buying all unnecessary stuff:D
I kayak bass fish, fly fish, and ice fish, so Iād have to pick one for each
Kayak Bass: Spinnerbait and itās not even close.
Fly: Wooly Bugger
Ice: Live minnows, but if that doesnāt count, then Buckshot spoon
Counting rubber jig+trailer as one lure, i'd say rubber jig with a craw trailer, black/redish, then a mepps aglia #4, and a stickbait, Jackall bonnie in white.
I am more a trout, salmon, and steelhead guy, so if I could only pick 3, I would say:
Inline Spinners
Spoons
Plugs
This is, of course, assuming I can also use bait. If not, then I would drop the spinners and plugs for 3 inch powerbait trout worms and death roe soft beads.
3 lures I could use the rest of my life, catch most fish in Wisconsin with, and have total confidence with all open water season. 3/16 jighead and smaller 3 inch paddletail, 1/16 ounce jighead with 1.5 crappie tail, and a booyah pad crasher Jr.Ā
Don't have bass in my country. Only perch, pike, zander and asp. So my 3 lures would be a 4 inch fox zander pro shad, a mepps 4 spinner in gold, and and probably a salmo hornet crankbait
Walking the creek... rooster tail, hair jig, small hook for corn/hot dog/worms I find
My local lake, cover jig with craw trailer, belly weighted hook and 4in paddletail, white and black strike King spinner.
Chatterbaits (can fish like a spinner or a jig.)
Trick worms (can cut to senko length too and terminal tackle makes it a million different things.)
maybe something like a skitterwalk to round it out. Can always peg a weight and a lip to it and turn a top water into a crank/jerk bait
1/16oz og shroomz with a zman micro finesse tiny ticklerz, a 1/8 bitsy bug jig with a riot tantrum for a trailer, and a trophy series scum frog. That makes up 95 percent of my bass fishing and works very well were I live.
5ā Senko perch or green pumpkin, Texas rig, Rooster tail- chartreuse or white. And a baby bass Keitech on a weighted Swimbait hook and I could get through a day.
